Bianca Melchior and Dan Jeanotte Interview Jun 16, 2026
    Show notes

We would love to hear from you. Send us your thoughts or suggestions.

Bianca Melchior almost didn't believe she got the role of Fern on The Way Home. Her agent opened the call like she'd lost the part. She screamed loud enough to wake her entire block when she found out the truth. This is that interview, and it only gets better from there.

What you'll hear in this episode:

    • How Bianca's agent faked her out on the Fern casting call, and exactly what her reaction sounded like to her neighbors

    • Dan Jeanotte's theory that Cliff on The Way Home and every other cop he's played are actually the same person (the Hallmark Cinematic Universe is real, apparently)

    • The full story behind episode 9's catacombs scene, how Dan prepared for it, and why Bianca was in tears at the wrap party seeing his performance for the first time

    • What was actually going through Fern's mind during the explosion, and why that moment is a turning point for who she is

    • Bianca's cover of Tainted Love on The Way Home's Apple Music playlist and why it's the emotional hinge of Fern's entire arc this season

    • Dan's reggae version of Tainted Love that did NOT make the final cut, and the less said the better

    • What it felt like to join a well-established cast in season 4 and how the entire Way Home family across all three eras pulled them in

The Way Home Season 4 Ep 9 Review Jun 15, 2026
    Show notes

We would love to hear from you. Send us your thoughts or suggestions.

The Way Home Episode 9 ends with a tunnel explosion, a gunshot, and two actors delivering some of the best silent acting this show has ever put on screen. We watched it multiple times. We cried multiple times. And we still have questions.

We cover everything in this one: the fan mail that perfectly sums up how confusing The Way Home has gotten, the Fern-Katherine reunion that wrecked Andrea, Griffin earning a possible spot as the worst character in the show's history, and the ending that had us texting each other in all caps. We also get into the fan theories going around right now about what The Way Home actually is, whether it's a coma dream, a book, or something far weirder. And we make the case that Kat has had more chemistry with Suzanna and Thomas than she's ever had with Elliot. We stand by it.

One episode left. Two hours. Here's where we are.

What you'll hear in this episode:

    • The fan mail from Albuquerque asking where to even begin making sense of The Way Home, and our actual suggestions

    • Why Andrea cried watching Episode 9 multiple times, including during the Fern and Katherine reunion

    • Griffin taking Alice's picture in the woods, and why we think he might be the single worst character this show has produced

    • The tunnel explosion ending broken down: Dan's jaw-dropping acting, whether Elliot's mom shot him on purpose, and what the Augustine brothers situation means for who actually survives

    • The moment the pond rules felt like they got quietly bent, and why it bugged us

    • Fan theories making the rounds on Reddit and Instagram: coma dream, Cat writing a book, Alice in Wonderland hallucination

    • Every question that still needs an answer heading into the two-hour finale: Griffin's whereabouts, 11:11, who's getting married, where Jacob jumps

The Greek Aisle Review Jun 11, 2026
    Show notes

We would love to hear from you. Send us your thoughts or suggestions.

Nikki DeLoach heads to the Greek island of Corfu, co-inherits a property with a stranger, and discovers the only way to finalize it is to marry him. We break down whether The Greek Aisle pulls off a premise that has no business working as well as it does. And yes, we have strong opinions about that final kiss.

    • The moment a cat named Cassandra walks on screen and the fake-marriage premise suddenly has a genuine sense of humor

    • The electricity bill collector scene and why Andrea had to rewind to catch the punchline

    • Why Nikki DeLoach and Apostolis Totsikas somehow save all their chemistry for one final kiss in the canal, and whether that's enough

    • The dinner party scene where he tells the detective the truth anyway, and why that one choice made this movie different from most Hallmark films this year

    • Why the mom earned our character corner over every other performance in The Greek Aisle, and what separates her from every annoying matchmaking parent Hallmark has ever given us

    • Eric's 3.5-star verdict, Andrea's push toward 4, and whether Garage Sale Mysteries is actually coming back

The Way Home S4 E8: Did Elliot Just Invite His Mom to Her Own Death? Jun 08, 2026
    Show notes

We would love to hear from you. Send us your thoughts or suggestions.

The Way Home Season 4 Episode 8 just handed us one of the biggest Sam moments of the season, and we need to talk about it. Did Elliot just invite his mother to her own death? We think he might have, and that parallel with Kat is not a coincidence.

We're breaking down everything in S4 E8 of The Way Home, including the Sam bombshell at dinner, the tarot card the show quietly got wrong, why Evelyn's isolation has been foreshadowed since Season 3, and the Jacob and Abby "I love you" moment that was very, very Hallmark.

