Get Obsessed : With Living Your Best Life – Julie Lokun and Mika Altidor

What happens when two women who refuse to play small sit down with the people actually changing the world — and the ones brave enough to tell the stories most shows won’t touch? You get The Get Obsessed Podcast — a show built for people who are hungry for more truth, more transformation, and more proof that the life they’re imagining is actually possible.

Hosted by Julie Lokun and Mika Altidor, this is the podcast for dreamers who are done dreaming and ready to move. Julie is a legal advocate, entrepreneur, and mother of four who has spent years studying what it truly takes to succeed. Mika is a fierce business owner and meditation facilitator obsessed with self-development who knows what it takes to turn a life around. Together they bring zero filters, radical honesty, and an unshakable belief that you were built for more than you’ve been told.

We go places other podcasts won’t. We have explored the inner world of Scientology — the beliefs, the pull, the controversy, and what it means for the people inside it. We sat with Janelle Brown from TLC’s Sister Wives and went deep into what it really looks like to live outside the lines of what society calls normal, to question everything, and to find your own definition of family and freedom. Dr. Christine Marie, featured in the #1 Netflix documentary Trust Me: The False Prophet, joined us to unpack manipulation, control, and how even the smartest people can be led astray — and more importantly, how to find your way back.

These are not comfortable conversations. They are necessary ones.

And then there are the guests who show up to teach you how to build. Gary Vaynerchuk on turning obsession into empires. Evan Carmichael on finding your purpose and never letting go. David Meltzer on staying grateful and driven when the odds are stacked against you. Jim Kwik, author of Limitless, on unlocking what your mind is actually capable of. Dr. Laura Berman — Oprah’s go-to love expert — on grief, healing, and choosing to keep living fully. Dr. Nadine Macaluso on trauma and reclaiming your story. Dr. Sherrie Campbell on breaking free from toxic relationships for good. Gina DeVee, the woman who inspired this show to exist, on building a life entirely on your own terms. Kim D. from The Real Housewives and Lt. Joe Kenda, the Homicide Hunter, on the stories that shape us.

At the heart of every episode is one question: how do we actually live our best life — not the curated version, not the one we perform for others, but the real one? The one that lights us up, challenges us, and makes us feel fully alive. That is what we are building here, one conversation at a time.

New episodes every week. Apply to be a guest at www.getobsessedguest.com. Explore everything at www.getobsessedpodcast.com and www.getobsessedpod.com. Reach us at hello@getobsessedmedia.com — we read every single message.

Obsessed with Controversy, Radical Acceptance and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex May 02, 2023
    Show notes

In recent years, the public has been captivated by the controversy surrounding Meghan Markle, the American actress who became a member of the British Royal Family after marrying Prince Harry in 2018. Meghan has faced intense scrutiny and criticism from both the media and the public, leading to a broader conversation about issues of racism, mental health, and the importance of living your truth.

One of the key themes that have emerged from the controversy surrounding Meghan Markle is the concept of radical acceptance.

Radical acceptance refers to the process of accepting and acknowledging the reality of a situation, without judgment or resistance. In the case of Meghan, radical acceptance means acknowledging the systemic racism and sexism she has faced, both from the media and from members of the Royal Family. It also means accepting the mental health struggles she has experienced as a result of this scrutiny.

Living your truth is another important theme that has emerged from the Meghan Markle controversy. This means being true to yourself, even if it goes against societal norms or expectations.

Meghan has been criticized for breaking with tradition and asserting her own identity as an independent woman and a person of color. However, many have applauded her for being true to herself and for using her platform to speak out against injustice and discrimination.

Overall, the Meghan Markle controversy has sparked important conversations about issues of racism, mental health, and living your truth. By practicing radical acceptance and staying true to ourselves, we can all work towards creating a more just and equitable society.

Obsessed With Living in the Moment and Realizing That There is Nothing To Be Fixed Mar 12, 2023
    Show notes

Join Tia as she shares her raw experiences of her epiphany that there is nothing to fix? We discuss the beauty of embracing the present moment and accepting life as it is. Today's episode is centered around the question, "What if there is nothing to fix in my life?" We often get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, constantly trying to improve ourselves and our circumstances, but what if everything is already okay? Let's explore this concept further.

    Segment 1: Acknowledging the Present

We tend to focus on the future and the things we want to achieve, but what about the present? It's essential to take a moment and reflect on our current situation, what we have, and who we are. It's okay to appreciate our present circumstances, even if they're not perfect. We can find contentment and happiness by accepting and embracing the present.

Segment 2: The Pressure to Constantly Improve

Society puts an immense amount of pressure on us to be better, whether it's our relationships, career, or personal growth. It's easy to get caught up in this cycle of constantly needing to improve, but what if we don't need fixing? It's okay to recognize our strengths and focus on what we're good at, rather than always striving for perfection.

Segment 3: Finding Joy in the Mundane

We often associate joy with big accomplishments or milestones, but what about finding joy in the simple things in life? We can find contentment and happiness in the mundane, everyday tasks we do. It's about shifting our perspective and appreciating the small things in life.

    Segment 4: Embracing Imperfections

We all have flaws and imperfections, but that's what makes us unique and human. Instead of constantly trying to fix ourselves, we can embrace our imperfections and learn to love ourselves as we are. Self-acceptance is a powerful tool that can bring us a lot of peace and happiness.

Thank you for listening to our podcast today. We hope that this episode has given you some insight into the beauty of embracing the present moment and accepting life as it is. Remember that it's okay to acknowledge the present, find joy in the mundane, and embrace our imperfections. Life is not always perfect, but that's what makes it beautiful.

