The KO Show, Rhea, Singles Omega, and CM Punk’s IG Posts - WWE and AEW March 20-26 Mar 27, 2023

Show notes

This week, the guys tackle KO’s underrated role within the Bloodline saga. They also discuss their thoughts on Rhea Ripley’s hopeful title reign. Wrestlemania season is upon us, so wild speculation and fantasy booking is a must.
In AEW, Kenny Omega has finally started his singles run. How does Don fit in, is Hangman reuniting with the Elite, and are we in for some double-crossing and a potential Golden Lovers reunion? Plus, CM Punk is at it again. Will he be back in AEW?
Brad went to see Shazam 2 this week. He shares his thoughts in GI at the Movies. Tyler gives us a run-down on the latest episode of the Bachelor and mercifully doesn’t ask Brad a question about his experience with fantasy suites. Finally, who likes group work?

Wrestlemania Main Events, AEW Builds, March Madness, and 2k23 - WWE and AEW March 13-19 Mar 20, 2023

Show notes

This week, the guys start with discussing the very modern and very relevant musical Guys and Dolls before rushing headlong into Brad’s Spring Break and Tyler’s thoughts on WWE 2k23 and how long the install takes.
In WWE, some matches feel important on the way to Mania and some don’t. They talk about which matchup they are looking forward to the most, and they try to predict where the eventual KO/Sami team will take on the Usos knowing that they won’t main event.
In AEW, the four pillars match has finally been established. Tyler asks what makes this the right time to do the match, and they both talk about working stiff as one of their favorite commentary calls as it relates to promo work. They also discuss the sharp commentary online with Raj Giri and the Twitter beef with wrestlers and the IWC. Brad and Tyler share their thoughts.
Brad’s brother, Brian, led the De Pere Red Bird men’s basketball team to state tournament victory, earning the first championship since 1934 and solidifying a dominant 30-0 season. Tyler, however, tells us of the agony of Arizona losing to Princeton in “What Happened Here?” Finally, Tyler brings us updates on the Bachelor (and coincidentally, the Bachelorette) when he gives us another rose.

Cena Returns, AEW Gets New Shows, TBS in Canada, and Ricochet at Mania - WWE and AEW March 6-12 Mar 13, 2023

Show notes

This week, the guys break down the week of wrestling on television. In the WWE, the road to Wrestlemania marches onward. John Cena challenges Austin Theory for the US title, but did his promo take it too far. Plus, Tyler laments Ricochet’s absence from the current Wrestlmmania card.
In AEW, there is a new TNT champion, but the big questions revolve around this coming week’s episodes in Winnipeg. Jade Cargill appeared to challenge Canada’s best after being gone for a few weeks, and the guys wonder if this is when she drops the belt. Plus, is another wrestling show simply too much content to consume? They discuss after the Andrew Zarian report of a potential Saturday show.
After a long absence, the return of The State of 19 Media Group brings us several mistakes by Brad. Tyler gives the recap on The Bachelor and which of their picks are still in it. Brad gives the epic story of when he met his wife’s family, and they wrap it up with what they are looking forward to this week.

AEW Revolution Post-Show and The Cody/Roman Face-off - February 27 - March 5 Mar 06, 2023

Show notes

This week, the guys break down AEW Revolution match by match, including the pre-show. Yes, there is talk of Daddy Magic’s nipples. There is also talk about how great the show was.
In the WWE, the Tribal Chief lays down the law to Jimmy Uso, and he eats Cody on the microphone. The build to Wrestlemania continues, but where is Roman ranked in promos?
Tyler delivers another Rose as the Bachelor nears its conclusion, and the fellas discuss Ja Morant. It’s a mess, but embrace it!

