William Hockey, Founder/President of Plaid – Enabling Innovation in Transaction Data Transmission for Financial Services Sep 28, 2017
    Show notes

Whether you're a small developer or a large Fortune 500 company, getting consumers to interact with your app or engage in transactions is the key to your success. Plaid helps to connect 3rd party applications to user's bank accounts, in order to streamline transactions made through those applications, and verifies user identities at set up. It can also help send transaction data to bookkeeping applications. This helps to prevent fraud, by not only verifying that users are who they say they are, but also verifying that companies that use their technology–including big banks, Venmo, Square, and Coinbase–are legitimate. In the future, they hope to expand to 100% coverage of financial services companies and consumers in the US. For more information, visit www.plaid.com.

Vaughn Mckenzie-CEO of Jaak.io – A Real Time Metadata Network and Licensing Solution For The Music Industry Sep 27, 2017
    Show notes

As a musical artist in today's world, it can take two years to syndicate a single piece of work. And with the sheer volume of content on the internet, it's difficult for any once piece to be accurately traced back to its creator. But imagine if artists were able to syndicate their work globally and instantaneously, and get paid for their work the moment that it's heard. Vaughn McKenzie, CEO and co-founder of JAAK, is helping to make that a reality. "When you have one entry point to the global rights databases that exist around the world, you could make that one entry point in the supply chain propagate across everywhere…so if you register once, you register everywhere…everyone knows you made a song and they know who to pay should they decide to use it," says McKenzie. But this is just the first part of the JAAK blockchain-based platform: the second offers a scalable licensing solution that allows for easy access to and the legal use of content by bloggers, developers and entrepreneurs alike. Tune in to learn more. McKenzie also discusses: Meta ID and the decentralization of trust in the network as a means of preventing fraudulent activity The current barriers that people face when they want to use content in their own applications, and how JAAK provides the solution The ways in which JAAK can increase revenue for the creators of content What's on the horizon for JAAK, including the prospect of syndicating TV content

Felipe Huicochea – Founder Of Criptomonedas TV: Promoting Financial Autonomy Through Crypto Education Sep 27, 2017
    Show notes

Imagine waking up and realizing that all of the banks had been shut down and the entirety of your savings had been lost overnight. That's exactly what happened to the citizens of Argentina in the mid 1990s. Amidst a huge economic crisis, they needed solutions. Over the past several decades, the economic situation in the rest of Latin America has become increasingly uncertain, causing many to question the practices of the banking industry. But as a silver lining, something new has emerged in Latin America: increased involvement and interest in the adoption of crypto technology. It's an interest driven by a necessity to break free from government-controlled currencies, and in some cases, to simply obtain everyday goods for sustenance. "There is a huge interest from people to understand the technology and take part in what we think is going to be an incredible shift in the balance of power and wealth all across the world, and that's what we're trying to accomplish: to educate people and put the message out there that….they don't have to live under the thumb of bankers and corrupt governments…they can take control of their own wealth," says Felipe Huicochea. As CEO of Criptomonedas TV, Huicochea has made it his mission to disseminate the knowledge and tools necessary to make that shift happen. Press play to learn more. Huicochea also discusses: · The recent surge of requests for a proof of stake currency in Venezuela · The mitigation of transaction fees through the use of alternative cryptocurrencies (and why Dash communities are growing rapidly) · How and why mass adoption of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies will occur

Tim Draper, Billionaire Venture Capitalist And Speaker At The BTC/ETH/BLOCKCHAIN Superconference Sep 26, 2017
    Show notes

