Satoshi Citadel Industries — Miguel Cuneta, Co-Founder — Bitcoin Platform For Remittance Payments To The Philippines Nov 01, 2017
    Show notes

The Philippines is the 3rd largest remittance market in the world behind China and India, with a full 10% of its GDP coming from remittance payments. Satoshi Citadel Industries offers a way for individuals to send payments back to their families, without the standard 8-10% fee or the long wait time for people to receive their money–and with the average remittance size of $200, every penny and second counts. Users are able to send remittances either directly by bitcoin through their website, and they have also partnered with several Korean companies to send remittance payments by changing Korean Won to Bitcoin, and then Bitcoin into Philippine Piso. Receivers are able to choose between having the funds deposited directly into a wallet built into the platform, or pick up their money in cash. SCI also helps facilitate the purchase of Bitcoin in The Philippines and allows users to store and convert their Bitcoin into fiat currency. For more information, visit www.sci.ph.

Algebraix Data — Charlie Silver, Chairman And CEO — Blockchain-Based Platform To Own And Monetize Your Personal Data Nov 01, 2017
    Show notes

Based on the belief that individuals should be able to own and monetize their own personal data, and the goal of getting as many people involved in cryptocurrency as possible, Algebraix Data aims to allow its users to do just that. Users will download the mobile app onto their smartphone, and securely share as much data as they are comfortable with entertainment companies. Based on the data they share, users will be given the opportunity to watch movie or T.V. trailers, and earn Algebraix coin in return. A utility token, Algebriax coin can be saved or traded for other cryptocurrencies. Users will be rewarded with extra coins for posting about the trailers on social media, and will be rewarded for saving their coins through a proof of stake system. The more coins you have, the more influence you have on the site, and the more interest you can earn on your tokens. Once they have a solid user base, Algebraix Data will open up the platform to all types of content. Pre-sale of the Algebraix coin has started already. Alpha testing of the platform starts by the end of November, with beta testing beginning in February, and their ICO launched at SXSW in March 2018. For more information about the platform, or to get started, visit algebraixdata.com. For more information on the token pre-sale, visit www.saftlaunch.com.

Tae-Lim Oh, CEO And Founder Of Gluwa–Buy, Sell, And Pay With Bitcoin Without Worrying About Volatility Oct 31, 2017
    Show notes

Gluwa is a platform that enables its users to buy and sell Bitcoin using fiat currency, and to use Bitcoin for payments, without worrying about price volatility. Buyers are connected through Gluwa to investors who are willing to loan their Bitcoin to others, to be repaid with interest. Because buyers don't actually own the Bitcoin they are using, they are protected from market volatility–that risk is entirely for investors who provide the Bitcoin to others. Most users have no desire to invest in Bitcoin, and are using it temporarily, making it ideal for the casino market in Asia. Gluwa is currently available in South Korea, and is working on expanding to the US by the end of 2017. In the future, Gluwa also hopes to connect investors in countries with large amounts of capital and negative interest rates to emerging economies with low capital and high interest rates, and ultimately to bring Bitcoin to emerging economies as a stable and sustainable currency. For more information, visit www.gluwa.com.

Identity Mind – Neil Reiter, Head of Product Development – Creating trusted digital identities to protect against fraud and money laundering Oct 30, 2017
    Show notes

IdentityMind provides back-end software to 25 cryptocurrency exchanges that helps them meet various government standards for anti-money laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements. This reduces the risk of fraud and identity theft on exchanges, which is a huge concern–if an exchange is hacked, the hacker can get large amounts of money, anywhere in the world, and no one will know who you are. The IdentityMind software can share meta data with all of the exchanges that use it, so a successful customer onboarding on one exchange can be shared with all the rest. The key to reducing the risk to exchanges lies in customer onboarding, by creating a tiered classification of the risk that each customer poses, with different validation techniques for each tier. All of this is done on the back-end, so that customers of each exchange doesn't necessarily know that it is taking place. IdentityMind is also working on a software plug-in that can validate customers against AML/KYC regulations worldwide, depending on where they and the exchange are located. For more information, visit www.identitymindglobal.com.

