Welcome to HardWodder Episode 90 – Functional Health Coach Ryan Syverson’s Journey To Wellness
Our mission with this podcast and company is to Arm Humans With The Tools To Crush Mediocrity, Create Mastery, And Live In Total Wellness. I am Jason Archer… founder of HardWodder, creator, freedom seeker, leader of self and this tribe of those giving all they have for all they want… and today we’re talking all health and wellness with Functional Health Coach, Ryan Syverson.
What if you were in pain all the time? What if you had latent childhood trauma? What if you were affected by mold and had no idea the cause?
These are just some of the topics of conversation in this week’s episode with Ryan Syverson.
Ryan is kind enough to share his discovery of childhood sexual abuse and the meditation techniques that allowed him to uncover it and see how it had affected his life. Sadly, I know he isn’t alone in that experience and his story serves to help us each understand the path forward from that realization.
From there we dive into an increasingly common phenomenon: pain and sickness developing from mold. Mold isn’t immediately obvious as the culprit in most cases, and because of that goes misdiagnosed by many doctors out there. But there are signs and a way out of the pain and distress if that’s your situation. Listen as Ryan walks us through this experience and several more in this conversation and offers advice on how to best increase your health outcomes with proven techniques in this episode.

“Most people are quiet in the world, and live in it tentatively, as if it were not their own.” – E. L. Doctorow

Welcome to HardWodder Radio Episode 65 – New Year, New Opportunity To Lead And Create The Life You Want.

I am Jason Archer… founder of HardWodder, creator, freedom seeker, leader of self and this tribe of those giving all they have for all they want… and today we’re speaking to the mad rush of energy we each tend to invest in the New Year.
My friend and fellow warrior poet, Shaun Hair, go deep into leadership and self mastery with a tour through the pros and cons of Social Media and the influences that we allow to drive us toward the lives we each seek to build.
It you’re looking for another bland vanilla conversation about “Goal Setting”, this ain’t it.
Goals give you direction, but traveling in that direction is predicated on systems… as you execute on your systems you become a new person.
The benefit of this process is that knowledge that you can become whatever you wish if you’re willing to let go of the old and run with the knowledge that you have power over your actions and self talk.
This episode is a fun conversation and we wish you all a Happy New Year fulled with great success and achievement!

Most get on the podcast and talk about the shiny side of life, but that is often not the reality. I appreciate the forthright nature of her experience and how it’s impacting her life. Take notes would be entrepreneurs!
We get into her story. Her tale of be being violated and how that impacted her life.
We have a solid debate about trauma… and go into much of the challenges with modern insurance based healthcare. it’s not often easy to prescribe what a patient really needs when insurance is the deciding factor.
Jocelyn is brave enough to give us her thoughts from a very real place. If you appreciate that, you’ll love this episode.
Be sure to support The Vagina Doc and pelvic floor specialists in general… there is a great need and much work to be done to keep people in the know with regards to this branch of physical therapy.

Be. Do. Have… These words in this order are a philosophy of responsibility.
Such a simple collection of words. But arrange them differently and you get a different philosophy about life altogether. Starting with being is key.
Being-ness is about how we show up. Once we are aware of this, it becomes our responsibility to be in a way that supports our development and positive growth. And using our results as a guide we can steer the ship wherever we want it to go.
Give this a listen… Inside I outline ways of being that have propelled me forward. I believe they will work for anyone who chooses to employ them with honest effort.

Talk about an amazing story… Heather certainly has one.
Growing up in rural Georgia, she overcame the psychological trauma that comes with divorce and being told she wouldn’t amount to anything in a big way.
But before she did, her low self esteem and poor eating habits took her up to 100 pounds overweight.
Luckily, a wake up call from a doctor got her moving and ultimately training in order to regain her lost athleticism and body… and she never looked back.
She dropped the weight and with some encouragement from her trainer signed up for a triathlon with all the fears you’d expect from someone who’d never done one.
But she was getting progressively better the more she trained… to the point where she represented Team USA as an amateur in Australia!
Quite the turnaround… hear the full story today.

Quote: “You cannot dream yourself into a character; you must hammer and forge yourself one.” – Henry David Thoreau
Hailing from Hawaii, Destiny DeHaven now makes a home in Colorado… A place she never thought she’d be.
But as life does, it led her down a new path. One where she would experience the transformation associated with personal development and start a new life in a new place doing new things… like speaking and coaching.
She brings an amazingly positive energy to all that she does. This conversation was no different.

