NMDAM, also known as National Minority Donor Awareness Month, is celebrated throughout August with the goal of promoting organ, eye, and tissue donation in diverse communities.

This Week's Guest: Evelyn Colon

- Evelyn Colon is a dedicated advocate for organ, tissue, and eye donation since 2008.

- Received a liver transplant on January 7th, 2008.

- Championed the cause with LifeLink and assisted numerous individuals to join the Florida state registry.

- Spearheaded Tampa General Hospital's Special Peer Support Group for transplant patients.

- Recognized for volunteerism with The President’s Volunteer Service Award and the National Organ Transplant Enlightenment Award.

- Volunteer mentor with Big Brother - Big Sister of Tampa Bay for 16 years.
