A lovely and giddy episode with a properly infectious energy, as Brett hangs with Jon out in LA and gets down to the good stuff from up top to the very end. Maybe along the way you’ll even pick up some new skool slang too - by that, I mean you’ll be able to throw around words like ‘zaddy’ at will. That’s yours to uncover and enjoy. So please enjoy Brett and zaddy Jon as they get into the whole deal, from being an ‘Instagram baller’, to his working relationship with his wife, his multicam version of himself at work and single cam version at home, how accomplishment are often credited to god, the practice (or profession) of selling films but then them never coming out (it’s a thing apparently), being a skilled cryer, the Larry David / Curb-esque childbirth situation of he and his wife, bromance and many anecdotes to keep you hooked. Great stuff!

A splendid slice of film action this week with Brett and Rick, as the two go at it in grand style covering so much ground - from Rick’s show ‘!mpossible’, to just having finished a new screenplay, not working with a faceless mob of nobodies (working with a faceful mob of somebodies then…?), always being an attention seeker which led nicely into his current line of work, being heavily into maths and science as you can imagine but then moving into tutoring after uni, which led onto him tutoring Ruby Wax’s kid, which led onto other things, not having a plan, partaking in a graduate scheme for TV and the slow shift into the medium, some great death talk and death as motivation, therapist Brett making all manner of Freudian connections, doing full 360s on films, and the Stathe. A lovely and lively episode recorded in a secret location in Los Angeles (I mean obviously Brett and Patrick knew where it was) when Brett was over there earlier in the year, which goes all the way into the life, times and psyche of Patrick, all the while showcasing one of the greatest laughs in the business. He’s been working on a ton of stuff over the last decade, including Creep, Creep 2, The Overnight and Corporate Animals to name a mere handful of productions, with a good batch in the cannon too. Here you can expect to be led through a nice chunk of his life via movies as he and Brett get down to it all, including his work on all his films from lo-fi to larger crew productions, the in between takes phone usage of said crews, dealing with problems on set, learning about one’s self, how men deal with being wrong, growing up in the woods, having interesting parents and an equally interesting environment in which to grow up, emotional film interests as a young’un, deep revelations about his own upbringing later in life and a near-Alanis Morissette moment in a cinema. All will make sense (hopefully - especially that last reference…). Enjoy!