Ubitquity.Io – Adrianna Mendez (VP Of Marketing), Marina Reznik (Partner), And Nathan Wosnack (Founder) – The First Blockchain Secured Platform For Real Estate Record Keeping Oct 30, 2017
    Show notes

The current real estate record keeping system is slow, inefficient, and has very little transparency. Redressing property rights and other issues is not uniform around the world, or even within the same country. Ubitquity's blockchain record keeping hopes to change that. By recording, storing, and tracking property rights on a system that is parallel to the current paper system, Ubitquity will shorten the wait times for requested records, lower title insurance costs, and even help combat government corruption and backward policies and procedures. Ubitquity currently works on the Bitcoin blockchain, though they are compatible with other blockchains, as well, and are currently focused on North American municipalities. However, they are looking to expand into South America, and have tested their product in Brazil. For more information, visit www.ubitquity.io.

Pavel Niedoba, Co-Founder Of Simple Coin–A Simple Way to Buy and Sell Bitcoin Using Fiat Currency Oct 27, 2017
    Show notes

Simple Coin is just that–a simple way to buy and sell bitcoin using Euros or other national currencies. The Simple Coin website posts their prices, to both buy and sell bitcoin, and users are guaranteed that price for 4 hours. Users then simply state how much in bitcoin they would like to either sell or receive and send their money via wire transfer–necessary, as many Czech banks will not work with bitcoin and cryptocurrency companies. The money that they have purchased is then deposited into their own wallet. Simple Coin is considering creating their own token, and beginning November 2017 will allow exchanges in LiteCoin and Bitcoin Cash. They are also hoping to allow Americans the opportunity to use their platform in the future. For more information, visit www.simplecoin.eu.

Preston Smith, Community Manager at Nexus–A Cryptocurrency and Online Platform Offering a Decentralized Payment Alternative Oct 26, 2017
    Show notes

Nexus is a cryptocurrency and an online platform that intends to offer an alternative to centralized payment systems and Internet. Nexus coin can be used for micro-transactions without large fees, while the Nexus platform intends to use a mesh network of satellites to create a decentralized internet that is separate from the traditional hard lines running around the world. The basis of Nexus is that once quantum computing becomes readily available, other platforms and digital currencies will need to rapidly increase their security. Nexus is building in quantum computing-resistant security features from the very beginning, including a 571-bit private key and hashing algorithms. Additionally, because Nexus has three different mining channels, individuals wanting to dictate how the company operates would need to have 51% of all three channels. Nexus is also building a library of template protocols for developers, as well as developing key suites. This means that individuals won't have to re-use private keys, reducing the ability of quantum computers to sift through strings of data in order to find them. For more information, visit www.nexus.com.

Steve Pannifer, Director of Consult Hyperion–Technology Consulting Firm Specializing in Payment and Identity Transactions Oct 26, 2017
    Show notes

Payment and identity security and transactions are at the core of the consulting work done by Consult Hyperion. During any sort of transaction, users need to be able to pay for services, and companies or government agencies who are providing those services need to be able to verify who is completing the transaction. Identity, in particular, becomes a big issue because most people's digital identities and accounts are safeguarded by passwords only. This can become a weak link if multiple accounts use the same password, causing problems and friction for all parties involved. Individuals may not want their governments to be the keeper of their digital identities, for reasons ranging from privacy concerns to fears that governments may abruptly change. A solution that Consult Hyperion is currently working on in conjunction with the Canadian banking system allows for online identity authentication through distributed ledger technology. Once authenticated, these identities can be encrypted and transmitted through an intermediary to the Canadian government, allowing citizens to access various government services without compromising the security of their identities and related data. For more information, or to work with Consult Hyperion, visit www.chyp.com.
