Dr. Julian Hosp, Founder Of Tenx–Mobile Wallet And Debit Card Allowing Real-Life Purchases In Cryptocurrency Oct 11, 2017
    Show notes

In order to make it easier for cryptocurrency holders to spend their coins in everyday transactions, TenX has created a mobile wallet, and connected it to a bank-licensed debit card. Users can load their debit card with cryptocurrency from their wallets–currently Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dash, and ERC20 tokens–and spend those in any online or brick-and-mortar stores with a credit card POS system. Though currently users are only able to exchange cryptocurrency with TenX, the ability to engage in atomic swaps within the mobile app will be available in 2018. Down the road, TenX will support up to 40 different cryptocurrencies, other forms of payment, and allow other users to act as liquidity providers. Dr. Hosp also discusses the future of tokens and the digitization of many different assets, upcoming regulations, and how TenX is planning to use those to build into the future.

    ICO (initial coin offering) Update – What's Happening, Regulation & Investment-Wise Oct 11, 2017
    Show notes

Because of the regulatory uncertainty in the US and around the world regarding tokens and ICOs, many exchanges are hesitant to list new tokens, even when they have paperwork showing that their tokens are not considered securities. The creation of new tokens has not slowed down, putting pressure on regulators to act sooner than they might otherwise. Richard believes that new, commonsense regulations are coming, but will be slightly different than the current regulations on securities and commodities, allowing for the unique nature of the industry. However, he concedes that constant pressure, as well as bad behavior by some ICOs, may ultimately create regulations that are not as fair or permissive as investors may want.

Dr. Ben Goertzel, Founder And CEO Of Singularity Net–An Online Platform At The Intersection Of Blockchain And AI Oct 10, 2017
    Show notes

Designed to be a decentralized, autonomous market for AI technologies, Singularity Net allows users to upload their own AI applications to the platform. Anyone who wishes to can use that technology, and its creator will be compensated for it. In addition, the AI technologies on the platform have the ability to communicate with and reference each other, and can outsource work to each other as needed. Over time, if the various nodes work together often enough, they will learn which other nodes are good AI applications, will pay each other for services, and ultimately will continuously outsource work to trusted nodes, creating stacks of combined AI applications. For more information, or to get involved, visit www.singularitynet.io.

Tomas Draksas, Co-Founder of Edgeless–World's First Fully Transparent, Decentralized Ethereum-Based Online Casino Oct 10, 2017
    Show notes

The main problem of the online casino industry is the centralized nature of their servers. Because these servers are responsible for the random number generation that creates the games, users cannot tell if a casino is cheating its players, making it more likely that they lose against the house. With the use of ethereum-based smart contracts, the random number generation that is essential for the games will be entirely decentralized, meaning that there is no way for the house to cheat. The use of smart contracts will also both increase the speed at which the number generation can take place, and allow for the scalability needed to become a success. Offering black jack, dice, poker, and sports betting, the casino is coming soon. To learn more, or to play once the casino is open, visit www.edgeless.io.

Jake Fields, Founder And CEO Of Treeline–International Firm Creating Mobile Apps, Online Platforms, And IOT Devices Oct 09, 2017
    Show notes

Treeline helps both large companies and startups solve problems and augment resources related to mobile apps and web development, IOT device security, remote monitoring, and product incubation. Having been around for over 10 years, their clients range from the medical field to entertainment, commerce, transportation, and more–any field that would benefit from better technology and increased transparency. Security of IOT devices is one of their main concerns, believing that no matter the device, companies have the responsibility to provide as much security for their users as possible. Though no security is perfect, each component can be designed and created with the highest standards in mind. John Barret, Host of Bitcoinsandgravy.com Podcast-Thoughts On The Importance Of Bitcoin, Both Coin And Underlying Protocol Oct 09, 2017
    Show notes

John Barret, host of the delightful podcast bitcoinsandgravy, is on a mission to make sure that the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency world doesn't lose out on art, music, and entertainment. He has written several songs and parodies about the ecosystem, in an effort to both educate and entertain listeners about the world of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency–especially since the majority of players in the ecosystem remain focused on the technical aspects. He offers some great thoughts on the long-term value of Bitcoin, which he states is the underlying protocol that a cryptocurrency with the same name happens to be built on. Though the coin acts as a reserve currency in the ecosystem, the underlying protocol will create huge change and innovation around the world. Marcello, Demetrick, and Corey, hosts of The Bitcoin Podcast-Thoughts on creating and growing their Bitcoin podcast Oct 06, 2017
    Show notes

Marcello, Demetrick, and Corey, founders, and hosts of The Bitcoin Podcast discuss how they each got into Bitcoin–from an investing standpoint to a computational interest. Initially, their goals for creating the podcast were to educate the general population–and themselves–on the basics of Bitcoin, so that individuals can make an informed decision about whether or not to get involved in the ecosystem. They started out just asking people to come on their show, as part of a roundtable format, and since 2015 have completed over 200 interviews. Their podcast is now part of a network of podcasts, each with their own areas of expertise, from investing, to Ethereum, to people just beginning in the ecosystem. They encourage others to begin their own podcasts, on any topic that interests them, as a way both to learn more and provide information to others who are interested. To start listening to The Bitcoin Podcast and other podcasts in their network, visit www.thebitcoinpodcast.com.

Gaurang Torvekar, Co-Founder Of Indorse- A Professional Network That Lets You Own Your Data and Monetize Your Activity Oct 06, 2017
    Show notes

"We're trying to build a decentralized LinkedIn on the Ethereum blockchain," says Gaurang Torvekar, CTO, and co-founder of Indorse. While the benefits of doing so may not be immediately clear, Torvekar explains three fundamental problems with LinkedIn and other centralized social network sites: a lack of user control over their own data, the monetization of user data (with no return for the user), and the inability to validate user identity and information. By operating on a blockchain, Indorseallows its users to maintain complete control over their data and gain IND token rewards in direct proportion to their activity on the platform. But that's not all: Indorse has a system to ensure that every claim is validated by other users in the network before it ends up on a user's profile. How exactly does that work, and how can we know that it's reliable? Torkevar is eager to explain. Press play to learn more. Torkevar also discusses: * The use of an escrow smart contract in preventing scamming on the platform * New developments on the horizon and the prospect of all new ICOs having an Indorse profile * The different levels of confidence with each profile * How to find out more about Indorse or apply to get into the Private Alpha

John Sacco, Eric Faffenbach, and Chris Bianco– Physical Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Memorabilia Collectors Oct 05, 2017
    Show notes

John, Eric, and Chris each came to collecting through different ways–from childhood collecting, to seeing cryptocurrency memorabilia collecting as a merging of hobbies, to getting involved in the arena as a memorabilia producer at Bitcoin Penny. All of the most popular cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, LiteCoin, Ripple, Ethereum, Monero, and more have collectible coins that interested individuals can purchase. Coins fall into three categories–funded coins, which users can destroy and redeem for actual cryptocurrency; DIY coins, which can have a value assigned to them by the user; and non-funded coins, which are strictly for collecting purposes only. Memorabilia is not limited to coins, but can also include wallets and artwork. There is a variety of quality in these memorabilia, and published encyclopedias detail all the different items out there. Because many of the creators of these memorabilia are well-known, there is not much fraud in the industry. For more information, or to request that they bring specific pieces to the Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Blockchain Super Conference in February, you can contact them through the Bitcoin Talks Forums, in their collecting sub-forums. John goes by the user name minerjones, Eric by hybridsole, and Chris at bitcoinpenny.