The Power of The Enneagram With Dr. Tom LaHue : Enneagram Superstar Feb 27, 2023
    Show notes

Welcome to the Obsessed Podcast, where we dive deep into all things Enneagram with the Enneagram superstar, Dr. Tom LaHue. In this episode, we will explore the nine different Enneagram types and how the Enneagram can change relationships. We are joined by co-hosts Life Coach Brittni Finlay and Enneagram Enthusiast and Pampered Chef Phenom Teri Bales.

Learn more about Dr. Tom @ https://tomlahue.com

The Enneagram is a personality typing system that helps individuals understand themselves and others better. There are nine different Enneagram types, each with its own unique motivations, fears, and behaviors.

Type 1, also known as the Perfectionist, is driven by a desire to be good and right. They have a strong sense of right and wrong and are motivated by the need to improve themselves and the world around them.

Type 2, the Helper, is motivated by a desire to be loved and needed. They are often generous and giving, but can also be manipulative in their efforts to help others.

Type 3, the Achiever, is driven by a desire to succeed and be recognized for their accomplishments. They are often goal-oriented and can struggle with feeling like they are never doing enough.

Type 4, the Individualist, is motivated by a desire to be unique and special. They are often creative and introspective, but can also struggle with feelings of envy and melancholy.

Type 5, the Investigator, is driven by a desire to understand and have knowledge. They are often independent and cerebral, but can also struggle with social interactions and emotional expression.

Type 6, the Loyalist, is motivated by a desire for security and stability. They are often loyal and responsible, but can also struggle with anxiety and indecisiveness.

Type 7, the Enthusiast, is driven by a desire to experience life to the fullest. They are often spontaneous and adventurous, but can also struggle with impulsivity and avoiding negative emotions.

Type 8, the Challenger, is motivated by a desire for control and power. They are often assertive and decisive, but can also struggle with vulnerability and empathy.

Type 9, the Peacemaker, is driven by a desire for harmony and peace. They are often easy-going and adaptable, but can also struggle with indecisiveness and avoidance of conflict.

Understanding the Enneagram types can help individuals better understand themselves and others. It can also provide insight into how different types can interact and affect one another in relationships.

For example, a Type 2 and Type 8 may struggle in a relationship because the Type 2 may feel overshadowed by the Type 8's assertiveness and need for control. Similarly, a Type 4 and Type 7 may struggle because the Type 7's desire for constant stimulation may clash with the Type 4's need for introspection and emotional depth.

However, through understanding and awareness of each other's Enneagram types, individuals can learn to navigate these differences and strengthen their relationships. This can include practicing empathy, communication, and understanding each other's motivations and fears.

Obsessed with Understanding The Enneagram Jan 29, 2023
    Show notes

    What is the Enneagram?

Jules is taking a class on the enneagram and is so excited to share!⬇⬇⬇⬇⬇⬇⬇⬇⬇

The Enneagram can be a useful tool for individuals going through difficult challenges such as divorce or financial struggles by providing insight into their own personality type and how it may be impacting their experiences. For example, an individual who has identified as a type 3 on the Enneagram may have a tendency to overwork and strive for success, which could be contributing to the stress and burnout they are experiencing. By understanding this tendency, the individual can make conscious efforts to set boundaries, prioritize self-care, and develop healthier coping mechanisms.

Additionally, understanding the Enneagram types of those around them, such as a spouse or partner, it can help individuals in a divorce to understand their partner's perspective and communicate more effectively. It can also help in business and financial struggles by identifying the strengths and weaknesses of yourself and your team, in order to optimize the use of resources and improve collaboration and decision-making.

The Enneagram can also be used in personal development and self-awareness, by understanding your own type and its motivations, you can identify areas of growth and work on them to become a better version of yourself.

It's important to note that the Enneagram should be used as a tool in conjunction with other forms of support such as therapy, counseling, or financial planning. It should not be seen as a replacement for professional help.

The Enneagram is a personality typing system that can help individuals gain a better understanding of themselves and others. By identifying your Enneagram type, you can learn about your strengths, weaknesses, motivations, and potential blind spots. This knowledge can be used to improve your relationships, communication, and overall well-being. Additionally, understanding the Enneagram can also help you identify the types of people you are likely to have the most harmonious relationships with and those which you may have more difficulty with. Enneagram can also be used in the workplace to understand team dynamics and improve team collaboration.

Obsessed With How To Do Hard Things Jan 24, 2023
    Show notes

You can do hard things. You are strong and you are capable to do ANYTHING! Tia Walden is back--after a post-partum break which involves loving on the cutest Obsessed baby of all times. Tia knows that you can do hard--we can do hard--listen in to her inspirational message, but first a note from Tia:

Just trust the process, surrender to it, and. If today feels almost impossible to get through, remember that you have made it through the hardest days of your life in the past, and you will make it through today too, and tomorrow will be a new day. No matter what happens the rest of this day, no matter what happens the rest of the night, you will make it through tomorrow, and tomorrow is a new day to.

New energy and new experiences and that this moment or any of the moments that you feel are almost impossible to get through won't last forever, that you will be able to get through these times of grief or hardship or unknown uncertainty, whatever it is you may be dealing with today. , it was meant for you.

This is part of your path, and you are going to survive because you have survived every single thing that you thought you wouldn't. And I know you will make it through this too. And this is the moment that you discover your power. This is the day that you realize that it's always been within you, and it always will be within you because it's always been you.

You don't need to rely on anything outside. You don't need to rely on any of the circumstances. You're. Within or rely on any of the people around you. You only need to rely on yourself because you are strong. You have that strength within you, and you are capable of making it through anything and everything you put your mind to.

So get obsessed with your life. Get obsessed with who you are, not the circumstances that you are in, and you will be able make it through everything that is put into your path. xoxo-Tia

When it comes to manifestation, you need to believe and acknowledge that your thoughts are a unique kind of energy that will help bring your goals and desires to life