Join them as the take the temperature of the WWE outside of the Bloodline as we head toward Wrestlemania, the temperature of AEW heading into Revolution, and the live-event experience that all of them had at the Footprint Center in Phoenix for AEW Dark: Elevation, Dynamite, and Rampage. Elimination Chamber, Battle in the Valley, and a Not-So-Dynamite Dynamite - WWE, AEW, and NJPW February 12 - February 19 Feb 20, 2023

Show notes

This week, the guys talk about Elimination Chamber. The PLE was an eventful one, and was definitely one of the most emotional events ever produced. Brad has strong feelings about the outcome of the main event, and Tyler has strong feelings about the booking of that same match.
In San Jose, Mercedes Moné defeated Kairi to become the second ever IWGP Women’s Champion. They had the longest match on the card, and the fellas break it down (and may or may not fantasy book.)
AEW Dynamite was pretty mediocre this week, and after Rampage aired early, Tony Khan took to Twitter to verbally attack Ariel Helwani for being biased when he showed up on SmackDown (and Elimination Chamber). Tyler uses his skills as a journalism major to give us some insight.
Brad says something he shouldn’t be allowed to say (no, not that), and Tyler drops a gem from 2014. A-Game? Maybe not. But Tyler still brings his thoughts on Knock at the Cabin, and he also drops another Rose from Tyler. Embrace the mess and enjoy the ride!

Jey Uso, Jay White, Jay Briscoe’s Brother, and LeBron’s J - WWE and AEW February 6-February 12 Feb 13, 2023

Show notes

This week, the guys talk about all of the Jays and Jess in pro wrestling. In WWE, Jey Uso made his return to action. They discuss whether or not the timing was right. Also, they have to talk about that Cody and Paul segment. The match is built, stakes were established, but could it possibly have taken away from Sami? Plus, where does Switchblade Jay White land if he goes to WWE?
In AEW, the talk of Wednesday night was the new tag champs, the Gunn Club. The heat is real, but was it a good decision? Orange Cassidy continues a really solid title run as All Atlantic champ, but does it feel like a really important run?
Brad talks about being in the moment after LeBron’s record setting shot, Tyler gives another rose as we head into Valentines Day, and the fellas bring back Gutbuster of the Week. This time, they talk about the memeability of Mark Briscoe and about Swerve’s Happy Black History Month moment. There’s a ton here, so strap in!

Sami Zayn v Roman Reigns, NXT Vengeance Day, Belts, and AEW OGs - WWE and AEW January 30-February 5 Feb 06, 2023

Show notes

This week, Tyler and Brad talk about spirit week in high schools, specifically one dedicated to wrestling in the greater Phoenix area. Also, they talk about actual wrestling. The guys share their thoughts on NXT Vengeance Day.
In WWE, the only item to discuss is Sami Zayn, Roman Reigns, and things happening around both of them. They break down what they saw, what they look forward to the most, and how the crowd reacted (or overreacted) to Cody Rhodes name.
In AEW, the women are feuding and its the OGs versus the free agent signees. Jade continues to dominate, but will she join a side? Plus, Rampage is back! But in a bad way.
Roses are delivered from Tyler, and Brad cuts a promo on people for telling him they’re busy.

Bloodline Drama, Name Returns, Rhea, Cody, Bray, and the Royal Rumble - WWE and AEW January 23-29 Jan 30, 2023

Show notes

This week, the guys break down the 2023 Royal Rumble. As Triple H said in his press conference, the WWE does spectacle better than anyone. Tyler and Brad discuss the spectacle, the good, the bad, the ugly, and what is maybe the best storyline ever told in professional wrestling.
Bray Wyatt debuted a new gimmick, a new match, and…another new gimmick within the new match with the new gimmick? Was it a miss? It sure looked like Uncle Howdy missed. Bianca and Alexa mixed it up, and the men’s match showcased the incredible Gunther. A few spots in the match will be all-timers, but no surprises this time. The women, however, had several returns. They break the matches down. Finally, nothing would be complete without talking about Sami, Jey, Roman, KO, and the Bloodline fallout. It was everything we wanted.
AEW brought out an incredible group of matches this week as they honored Jay Briscoe. Several matches were set-up for this week’s Dynamite, but Jamie Hayter and Emi Sakura stole the show. It’s not the only show that Tyler breaks down, though. A fresh edition of A Rose From Tyler is headed your way.