Welcome to HardWodder Radio Episode 41. Our mission with this podcast and company is to Arm Humans With The Tools To Crush Mediocrity, Create Mastery, And Live In Total Wellness. I am Jason Archer… founder of HardWodder, creator, freedom seeker, leader of self and this tribe of those giving all they have for all they want… and today we’re falling deep in love.
So, turn up the volume, put down the distractions and let’s kick this off…
Inside:
Quote: “People like to say love is unconditional, but it’s not, and even if it was unconditional, it’s still never free. There’s always an expectation attached. They always want something in return. Like they want you to be happy or whatever and that makes you automatically responsible for their happiness because they won’t be happy unless you are … I just don’t want that responsibility.” – Katja Millay
Good time with wifey on this one…
Cristina and I argue the merits and existence of unconditional love.
Does it exist? Can it exist? If so, where and for what time period… Enjoy this post date night romp through our conversation, and by all means, feel free to comment with your understanding or interpretation.

Inside:
Quote: “The people that I have in my life now… if they see me slacking, they’re going to tell me. I love that. I love being surrounded by people who are going to push me to be bigger, better and greater.”
This episode was great fun and great insight all at the same time.
Roger Webb has an amazing story from being broke and sick to becoming a multiple six figure earner in his business ventures with doTerra.

Welcome to HardWodder Radio Episode 39. Our mission with this podcast and company is to Arm Humans With The Tools To Crush Mediocrity, Create Mastery, And Live In Total Wellness. I am Jason Archer… founder of HardWodder, creator, freedom seeker, leader of self and this tribe of those giving all they have for all they want… and today we’re going deep into the world of Ayahuasca.
So, turn up the volume, put down the distractions and let’s kick this off…
Inside:
Quote: “Just let go and surrender to the experience.“
This episode is a recounting of my very first experience with psychedelics… Ayahuasca specifically.
Plant medicines date back centuries. Ayahuasca follows that tradition and comes from the Amazon or areas like Peru where “Aya Ceremonies” are strongly tied to religion or the expulsion of negative or bad spirits.
Now, this strange brew of the ayahuasca vine and the chacruna leaf has made it’s way to the states and is rising in popularity as a treatment for depression, PTSD, or as a way to gain new perspective on old trauma.
It is working for many… this is my account of losing my plant medicine virginity to Mother Ayahuasca.

I am Jason Archer… founder of HardWodder, creator, freedom seeker, leader of self and this tribe of those giving all they have for all they want… and today we’re going deeper with Husband, Musician, and Writer, Rob Riccardo.
So, turn up the volume, put down the distractions and let’s kick this off…
Inside:
Quote: “You have to truly love what you’re doing with zero expectations.“
Rob Riccardo and I continue our conversation today in part 2 of our interview…
This is a must listen for anyone wanting to go into the music industry or pursue a creative path. We go deep on the importance of deciding what kind of Artist you want to be, the ceaseless work requirement, and being patient while having faith that what you want will come to pass if you pay the price.
Rob was raised on the beaches of Long Island, NY. And, the foundation of the now Phoenix-based songwriter’s sound derives from the surf scene of his formative years on the East Coast.
Shortly after picking up the guitar in high school on a bet from a friend, Rob discovered the acoustically driven melodies and socially conscious lyrics of artists like Jack Johnson, John Butler Trio, and Ben Harper. These musicians, along with classic troubadours from his father’s record collection like James Taylor, would serve as the initial inspiration for writing his own songs.
After a year of experimenting, he developed his own blend of folk, rock and reggae infused with a heavy serving of conscious lyrics. With a newfound focus and a fresh batch of songs, Rob teamed up with Gilbert, AZ-based producer Erick Morina to record his debut album The Calm Within, a collection of tunes heavily inspired by his yoga and meditation practice.
Rob’s released his second full-length album, Seeker, on September 14, 2018, featuring positive themes and plenty of nature-based metaphors. He is already recording his third album, a self-produced double LP featuring new songs of growth and reflection.

Inside:
Quote: “No complaints… it’s all led me to this moment.“
Rob Riccardo, caught my attention as he played in a crowded room down in Phoenix… Not an easy task with a room full of distractions, but I could tell all his music was original so I immediately perked up.
Music has always spoken to me and has been a key element of my own personal wellness. It can change your state of mind, lift you up, or even be an outlet.
From the first song, I got a sense that Rob was a deep guy… his lyricism and playing style took me to the edge of the water and filled my mind with images of freedom and life outside.

