As a licensed clinical psychologist, author and workshop facilitator, Lisa Galper has transformed the eating behaviors of readers, workshop participants, health care professionals and organizations across the country.
A Dedicated Professional
As one who turned to food at an early age and struggled with weight for the first twenty-seven years of her life, Lisa understands first-hand the guilt, shame and other overwhelming emotions that torment many overeaters today. Her passion for this work arose out of her own journey to victory over diet and weight obsession and compulsive overeating.
Along the way, she discovered the critical role of her own psychology. Determined to help others succeed as she has, Dr. Galper received her Master’s and Doctoral degrees from Nova Southeastern University. Before her formal training, she was assistant director of the American Anorexia Bulimia Association in New York City. Since 1993, she has been in private practice specializing in eating disorders, compulsive overeating, and long-term weight management.
A Life-changing Workshop Leader
For the past 20 years, Lisa has devoted herself to teaching people how to step off the diet roller coaster and replace destructive eating patterns with truly effective tools for lifelong weight management. She regularly presents workshops and lecture series in and around Phoenix, Arizona.
Known for her ability to bring hope to even the most hopeless cases, Lisa Galper’s workshops have become the go-to resource that local doctors refer when diets, full meal-replacement plans, and even weight-loss surgery fail. She was the chief psychologist for the Balance Weight Management program at Scottsdale Healthcare and is currently the designer of the original behavioral education curriculum at Scottsdale Bariatric Center; and an instructor at Scottsdale Weight Loss Center.
