We had the most amazing band family trip to Aspen earlier this month and while there, I sat my girls down and we talked all about what it's like to be married to a touring artist, and how to keep the balance of home life and road life. My sisters, Amanda, Andrea and Rhain, are all badasses in their own right and it was too much fun to get to hear about their love stories with their hubbys and how we all make this life work together. Not only has he written #1 hits such as "Barefoot Blue Jean Night" for Jake Owen, Eli Young "Even If it Breaks Your Heart," and Love and Theft's "Angel Eyes," he was was nominated for song of the year with "She Don't Love You," a song he wrote and performed as an artist. He's had a beautiful journey, and we talk all about the highs and lows. On November 20th, 2014, Ty made the decision to come out publicly as a gay man.