So, turn up the volume, put down the distractions and let’s kick this off…
Inside:
Quote: “First of all figure out what you want… a conference can’t tell you what you want, a certification will never tell you what you want.“
Nate Palmer, is one of the most personable people I’ve had the opportunity to work with and get to know. I think his story can resonate with many…
From not feeling completely comfortable in his skin as a home schooled child tossed into public school, to finding a way to over come those insecurities and become someone people enjoy being around, Nate’s path has always been about finding the most direct path to results.
He’s about getting things done. And, done quickly and efficiently.
This outlook helped him get through college, find work as a trainer, and ultimately start his own training business.
Now an author, father, and fitness professional, Nate is a master of finding the most effective path to results for his clients and has multiple fitness products and services on the market to aid that process.
He brings a quick wit and an easy going nature to almost any situation, and has found passion in two primary topics in the fitness world: 1. Teaching people to eat for their specific purpose… and 2. Challenging his clients to think about becoming more.
Listen to Nate’s early lessons and his purpose in the fitness world inside this podcast.

So, turn up the volume, put down the distractions and let’s kick this off…
Inside:
Quote: “I’ve always been the kind of person who did my own thing… I never followed the pack.“
Justin Maxim, or Max, is one of the most interesting and relatable people I’ve had the opportunity to learn about lately. I think his story can resonate with most of us.
From growing up in Ohio to now making a home and building a business here in Phoenix, not only did a lot of dominoes fall at the right time, but Max also had the balls to up and leave his home, his good job, and his family to strike out and make a life he really wanted for himself.
He had the courage to walk away from the known in favor of new possibilities, something most struggle to do.
He played a little college football, studied massage… but he was always a creative mind and deep soul. Eventually, he found his way back behind a camera and has done some great work for clients around the valley.
Having learned many of life’s lessons early, and avoiding what he calls “Societal Timelines”… he maintained an independent vision for his life and is now building his videography business with his partner called VaporSwift Media.
Pick up some of Max’s early lessons, learn about his intuitive nature and lucid dreams as we go along on his life journey inside this podcast.

I am Jason Archer… founder of HardWodder, creator, freedom seeker, leader of self and this tribe of those giving all they have for all they want… and today we’re going into part of speaking with Dr. Breanna Reeser on all things Integrative Health.
So, turn up the volume, put down the distractions and let’s kick this off…
Inside:
Quote: “One thing that I learned is that I don’t know everything.“
Breanna Reeser is probably one of the smartest people I’ve had the opportunity to sit and have a discussion with recently.
She’s passionate about health and wellness… and, specifically interested in the question of how we can create better healthcare outcomes using an integrative approach.
How cool would it be if your doctor engaged in “Whole Person Care” rather than simply the run of the mill 10 minute interrogation to get you in and out as quickly as possible.
What if there were more focus placed on prevention and lifestyle? Patient education?
These questions and more are explored in this podcast… if you have an interest in healthcare, and you should, then give this a listen as Brea sheds light and possibilities on some very difficult questions.
Check out episode 34 with Brea on HardWodder Radio, and enjoy an education and discussion on integrative health!

So, turn up the volume, put down the distractions and let’s kick this off…
Inside:
Quote: “Integrity should be seen as like the laws of physics… It’s a law. You either are in integrity or not.“
AJ RIchards is probably best known around the valley for his series of competitions known as Rush Club, but honestly… I think he should be known for hitting a level of vulnerability in this interview that goes far beyond what most are willing to put forth.
This week we continue the conversation we started in Episode 32. And, AJ continues to deep dive into his journey, his marriage, and plant medicine
The real raw truth is revealed.
And from that place, he lays out how he plans to move forward and expand into the man he wants to become… for himself and his family
Let this level of vulnerability be a guidepost for you… Ask yourself: Where can am I not being honest in my life and what can I do to get back into integrity.

