Episode 427 Mark “Oz” Geist is a First Class Father, US Marine and Benghazi attack survivor. Mark was a member of the Annex Security Team that fought the Battle of Benghazi, Libya, from September 11 to September 12, 2012. After serving 12 years in the United States Marine Corps, Oz became a Deputy Sheriff in Teller County, Colorado where he Investigated for Crimes against Children. Certified as a Forensic Interviewer of children, he investigated numerous cases of abuse in which he helped to secure convictions of the perpetrators. Oz is still recovering from the injuries he sustained in the battle. He is a co-author of the bestselling book 13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi. Episode 426 Kurt Warner is a First Class Father and NFL Hall of Fame Quarterback. He has one of the greatest stories in NFL history which includes going from Undrafted to Enshrined. Kurt led the Rams to a Super Bowl Championship and was the MVP of Super Bowl XXXIV. He is a 2x NFL League MVP and was the Walter Payton Man Of The Year in 2008. Brian is the most decorated Freestyle Motocross rider in the competition’s history with 14 X-Games medals to his name, including X Games Gold medal in Rally Cross. He also holds the elite distinction of being the only rider to compete in every X Games competition since the games’ inception. In the last year, Brian has dominated the off-road trucking world, taking both Lucas Oil Pro 2 Unlimited and Pro Lite Unlimited Championships, being named Lucas Oil Rookie of the Year in Pro 2 Unlimited, and taking home the 2011 Lucas Oil Driver of the Year. The talent in Brian’s family runs deep as his daughter Halie Deegan became the first female driver to have won races in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West. The band's third CD, Small Town Family Dream, was their highest charting album, debuting at #5 on Top Country Albums, selling 21,000 copies in the US in its first week. The band made several national television performances including an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live and CONAN. The band performed at the 2017 Route 91 Harvest, the scene of the 2017 Las Vegas shooting. Their new album, The Highway Kind, drops on November 13,2020. Episode 423 Tom Laidlaw is a First Class Father and former NHL Defenseman. He was drafted by New York Rangers in 1978 and played for both the Rangers and the Los Angeles Kings. After retiring from the NHL he became the colour commentator for the Kings radio broadcasts. He competed on Survivor: Island of the Idols, the 39th season of the CBS series Survivor. He was the first Canadian-born person to be a contestant on the show. He hosts a podcast called True Grit Life and does some motivational speaking as well. Episode 421 Bill Brown is a First Class Father and Former Navy SEAL. In 2019 he led a unique fundraising effort by organizing a group of more than 30 former and active SEALs to complete the first-ever legally sanctioned swim across the Hudson River to raise money for the GI Go Fund, a nonprofit that helps veterans in need. The swim began at Liberty State Park in New Jersey and ended in Battery Park in lower Manhattan with stops at the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island for pushups and pullups. From Battery Park, the group jogged to One World Trade Center for a ceremony near the 9/11 Memorial. The SEALs repeated the event this year and raised even more money for veterans. Bill is a graduate of Rutgers University and Rutgers Law School. He comes from a military family in which both of his grandfathers and his father are veterans.
