Iconomi — Ervin Kovac, COO — Ethereum Blockchain-Based Digital Asset Management Platform Nov 30, 2017
    Show notes

In order to build a bridge between the old and new economies, Iconomi has developed a digital asset management platform based on Ethereum smart contracts. Users are able to create their own Digital Asset Array, or DAA, made up of various digital assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dash, and more. Once their asset basket is created, they are secured through a multi-level security system of hot wallets and cold storage that they developed. Assets are secured in the different levels based on the projected number of times a particular asset will be moved, with the highest level of security being multi-signature verification, and guarantee liquidity in the platform. Because they are looking to bridge the old and new economies, Iconomi is easy for both beginners and experts to use, with the ability to both create your own basket or buy into a pre-made basket. In the future, Iconomi is looking at adding more digital assets to their array, will offer the ability to tokenize and manage private funds, and the ability to purchase DAAs with fiat currency. Foundation for Economic Education — Jeffrey Tucker, Head of Content — Online Advocates Of Free Markets, Human Rights, and Up-And-Coming Ideas Nov 29, 2017
    Show notes

The Foundation for Economic Education was founded in 1946, with the publication of translated economics works by Ludwig von Mises, an Austrian immigrant. Since then, FEE has prided itself on its devotion to the ideals of the free market, human rights and dignity, and new ideas in the economics sphere. Today, they have new articles daily bout various topics and even free courses about economics and entrepreneurship. Having seen several economic booms and busts, Jeffrey offers his thoughts on cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies. When FEE published their first article about Bitcoin, it was $14 per coin. Since then, Bitcoin has reached $10,000 per coin. Jeffrey believes that cryptocurrency and blockchain are here for the long run, as they solve old human problems in new ways. Though he forsees some flash crashes, overall he believes that more types of assets will enter the space and that the use cases for blockchain are still in their infancy, with many more to come over the next few years. Coincircle — Erick Miller, Founder and CEO — ICO and Blockchain Advisory Firm for Established Companies Nov 29, 2017
    Show notes

In the process of the successful launch of Unikoin Gold, a token related to sports betting, Coincircle was formed as an advisory firm for established companies who are interested in integrating cryptocurrency tokens and blockchain technology into their business practices. Coincircle chooses to work with companies whose ultimate goal is to provide additional value for both their users and themselves, not just as a fundraising tool. To that end, companies that Coincircle tends to work with have established teams and revenue streams prior to the creation of their token, high growth potential in their chosen market, and their past ability to meet goals. CoinCircle will also be launching their own token, the CircleCoin, which will give holders a percentage of all the coins that have come through the Coincircle platform. Erick Miller, a well-known and influential figure in the cryptospace, also talks with us about his thoughts on the future of cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies, adoption rates, how cryptocurrencies can be used to accomplish meaningful change around the world, and more. He will also be a speaker at the upcoming Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Blockchain Superconference in Dallas, Texas February 16th-18th. For more information, or to get in touch with Erick and Coincircle, visit www.coincircle.com.

Singulardtv — Zach Lebeau, Founder — Ethereum Protocol to Create Decentralized Entertainment Ecosystems Without Intermediaries Nov 27, 2017
    Show notes

SingularDTV's goal is to give artists and creators of all types of entertainment media control over their intellectual property, and the revenue and royalties that come from them. In order to do this, they have created an array of development and production distribution applications, built onto the Ethereum blockchain, where artists and creators can create their own tokens and tokenized ecosystems for fans to engage with. Through these ecosystems, fans can help directly fund artists and creators that they like, as well as upcoming entertainment projects, such as movies and TV shows, that they are interested in while sharing in small portions of the creator's revenues through purchased tokens and by promoting them to others. SingularDTV is currently onboarding several artists and creators in various media, including DJ and producer Gramatik, and are also working to create systems to help media networks manage their libraries of intellectual content. Vantiv — Joshua Mather, Tech Evangelist — Fastest Growing Payment Processor in the US Nov 22, 2017
    Show notes

Vantiv is a publicly-traded payment processor for fiat currency, which is currently the fastest growing payment processor in the US. This is in part because of the open architecture of their website, which offers its merchants and partners access to metrics and fraud-prevention tools, as well as their focus on their relationships with their clients–Vantiv even assigns a single representative to work with each client throughout their relationship with the company. Vantiv processors are fully EMV functional, which they recommend their clients take advantage of, in order to help alleviate problems with charge backs. They partner with all types of businesses, from restaurants to retail, both here in the US and internationally. They are carefully watching developments in the crypto and blockchain spaces, to see how those new technologies may be able to be integrated into the services they offer. Foam — Ryan King, CEO and Co-Founder — Open-Source Proof of Location Protocol for the Ethereum Blockchain Nov 22, 2017
    Show notes

In order to have a trustless system that is able to verify location for smart contracts, Foam is currently developing a spatial protocol that can run on the Ethereum blockchain. This system would give users the ability to verify real-time locations through the blockchain and would be useful in various use cases, including location-based gaming or loyalty rewards programs, supply chains, IOT devices, self-driving cars, mapping functions and applications, and more. Because GPS is easily spoofed, the ability to verify location in real-time adds important commercial value for its users. Despite this, Foam is committed to making their protocol open-source. They have two tracks of development–the first is the spatial index, which they hope to make available to the public by the end of the year, and the second is a pilot proof of concept protocol in order to set gateway nodes and incentivize adoption. Beyond the release of the spatial index, Foam hopes to release a new white paper and website by the end of the year, and begin a token sale in the beginning of 2018. For more information, visit www.foam.space.

Augmate — Pete Wassell, Founder and CEO — Blockchain Security and Device Management Platform for IOT Devices Nov 20, 2017
    Show notes

Augmate allows enterprise corporations to manage all of their company's IOT devices, including glasses and other wearables, from a single blockchain-based platform. Blockchain and distributed ledger technology allow IOT devices to not only be secured with the latest protections, but also allow devices to work with each other, and to create standards for interoperability. In order to accurately be able to charge their consumers, Augmate functions on a fractional license access token called MATE, which has cryptographic coupon attributes. This means that the token is able to be used internally as part of their point system for charging companies for the use of the devices, but also functions as a utility token to give individual users access to the platform. Augmate hopes to be able to expand to the consumer marketplace shortly, as it is estimated that the 4th Industrial Revolution will create 50 billion IOT devices by 2020. For more information, visit www.augmate.io.

Messaging Lab — Karl Schmieder, CEO And Co-Founder — Bringing Life Science Stories To The Public Arena Nov 20, 2017
    Show notes

Messaging Lab is a life science communications and strategy firm dedicated to making science stories more accessible to the everyday person. They will assist companies starting with creating a business strategy, all the way through public relations, which can help companies who either want to bring synthetic organisms into their business model, or even companies that want to get involved in bio-technology but don't know where to start. Because of the interest they have received, both in helping companies develop a bio-technology strategy and learning how to speak with non-scientists about highly technical science stories, Karl has also published a book titled "What's Your Bio-Strategy: How to Prepare Your Business for the Age of Synthetic Biology." In it, he discusses the need for businesses to create their bio-tech strategy now, even though many businesses don't think they will need one for years. Karl also discusses how the field of bio-technology is employing cryptocurrency and blockchain, through ICOs and even the creation of a registry of genetically modified organisms. Overbond — Vuk Magdelinic, CEO — Digital Fintech Platform for Bond Origination from Start to Finish Nov 15, 2017
    Show notes

Overbond is a first of its kind fintech platform that aims to make the process of investing in bonds simpler and more efficient. Through their platform, companies looking to raise money through capital markets are paired with investors who are willing to purchase these bonds. In the past, communication between both parties throughout the lifetime of the bond origination process–including the decision to bring a bond to market, data analytics, price quoting, forming the syndicate, and ultimately distributing the bond to buyers and the settlement–can involve up to 8,000 people, 5,000 phone calls, and 20,000 emails. Overbond's platform allows for much of this communication to be done through them, with the utmost security. This ultimately streamlines the process of bond origination and makes it more efficient for all parties, while cutting down on the constant back-and-forth communication. Currently based in Toronto, Overbond is planning an expansion into the US markets soon. A long-time professional in the bond market, Magelinic also offers us some insights into the industry's past, and some predictions for the future. For more information, visit www.overbond.com.

Coinfirm — Pawel Kuskowski, CEO and Co-Founder — Solutions for Efficient and Transparent Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Nov 14, 2017
    Show notes

Compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations is still one of the biggest challenges facing blockchain and cryptocurrency companies today–not only do these issues have to be dealt with on a global level, but companies have to understand what to look for in terms of high-risk transactions. Coinfirm's software tools promise to help bring cryptospace into AML compliance while streamlining the process. One of their most important tools is the creation of their AMLT network, which allows companies to share data about the risk potential of individuals using their networks, the addresses they use, and the transactions they are apart of. This can help distinguish between legitimate and illegitimate businesses in corrupt places, but also makes the AML process both transparent and democratic. For more information, visit www.coinfirm.io.
