The award-winning Frank Buckley Interviews features newsmakers, celebrities, technologists, entrepreneurs, authors, athletes, artists, and everyday people doing extraordinary things. In 2022, Frank Buckley Interviews was honored with a National Entertainment and Journalism Award from the Los Angeles Press Club for one of its episodes. New episodes are released every Wednesday. The TV version airs on KTLA-TV Channel 5 on weekends and is also available on YouTube and the KTLA+ app.

In doing so, she became the first African American woman to pilot a spacecraft in orbit. Dr. Proctor is the Chief Inspiration Officer for Star Harbor which aims to be the world's first spaceflight training facility and research and development campus accessible to the public.

    Justin Brooks is the director of the California Innocence Project (CIP) based at the California Western School of Law in San Diego. He is also the author of the new book "You Might Go to Prison, Even THough You're Innocent." Justin and his team of pro bono lawyers and law students work to free prisoners who have been wrongfully convicted. To date, their work has resulted in more than 30 people being freed including high profile cases like Guy Miles and Brian Banks, the USC-bound high school football star who was wrongfully convicted of rape and served five years in prison before being exonerated when the alleged victim confessed to fabricating the story.

    During this podcast, Justin explains why and how an innocent person can end up in prison, how he determines if a person has been wrongfully convicted, and he takes us inside some of the high profile cases.

    Michelle Dowd is a journalism professor at Chaffey College, a contributor to national newspapers including the New York Times, and she's the author of the new book "Forager: Field Notes on Surviving a Family Cult." The book is based on her childhood growing up in an apocalyptic cult founded by her grandfather whose members lived in the San Gabriel Valley and in a remote mountain camp in the Angeles National Forest.

    During this podcast, Dowd takes us inside the cult and details the deprivation and abuse she suffered as a child. Dowd also reveals how foraging provided her with the sustenance she needed to survive the experience.

    Re-release: Marcus Yam, Pulitzer Prize-Winning Photojournalist Feb 22, 2023

    This month marks the one year anniversary since Russia's Vladimir Putin ordered the country's military forces to invade Ukraine. Among the photojournalists who were in the country when the bombs started to fall and Russian troops began to roll in was foreign correspondent and photographer Marcus Yam of the Los Angeles Times. Yam first arrived in Ukraine as an experienced war correspondent, who had just covered the fall of Kabul, Afghanistan. Frank Buckley Interviews spoke with Yam last May as he was headed back into Ukraine from the U.S.

    In 2019, Marcus was awarded the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Journalism Award for his unflinching and intimate body of work documenting the everyday plight of Gazans during deadly clashes in the Gaza Strip. Marcus was part of two Pulitzer Prize winning breaking news teams that covered the tragic San Bernardino terrorist attacks in 2015 for the Los Angeles Times, and the deadly landslide in Oso, Washington for the Seattle Times. In 2022, Marcus was awarded the 2022 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography for his compelling coverage of the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban.
