Luke Kornet and small ball with Evan Fournier were the most effective units late, before a Kemba Walker and wings lineup pulled Boston within two points late before Luka Doncic and company closed the game at the free throw line. Marcus Smart Meltdown, 0 Fournier Points, Celtics Lose vs Pelicans Mar 30, 2021
    Show notes

The Garden Report crew breaks down the Celtics and Pelicans from TD Garden, The first game back with fans at the Garden. Boston pushed back after trailing by 13 points late in the fourth to within two before Brandon Ingram iced the game with a step back jumper over Jayson Tatum. Zion Williamson and Ingram combined for 53 points, while Jayson Tatum went for 34 on the Celtics side with a hot start and 15-0 push alongside Marcus Smart to try to win late. Smart played puzzling basketball throughout otherwise, heaving a half court shot of his own as the Pelicans shot clock expired and Boston got the ball back. He chucked threes and struggled defensively, as the Celtics Post Game Show debated whether Boston missed its chance to trade him. Speaking of trades, deadline addition Evan Fournier shot 0-for-10 with 0 points in 33 minutes in one of the worst performances in Celtics history.

Celtics beat Thunder, Andre Drummond Likely Lakers Bound Mar 28, 2021
    Show notes

The Garden Report crew breaks down the Celtics and Thunder. Join Jimmy Toscano, Josue Pavon and John Zannis LIVE. Luke Kornet hit back-to-baxck threes off the bench to blow open what was a close game for three quarters after Brad Stevens benched Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and the starters after falling behind 8-0 to a demoralized Oklahoma City Thunder roster that saw Al Horford leave for the season, Lu Dort hurt in the second half and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander out long-term. Brown and Tatum combined for 52 points in a dominant second half, inspired by the benching, and Robert Williams III overcame being batter by Moses Brown in the first half and returned the favor in the third quarter. Celtics Post Game Show also touched on Andre Drummond choosing the Lakers over the Celtics, reportedly, and other buyout options on Gorgui Dieng and Demarcus Cousins, and whether it's worth replacing Mo Wagner or Kornet.

Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker drilled early shots through the boost of ball movement and space Robert Williams III provided in his first start. By the fourth quarter, Mo Wagner was making his Boston debut. Celtics Trade for Evan Fournier, Dump Daniel Theis Mar 25, 2021
    Show notes

The Garden Report crew counts down the last hour before the NBA Trade Deadline, tracking all the moves made by the #Celtics and all the other teams in the NBA live as the countdown ticked toward 3 PM EST on Thursday. The Celtics made a trade for Evan Fournier early in the day, missing out on bigger trade targets in Nikola Vucevic and Aaron Gordon, who went to the Bulls and Nugget respectively for smaller returns than expected. Daniel Theis and Javonte Green join Vucevic in Chicago as a salary dump, which sent Mo Wagner and Luke Kornet to Boston. Danny Ainge ultimately used $17 million of the $28 million trade exception, leaving some for the offseason, but essentially ending the Gordon Hayward saga. Is this enough? Are the Celtics better? What's next? The Garden Report debated.

Bucks Beat Celtics, is this Marcus Smart's final game in Boston? Mar 25, 2021
    Show notes

The Garden Report crew breaks down the Celtics and the Bucks on the Celtics Post Game Show. The last game before the NBA trade deadline, they debate the continuous Aaron Gordon rumors that Boston has now turned aggressive on, with the Denver Nuggets quietly lurking as the other suitor with Zeke Nnaji, RJ Hampton or Bol Bol as the sweetener. The Orlando Magic want Marcus Smart, but it's unclear if they'll get him. The Celtics prefer to part with a young player and 1-2 first round picks. As for on the court, the Celtics held down Giannis Antetokounmpo to 13 points, Kemba Walker and Jaylen Brown led the offense and Boston came back from down 25 points to within 2 at the buzzer, getting Daniel Theis an open three for the win that he missed. Was the comeback inspiring despite bad games from Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown?

    Show notes

The Garden Report crew with Jimmy Toscano, Bobby Manning, John Zannis & Josue Pavon breaks down the Celtics and the Grizzlies. Powered by Maragal Medical. Tell them Cedric Maxwell sent you for 50% welcome bonus on initial deposit. The Grizzlies won vs the Celtics in overtime despite 27 points from Jaylen Brown and a season-best 26 points from Jeff Teague with Jayson Tatum out sick and Kemba Walker resting his knee. Marcus Smart turned the ball over late and botched a defensive rotation against Ja Morant with Robert Williams that built a five-point Memphis lead late into the fourth. Smart's cutting layup and lob to Daniel Theis forced overtime, but there he missed two jumpers to begin the frame and a step back jumper down four after Dillion Brooks and Kyle Anderson beat Brown to build a six-point lead and win the game. The Celtics Post Game crew broke down the game and moved on quickly to the rapidly developing Aaron Gordon to Celtics trade rumor, which could include Smart.