What you'll see in this episode:

    • Why Kat and Elliot are practically the same person, and why that makes them both terrifying with a time pond nearby

    • Sam finally lets on that he knows about the pond, and what that reveal actually means for the final episodes

    • The Hermit tarot card from Season 3 that was drawn upright when it should have been reversed, and why flipping it would have perfectly predicted who Evelyn becomes

    • Fern and Elliot singing at the piano with Cliff in the room, and the moment Tessa walks in and says that's the song she would have sung to him

    • Why Jacob and Abby said "I love you" before asking a single practical question about their actual lives

    • Our biggest fear for the finale: too many unanswered questions, not enough runway to land them

    0:00 - Season 3 Rewatch Check-In and Season 4 Feelings

4:30 - Episode 8 Breakdown: Tainted Love or Time After Time?

19:30 - Standout Scene: Fern, Elliot and the Piano

21:30 - What We're Expecting from the Next Episodes

23:10 - Next Episode: Nikki DeLoach

Drop your theory about Sam in the comments. We want to know if you think he's a good guy or if this is going to break our hearts in the finale.

Haunted Harmony Key to the Castle Review Jun 04, 2026
    Show notes

We would love to hear from you. Send us your thoughts or suggestions.

The third Haunted Harmony puts us in an Irish castle with a murdered ghost hunter host, a spirit who doesn't know he's dead, and a writer who reached out to us personally with secrets from the script. Andrea gave it a 3 out of 5. Eric ranked it the second mystery of all three. We don't usually split this much.

    What You'll Hear

    • Why Andrea watched the entire murder reveal scene with her laptop literally covering the dead man's face, and what that did to her read on the whole movie

    • The Clue movie homage Craig Wenman built into the secret passage scene on purpose, confirmed directly to us

    • What the victim's last name "Dempsey" means in Irish, and why it ties directly to why he couldn't cross over

    • Griff vs. Inspector O'Reilly: why three episodes in, the love triangle still doesn't have a clear winner or real stakes

    • Where to find more Ireland-set mysteries right now: Murder She Wrote's "Nan's Ghost," Harry Wild with Jane Seymour, Alicia Silverstone in Irish Blood on Acorn, and why it might finally be time to subscribe

The Way Home Season 4 Ep 7: Did We Just Figure Everything Out? Jun 01, 2026
    Show notes

We would love to hear from you. Send us your thoughts or suggestions.

The Way Home just name-dropped "Some Like It Hot" and Eric is not letting it go. Nick called himself Spats. The character Spats in that film witnessed the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. Al Capone is connected. The 1920s timeline suddenly has a lot more layers, and this episode is either brilliant or a little too ambitious. Eric and Andrea break down Season 5 Episode 7 with questions, theories, and at least one genuine concern.

    What You'll Hear

    • Why Eric thinks Sam is the "keeper of the pond" and what that might mean for Del's future with him, including the moment Del says "I love you" while concussed and who she was actually talking to

    • The "Some Like It Hot" Easter egg: how Spats, Al Capone, and the St. Valentine's Day Massacre connect directly to Nick's time travel story in the 1920s

    • Casey calling Alice selfish and why that mirrors exactly what fans have been saying about Kat for seasons

    • Elliot making a deliberate choice not to jump into the pond, and the "Big Fish" arrest photo that raises a huge question about where his arc is going

    • Fern and Cliff's steamy 1920s kiss, the key hidden in the piano, and what it all might mean with only three episodes left

    • The honest take on the Al Capone/Tessa direction: did The Way Home bite off more than it can chew?

True Justice Eye for an Eye Review May 28, 2026
    Show notes

We would love to hear from you. Send us your thoughts or suggestions.

True Justice Eye for an Eye has the Justice Warriors back on the case, and Eric is giving it 4 stars. The pacing is sharp, the ensemble cast earns their screen time, and the camera work during the crime scene sequences is genuinely impressive. But when Eric and Andrea get into the actual mystery, they both land in the same place: the whodunit itself might only deserve a 2.

    WHAT YOU'LL HEAR

    • Why True Justice Eye for an Eye works as a movie even when the mystery doesn't fully connect the dots, and how it compares to the first True Justice

    • The VR break-in scene that was exciting and also almost certainly a felony, and the question neither host could answer: how did they get out of Kimber's house?

