Perhaps you feel like you are constantly beating yourself up about how things are, or maybe you feel like you can’t stop worrying about something even though you know worry isn't helpful. In this episode, we explore the role of thought saboteurs in our lives and how to recognize their voices without letting them control our outcomes with life coach Robin Davis. We go deep into the role of the judging saboteur and how to identify it so it doesn’t rule us.

This episode is the first in a three part series that deal with the voices that both hurt us (saboteurs) and help us (sages).

Maybe it’s because we are at the end of the winter season, maybe it’s the world news, but we have noticed that there is a common thread lately with our listeners as they share what’s on their hearts. ‘The common theme we have been hearing is that many parents out there are simply feeling drained and exhausted. Although this is something all parents are familiar with in every season, there just seems to be an extra dose right now. In this magic moment, Felica addresses this exhaustion and gives us several different ideas to try out.

Escaping the Trance of Unworthiness & Finding Self Acceptance Within Feb 22, 2022
    Show notes

Many of us live our whole lives with this nagging feeling like there is something wrong with us. Somehow, others are more worthy, have it more together, or understand something about life that we don’t. Tara Brach, author, therapist, and teacher, calls this constant undercurrent of disillusion the trance of unworthiness.

In this episode, we discuss her book, Radical Acceptance, and explore the antidotes she offers to this trance. It is possible to live from a place of accepting reality without judgment. This is a place of recognition, nurturing, and mindfulness.

    The book that inspired us:

Antidotes to the Traps of Entitlement and Yelling Feb 08, 2022
    Show notes

We all want our kids to be grateful when we give them wonderful experiences in life, and it can be alarming when they not only don’t show gratitude, but are full of complaints. In this episode, we address this issue and discuss how we can cultivate gratitude without layering on guilt for our kids.

We also talk about one of our most common questions ever: yelling. It is sooooo easy to get caught up in the habit of yelling, and sometimes we can feel trapped because we don’t know how else to get our kids to listen. We give several concrete strategies to help this common issue, not just a philosophical discussion on the topic.
