    Good Bodies

Welcome to Good Bodies, a “wellness” entertainment podcast where all bodies are good bodies. If you’re still reeling from the toxic diet culture of the early 2000s (justice for Jessica Simpson) and constantly quoting your therapist, then Emily Lubin and Lauren Hope Krass are here to help you laugh (so you don’t cry). Diets can’t sit with us anymore but there’s a place at the table for body neutrality, body positivity, intuitive eating, and hot takes about which non-dairy creamer pairs best with our sharp cheddar cheese omelettes. For more Good Bodies content and the most relatable shit on the internet, follow us on Instagram at @everythingsfine.

    Oprah-Zempic Mar 31, 2024
    Show notes

On Today’s Episode of Diet Starts Tomorrow, Emily and Lauren recap Oprah’s recent TV special “Shame, Blame, and The Weight Loss Revolution”. They watched it so you don’t have to and they are both traumatized but also somehow laughing? Segment by segment, they recap what was said and then provide some context and their honest reactions. Confusion abounds. Finally they close with some statements from experts who found the special to be problematic. This episode is a bit of a wild ride and emotions run high so the hosts did just want to share a quick note: “We definitely do not pass judgment on anyone taking these drugs for weight loss. Not even a little bit. We just found the whole way this special was done to be manipulative, confusing and shame-inducing.”

Weird Salads For The Win Mar 28, 2024
    Show notes

On today’s episode of Diet Starts Tomorrow, Emily shares her Food Pinion that weird salads are the best salads. Lauren mostly agrees but then a debate breaks out about fruit in salad. Is it just a weird holdover from the 90’s or totally delicious? Then, they read a Dear DST from a listener who is wondering what to do about her child’s pro-diet culture classroom. Can parents actually affect change in their children’s schools or should they just focus on the at-home environment?

This Gourmand Perfume Trend Isn’t Passing The Smell Test For Me Mar 21, 2024
    Show notes

On today’s episode of Diet Starts Tomorrow, Lauren walks Emily through her recent alcohol epiphanies and quandaries. First there was boy sobriety.. Now is it just regular sobriety? Is it possible to still feel hungover when you’re alcohol free? What’s going on here?! Then, the two review a recent article from HighSnobiety “Eating With Our Noses: On Gourmand Perfumes, Diet Culture & The Danger Of Smelling Sweet” by Alexandra Pauly. Is it coincidence that perfumes which smell like food are popular again just like in the early 2000’s when diet culture was ablaze? Something isn’t passing the literal smell test here.

Emily Elaborates On Her Weight Loss Story Mar 17, 2024
    Show notes

On today’s episode of Diet Starts Tomorrow, Emily and Lauren share a fun nutrition hack they saw online which inspires both mindful eating and abundance. All you need to know is that chocolate is involved. Then, Lauren channels Barbara Walters for a deep dive into Emily’s history with dieting, weight gain, weight loss, disordered eating and eventually Intuitive Eating. In this deeply vulnerable episode, Emily reveals the pivotal moments in her life for when she began dieting and for when she finally stopped. There may be sensitive content in this episode for those with or who are recovering from an ED but it's an illuminating chat which ultimately highlights the horribly mixed messages we receive from diet culture and even our families during our most pivotal adolescent years.

(It’s pretty cool; give it a try!) Then, Lauren shares a bold Food-Pinion.. or Drink-Pinion if you will. Are shirley temples just as satisfying as a cocktail and if so, how do you order one without feeling like a cheapskate child? Lauren and Emily bring you the hot takes and hot tips.

WTF Is World Ob*sity Day? Mar 10, 2024
    Show notes

On today’s episode of Diet Starts Tomorrow, Emily and Lauren start us off with their weekend updates (come at us snl). Lauren continues to excavate her room and Emily shares about her recent seemingly near death experience with skiing. Then, it’s time for some self care shares; do those collagen eye patch things actually work? Do you really need new running shoes every year? Finally, the two celebrate “world ob*sity day”... excuse me sorry *checks notes* they read it for filth. Apparently this is a real day which the World Health Organization recently posted about on Instagram. Is it thoughtful or stigmatizing af? Tune in!

A Perfect Storm: The Age Of Ozempic and Plus Size Influencers Mar 07, 2024
    Show notes

On today’s episode of Diet Starts Tomorrow, Emily and Lauren chat about how “the age of ozempic” is affecting plus size influencers and their followers. Some people are taking it; some aren’t and emotions are HIGH. Is it a betrayal if a body positive account starts to lose weight or is it just none of our business? Then, the two review a disturbing new trend where semaglutide companies are targeting fat positivity accounts to take their drugs for ca$h. This is a sensitive subject and we are figuring it out just like you as it happens. Peace and love!

Lauren Is Not Having Sex And She Actually Loves It Mar 03, 2024
    Show notes

On today’s episode of Diet Starts Tomorrow, Emily and Lauren start off with a quick wellness check and they both seem to be on the path to accomplishing their goals; hooray! Lauren shares that she called out some body shaming language on a recent girls trip which thankfully got resolved in a super wholesome way. We’re all in this together! Then, they discuss a Betches article Lauren recently authored called “I’m Not Having Sex And I Actually Love It.” Content warning: there are some sexual experiences recapped that might be upsetting to some listeners; not assault but not great. Essentially, Lauren shares the joys of opting out of sex while still being open to it cumming back into her life.