"The world is getting transformed… a lot of entrepreneurs don't realize how extraordinary what they've done is. They are banking the unbanked, they're ensuring the uninsurable," says Tim Draper, who as a billionaire venture capitalist seeks precisely those types of entrepreneurs- the types that focus on ICOs as precursors to greater movements with the potential to affect global change. Draper discusses the current state of the crypto and ICO world, offers unique insight on the future actions likely to be taken by the SEC, and makes predictions about the ways in which blockchain and crypto technology will revolutionize the world."When you're breaking new ground like this, nobody knows what's going to happen with it, nobody knows how to regulate it, nobody really has any idea where it's going…but we all know it's something big." Hit play to hear more. Draper also discusses: · The benefits of utilizing blockchains as ledgers for companies and governments · How blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies will curb the power exerted by governments over their people and serve as a check on fiat currency · Insight on the current state of China and which direction they may be headed in the future

Robert Allen–Founder of Coincube–Traditional index investing tools for the crypto asset space Sep 26, 2017
    Show notes

Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other cryptocurrencies represent a new type of asset class and marketplace for investors to get involved in, similar to traditional markets such as NASDAQ. Index investing has always helped investors take advantage of broad market movements, and Coincube offers free investment software to help open up these new crypto asset markets to investors. Their software connects to 7 different exchanges, and users can pick from pre-selected indexes of the top 10, 20, or 30 crypto-tokens. Users are able to choose between market caps weighting or equally weighted, and the software will buy and sell the appropriate tokens to keep the portfolio allocated the way users want. As Coincube is not currently regulated in such a way that allows them to give specific investment advice, they hope to change this in the near future. Down the road, they are looking at introducing premium accounts with specialized tools, and an investment dashboard to keep track of all user's investment activities. For more information, or to get started investing, visit www.coincube.io.

Pawel Kuskowski – CEO and Co-Founder of CoinFirm – Providing AML Regulation Compliance Using Blockchain Technology Sep 26, 2017
    Show notes

AML, or Anti-Money Laundering, regulations are present in nearly every country worldwide, and have been enacted to prevent (or make significantly more difficult) the act of making money from criminal sources appear legally earned. Because blockchain represents a transfer of value, all companies using this technology have an obligation to negate the risk of money-laundering through their businesses as much as possible. This can be done through AML and Know Your Client (KYC) policies and procedures, and Coinfirm provides the business analysis tools needed for companies to do their due diligence. For more information, visit www.coinfirm.io.

Ken Ramirez – Co-Founder of Alt36 – Platform for Efficient Cryptocurrency Payments Using Dash Sep 26, 2017
    Show notes

Currently, merchants have several issues with taking credit card payments, including high fees and a general lack of transparency. These problems can be solved with crypto tokens such as Bitcoin or Dash, but many users are confused by all the additional services and products needed to efficiently make payments using cryptocurrency–compliance and tax services, AML/KYC regulations, exchange and digital wallet access, and more. Alt36 has created a platform that includes all these additional services, ultimately allowing users to efficiently make payments using Dash cryptocurrency. Using Dash solves many of the problems of other cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin. It also has the ability to provide greater value to industries such as cannabis, who currently operate entirely in cash and have strict compliance regulations. Ultimately, Alt36 plans to help encourage the adoption of Dash, and make it the leading cryptocurrency. For more information, visit www.alt36.com.

Gerald Reihsen–Lawyer and Entrepreneur–Why properly setting up blockchain companies to minimize legal liability matters Sep 25, 2017
    Show notes

Gerald Reihsen, a lawyer, entrepreneur, and speaker at the upcoming Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Blockchain Super Conference in Dallas, offers some thoughts on why it is necessary to properly set up blockchain companies and ICOs to minimize potential civil and criminal liabilities. Many companies are currently being formed with little appreciation of how to build a successful company, and keep it a success for the long term–many are jumping straight in to the deep end of the pool with their ICOs, and have not stopped to consider how upcoming regulations on ICOs and securities might affect their businesses in the future. Though there is currently little in the way of regulation of ICOs in the cryptospace, that won't stop companies, their founders, and exchanges from being liable for failing to follow the regulations that are coming–even if your business is located outside the US, or you don't allow US customers to take place in ICO sales. For more information, visit www.swordshieldlaw.com, or email Gerald at greihsen@swordshieldlaw.com.