    • Katherine McNamara's wig, which Eric calls the second-worst in Hallmark history, and why it was more conspicuous than any disguise should ever be

    • The True Justice 3: Lost Love listing that already exists on IMDb, plus Eric's prediction for when it actually airs

    • Trivia: Katherine McNamara's role as Mia on the superhero series Arrow, and writer Nikki DeLoach's personal nod to her home state of Georgia hidden in the script

    • Hallmark and Chill picks: Murder She Wrote Season 10, Episode 5 for a vintage VR parallel, and Darrow and Darrow starring Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Wendie Malick, and Tom Cavanagh

The Way Home Season Four Episode 6 Review May 25, 2026
    Show notes

We would love to hear from you. Send us your thoughts or suggestions.

The Way Home just handed us our wildest theory of the season, and we are not letting it go. Jacob and Abby might be Casey’s parents, Tessa just revealed she’s running the whole smuggling operation, and Kat has once again made everything measurably worse for everyone around her.

In this episode, Andrea and I break down The Way Home Season 3 Episode 6, and the theories we walk away with are bigger than anything we’ve had so far.

    Here’s what we get into:

    • The Jacob-is-Casey’s-dad theory: why the season two clues were staring at us the whole time, and what Casey saying “I don’t know anything about the Goodwins” actually means

    • Tessa as the ringleader of the smuggling ring at the Cove, and why Andrea saw it coming while Eric did not

    • Kat’s pattern across three seasons of steamrolling into situations and making everything worse, including her dad

    • Andrea’s season two rewatch discovery: the psychic who kept calling Del and Colton, and whether there’s a real connection to Tessa

    • Del’s horse, Stormy, and why three seasons of screen time has to mean something

    • Alice skipping New York, Max’s harsh take on small-town life, and why the show might be setting her up to repeat her mom’s story

    • Elliot’s reaction to seeing Tessa on stage, and why it felt off for a guy who’s already met her before

    • What we still need answered before this season wraps, and our honest concerns about whether 12 episodes is enough

    Chapters:

0:00 – Welcome and episode setup

4:30 – The 1920s carnival, Del’s horse, and the Stormy thread

9:00 – The wildest theory yet: is Jacob Casey’s father?

13:00 – Kat makes everything worse (again), and why Fern and Thomas are the only ones who call her on it

18:00 – The Tessa plot twist and Elliot’s reaction problem

22:00 – Alice stays home: the wrong call, or something bigger?

25:30 – What we need from the final episodes, and why Hallmark canceling this show still stings

Do you think Jacob is Casey’s dad? Drop your theory in the comments.

Hanaha Swensen Mystery: Best Served Cold Review May 21, 2026
    Show notes

We would love to hear from you. Send us your thoughts or suggestions.

ThiHannah Swensen's 14th mystery delivers fun characters and some courtroom drama, but Eric and Andrea agree the mystery itself is weaker than fans deserve. The killer is obvious from the moment they appear on screen, there are no real suspects, and Hannah's character feels like she's lost some of that strong, independent edge from earlier movies.

    What You'll Hear:

    • Eric gives this one a 2.5 out of 5 — slightly better than the last Hannah movie but still missing what made the early ones work

    • Why Hannah's personality shift with Vic feels inconsistent compared to her dynamic with Mike in earlier films

    • The one thing that worked: Chad finally gets some backstory and actual courtroom scenes instead of just busting down doors

    • Andrea's favorite character was the killer — and why that's actually a problem for the movie

    • Their Murder She Wrote and True Justice recommendations if you're craving a better mystery

    • A preview of next week's True Justice: Eye for an Eye review (and why you should rewatch the first one before the new episode drops)

The Way Home Season 4 Episode 5 Review May 18, 2026
    Show notes

We would love to hear from you. Send us your thoughts or suggestions.

Eric and Andrea are reviewing The Way Home Season 4 Episode 4, and they are not on the same page. Eric calls this his favorite episode of the season so far, while Andrea is still only halfway into the pond. Nick time travels to the 1920s, someone wants Kat dead, and the tarot cards Tessa steals might actually mean something.

    What you'll hear:

    • Why Nick singing with the Augustine brothers at the speakeasy might be the best Nick moment of the entire series

    • Eric's take on why Kat and Elliott's relationship feels more like siblings or toxic friends than romantic partners

    • The tarot card breakdown: Knight of Cups and the Empress, and what they could actually mean for Tessa's future

    • Del's concussion visions of Colton, and whether she and Jacob were both running parallel delusions

    • Andrea's standout scene: Evelyn showing real compassion when Colton tells her about the miscarriage

    • The drowning scene cliffhanger: Kat was the target the Augustine brothers were told to "get rid of" — but by who?

    • Grayson Goodwin: good guy or bad guy? Eric and Andrea don't agree

    • Why Elliott stealing Kat's keys is giving "like mother, like son" energy

    Chapters:
