Gospel Technology — Ian Smith, CEO — Securely Distribute Data across Decentralized Infrastructures through Blockchain Jan 08, 2018
    Show notes

Seeing recent problems with the consequences of legacy data enterprise architecture, including several highly publicized data breaches and leaks, Gospel Tech has developed a platform that provides highly secure and trusted transactions for distributed data. Their platform, which connects to different business enterprise applications through APIs, moves security down to the data-level, by placing it on their distributed platform through an encrypted blockchain. To access the data stored on the platform, you need an internal, multi-factor authentication system that creates permissioned entrances for different parties, once certain conditions that have been set by the data's owner are met. This creates trust within the system that the data transaction is entirely valid. Over the next year, Gospel Tech will release the 2.0 version of their platform that is currently in production, which would allow for more robust security and encryption capabilities, and overall a higher level of interaction and integration with existing enterprise data structures. Transfix — Drew McElroy, Co-founder and CEO — A Commerce Platform for the Trucking Industry in the US and Canada Jan 08, 2018
    Show notes

The trucking industry as it exists today is both ubiquitous and highly inefficient, with problems ranging from empty trucks and idle shipments to the inefficient way that shipments are tracked while they are en route to their final destination. Transfix aims to solve both of those problems, by creating a two-part commerce platform, a mobile app for drivers and a web application for customers that need items shipped, that does two things. First, it matches drivers with empty trucks to shipments that need to be moved through the platform. Second, it allows for real-time tracking of shipments as they move across the country and sends alerts when drivers are delayed. This not only allows for more efficient transportation of goods but will save companies money on tracking and shipping costs. Transfix is currently focused on scaling their platform, in order to be able to create more value for both truck drivers and companies, and are hoping to expand to Mexico in the near future. Ultimately, Transfix hopes to become a true commerce platform by expanding into other methods of shipping goods around the world. For more information, visit www.transfix.io.

Wealth Migrate — Scott Picken, CEO — Democratizing Wealth through Commercial Property Investment Platform Jan 04, 2018
    Show notes

There are currently six billion people living in poverty around the world. Many others want to be able to improve their lives through investment opportunities, but either doesn't have the ability to invest as much as large institutions or don't know how to start. Wealth Migrate aims to solve both of these problems and close the wealth gap by connecting individuals to commercial investment opportunities in Australia, England, and the United States for as little as $100, and hopefully in the future for just $1. Through the Wealth Migrate platform, individuals can look at different commercial properties in traditionally safer markets such as multi-family apartments or medical buildings, and will receive quarterly returns proportional to the amount of their investment. Over the last 18 months, Wealth Migrate has moved their operations to the blockchain, in order to provide users with a foundation of trust in the platform. Since then, they have facilitated $67 billion in investments (over $300 billion overall since they first began in 2013), and have investors from 46 countries around the world. They plan to launch their first ICO, the WealthECoin, in early February 2018 to give their users the ability to make investments, access educational resources, build and engage with a community, and more. For more information about their platform, visit www.wealthmigrate.com. For more information about their ICO, visit www.wealthe.io. Canntrade — Mark Restelli, Co-Founder — Wholesale Portal and CRM System for Cannabis Industry Dec 26, 2017
    Show notes

One of the major problems with the cannabis industry is the "web of legality" that exists between different cities and states–a standard Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform is not designed to be used within the cannabis industry. Because of this, there is no way for consumers to legally purchase products and follow all the appropriate city and state legislation. CannTrade helps to solve this problem in two ways. First, it is a CRM platform that is designed specifically for the cannabis industry. Second, it uses geofences to accurately ensure that consumers in different cities in California are following all relevant legislation for their location. CannTrade also simplifies the ability for cannabis businesses to interact with each other, while making sure that each party is legitimate. CannTrade is currently working with partners on a payment processing solution, as currently the entire industry must operate on a Cash on Delivery basis and cannot have a bank account, which can be quite dangerous for all parties involved. Mark also discusses what he sees as the future of the cannabis industry, both domestically and internationally. For more information, visit www.canntrade.com.

Fennie Wang-Ixo Foundation- Tokenizing Social Impact on the Blockchain Dec 22, 2017
    Show notes

The ixo Foundation is filling a vital need in the realm of sustainable development and social impact projects around the world by providing a blockchain-based protocol that allows for the evaluation and measurement of social impact while requiring accountability and transparency from service providers. Backed by UNICEF, ixo is in the midst of a pilot project in South Africa that is digitizing and providing proof of preschool attendance records, which is allowing the preschool to receive subsidies from the Western Cape Government. As it stands, evaluation costs eat up 5-7% of a project's budget. In addition, the data that results are often inaccurate, untrustworthy or simply presented in an unusable format. The ixo Foundation is changing all of this. But that's not all: the ixo protocol allows for private investors to receive a return on capital if pre-agreed outcomes are met for a project. "Once you have the data of where the money is going… you can turn that into its own kind of crypto asset that these projects can trade…and that's where we think crypto and blockchain can contribute a lot towards opening up capital markets for social finance," says Wang. David Henderson- Sweetbridge- A Low-Cost Trading and Banking Platform for Everyone Dec 21, 2017
    Show notes

Sweetbridge offers something Bitcoin may never be able to: a stable token that can be used as a transactional currency for personal lending, transactional trade, and B to B transactions. "It's going to be the most dull coin in existence; it's going to stick to the US dollar….and that stability is what will drive finance and drive the financing of supply chain transactions in the future." Comprised of a team of global contributors building a blockchain alliance, Sweetbridge aims to provide a platform for low-cost banking, interest-free loans and trading for individuals and businesses alike. Among a number of projects in the queue, Sweetbridge is working on the collateralization of standard supply chain crypto assets as a precursor to the release of the Asset Vault, which will allow for those crypto assets to be borrowed against. To date, no other projects have been able to fully accomplish what Sweetbridge is promising. The platform is set to launch early next year, so stay tuned for the latest updates. GazeCoin — Jonny Peters, Founder and CEO — Blockchain Token that Monetizes Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality Worlds Dec 21, 2017
    Show notes

One of the major challenges in the virtual reality and augmented reality space currently is that there is no customized monetization process that allows consumers to move from one VR/AR world to another. Another challenge is that there is no advertising in the VR/AR space. GazeCoin is designed to change that, by providing a blockchain layer in VR/AR worlds that allows users to receive rewards in the form of GazeCoin for interacting with advertisements. Through gaze control and eye tracking, advertisers and GazeCoin know when users interact with advertising and will reward users only when they interact. The use of blockchain allows these interactions and rewards to be auditable so that advertisers know that they are getting a return on their investment. GazeCoin will also allow users to bring tokens they have earned in one VR/AR world and use it in another, creating a seamless transition for users. Jonny also discusses the future of VR/AR worlds, and when the use of these technologies will become more mainstream. For more information, visit www.gazecoin.io.