I am Jason Archer… founder of HardWodder, creator, freedom seeker, leader of self and this tribe of those giving all they have for all they want… and today we’re talking with Foodie and Author, Cristina Archer.
So, turn up the volume, put down the distractions and let’s kick this off…
Inside:
Quote: “I believe you can never arrive at wellness… It’s always everchanging. So there’s this pursuit of finding a balance between your mental, physical, and spiritual.“
Cristina Archer comes from a long line of Italians from the Calabria area in southern Italy. And, recently she left Canada to join me here in the States creating a huge transitional point in her life.
Her prowess and mastery with food originated with her experiences as a young child working with and around her mother, who even though she lacked a formal education, immigrated to Canada and started her own authentic Italian restaurant.
That would be Cristina’s platform for learning and spark a joy and love of food in her that persists today.
Cristina and her co-author, Brianne, have crafted a series of recipe books now available on Amazon and soon to be in print called “Feed The Firebreather“… they contain healthy recipe’s, but also nutrition information and tips on how to setup your kitchen for success.
Check them out and pick up your copy as you learn a little about Cristina’s journey on this episode of HWR!

I am Jason Archer… founder of HardWodder, creator, freedom seeker, leader of self and this tribe of those giving all they have for all they want… and today we’re talking with Entrepreneur Jarred Smith.
So, turn up the volume, put down the distractions and let’s kick this off…
Inside:
Quote: “You don’t want to create that conflict with someone else because… they’re you.“
Jarred Smith brings an interesting story to light as he speaks about his upbringing in a Mennonite community, his path out, and ultimately his path to awakening to what is truly possible for his life and family.
Although he and his wife left everything and everyone they knew in small town Mississippi to break away from their early influences, the road to something new didn’t immediately materialize. And, somehow they still found a way to overcome the fear and anxiety of starting fresh with little help and few resources.
Living a fairly sheltered life where questioning authority figures didn’t really fly, Jarred felt there was more… That there were experiences and knowledge that could add to his experience in this life.
Moving to Arizona, going into business with a partner, then ultimately striking out on his own this whole experience has been an Awakening of sorts. And, that’s before you throw in the elements of self education, discovery, and plant medicine.
So sit back and enjoy the episode as Jarred walks us through his path from a Mississippi Mennonite to his Arizona Awakening!

So, turn up the volume, put down the distractions and let’s kick this off…
Inside:
Quote: “I cant be the only one sitting here going is this worth it? Is the paycheck going to be good enough at the end of the day where its something I want to keep doing over and over?”
Probably one of the most laid back gym owners out there, Eric Stewart has a calm and welcoming way about him.
Having moved to the Phoenix area as a kid from the northern California area where he spent much of his childhood outdoors and active, he and his family continued that tradition and remained very much involved with sports and recreation here in the Valley.
Always encouraged by his parents to do challenging things, Eric’s Mom ultimately introduced him to the CrossFit methodology. That exposure led him to stay with the sport and now into gym ownership with Hammer CrossFit in Peoria.
The mission at Hammer is to “love on people”…
Sit back and enjoy the episode as Eric takes us through his journey of allowing life to unfold in his favor!

Inside:
Quote: “God, thank you for the abundance circulating in every area of my life. All my goals, needs, and desires are met instantaneously… for I am one with God and God is everything.”
It’s rare to meet a younger man with depth and a desire to put in the work to become more.
But that is exactly how I would describe Jeff Thornton. He, like many, became disillusioned with the corporate world and began the journey of becoming his own man soon thereafter.
Starting in the tech world, then entering his own consultancey, and ultimately ending up in a passion project in the fitness world, Jeff has been steadily putting in the work to expand his life.
He would learn it’s not about things, but about people and who he is becoming along the way.
In this conversation, he brings tremendous insight and shares some of the details around learning to be vulnerable and operate from purpose rather than ego.
And, he shares his most recent realizations around his business and why he decided to change directions.

Welcome to HardWodder Radio Episode 26. I am Jason Archer… founder of HardWodder, creator, freedom seeker, leader of self and this tribe of those giving all they have for all they want… and today we’re talking with Entrepreneur, Breathwork Coach, Wim Hof Instructor and Father, Jesse Moreng, regarding his growth in all those categories.
So, turn up the volume, put down the distractions and let’s kick this off…
Inside:
Quote: “Anything that we are putting into our bodies; seeing, hearing, feeling… is affecting our well being. And so, wellness to me is finding alignment within yourself… “
Jesse comes from a idyllic background… good family, good home, and all the things you’d imagine the American Dream to be. His story reads almost “golden” in a way, but this was never something that caused him to be lazy or soft when it comes to living his life.
He earned his way into collegiate wrestling, then went into combat sports and mixed martial arts with an epic work ethic.
But, oddly enough, his path lead him away from fighting, he found new ways to get in touch with himself and his personal alignment.
Through breathwork with Buteyko and ultmately Wim Hof, he learned to channel his energy inward and find his peace and connection. Now as an instructor, he teaches these methods to others.
His center for human optimization opening now, will be home to a multitude of tools and techniques and classes to help elevate the well being of anyone who chooses to participate.
With the new business, he plans to continue his seminar work and teaching in the hope to impact more lives.
We’re happy to welcome him in studio today.
Don’t miss episode with the co-owner of Optimyze, Jesse Moreng!

Welcome to HardWodder Radio Episode 25. I am Jason Archer… founder of HardWodder, creator, freedom seeker, leader of self and this tribe of those giving all they have for all they want… and today we’re talking with Entrepreneur, Coach and Father, Mycal Anders, regarding his growth in all those categories.
So, turn up the volume, put down the distractions and let’s kick this off…
Inside:
Quote: “CrossFit by and large is type A fire-breathers… they are attracted to this style of training. But when you get to the fundamental truth of it all, if you want a good workout, doing it with proper technique when a week ago you didn’t is just as hard as doing it prescribed and sloppy as shit. “
Mycal is doing big things in his life and business and I would bet money his results were greatly influenced by the fact that his Dad had him reading philosophy and personal development books when he was a kid.
Starting that young with the principles that so many have used to create success, it’s no wonder the he created a work ethic and mindset that would lead him into a successful military career, collegiate football, and ultimately into entrepreneurship.
Mycal is the owner of Crossfit PHX, where he has created a culture of excellence and a collection of systems that have allowed him to grow and be voted the #1 Crossfit Gym in the States in 2017 by Men’s Journal.
With the release of his second book, Inner Circle, Mycal continues his growth by sharing the lessons he’s learned over the years in print in hopes to impact more lives.
We’re proud to welcome him in studio today.

Content:
First Up, New Direction: The HardWodder One Project takes a turn. I’m going to tell you how I got started in CrossFit, what the original idea behind HardWodder was, and what the next evolution looks like.
The New Mission: To arm humans with the tools needed to crush mediocrity, create mastery, and live in total wellness.
What is mediocrity… Where does it show up in your life?
What is mastery… How do we attain it?
Wellness? Nobody knows what it is. So after governments and foundations have thrown billions at it, the guys at Stanford decide maybe they can quantify it with The Well Program.
They discover 10 domains of wellness.
The HardWodder Model of wellness is: Mental, Physical, and Spiritual… with subsets of each.
The long term vision is to build a resource both online and at a physical location that houses the resources, people, and proper instruction needed to build mastery in living your best life. A life of total wellness and peace of mind.

So, turn up the volume, put down the distractions and let’s kick this off…
Summary Description:
Today I have the privilege of speaking with John Eberley of FUSION HDP regarding his process and proactive healthcare here on HardWodder Radio…
John D. Eberley, Founder and President of FUSION – Human Development & Performance Corporation. He is a contributing author of the best-seller “The Fad Free Fitness Formula!” with a chapter titled: “Fitness Is Not A Fad – It’s Your Health Care.”
With 40 years in the fitness industry, John has seen quite a bit.
As a teenager John was fascinated by the ability to physically transform the body through exercise and diet, and was a nationally ranked amateur bodybuilder. He worked with his first personal training client while still in high school, and quickly realized that NOT everyone could ‘connect’ to their body, and that inability reduced their gains.
When John lost his mother to a 3 year battle with cancer it radically changed his focus from just “bodybuilding” to fitness and identifying the lifestyles and behaviors that help or hinder human health, wellness and performance.
He unfortunately started the 1990’s with 3 car accidents in 18 months and (although he finally sold that car), was unable to train for 3 years and had to deal with chronic pain for six years.
Over 10,000 hours later, he learned enough about micro nutrients to correct the pain issues and restore proper tissue response allowing John to return to the fitness industry.
In 2000 (an apparent hangover from the car accidents) John had a bout of “sciatica”. This debilitating condition required a new solution as neither drugs nor surgery were an option for him.
He reversed the sciatica with a specific series of walking patterns he called the Silly Walk (after the Monty Python skit), this would become his first Foundational Movement Pattern and ultimately what grew into Deep Core4 Foundational Training™
The various challenges, experiences and solutions stimulated John’s competitive energies again only this time to uncover the truth found in scientifically based research and natural laws. The past 18 years have really been focused on creating a proactive rather than reactive health care system.
In January of 2011 John introduced the his “New” Health Care paradigm, which is called The FUSION HDP SelfCare Program™
