    Show notes

Today on Feminine Roadmap Dr. David Joyette inspires listeners to start fresh with a spring goal reset. Often the topic of goals can be misunderstood or overcomplicated, Dr. David breaks down the essence of what a goal is and how through the course of living your life your goals are accomplished. As we head into the first spring of 2020 and all of the changes the world is going through, this conversation is a simple and encouraging look at how we can take personal responsibility for our lives, attitudes, mindsets and actions to reset our goals. Spring is considered the time to clean our homes, garages, or closets but today we are talking about using spring to reset your goals by evaluating, reassessing and adjusting them to help us stay on course no matter what life brings our way. Sometimes our goals are as simple as how I want to conduct ourselves in conversations or how many steps we want to take before dinner, other times our goals are to get out of debt, buy a house, move to a foreign country. However great or small our goals are, the reset steps are the same and can be easily applied to every goal. FR Ep #141 Victory over Victimhood with Kim Cobb Mar 09, 2020
    Show notes

Today on Feminine Roadmap guest Kim Casey Cobb shares how she used her experience as a missing child to gain victory over victimhood. Kim’s story begins when her parents were going through a difficult divorce, her biological father made the decision to abduct her and her brother during a routine weekend visit. As the years passed, they moved many times to avoid being found, missed a lot of school and found themselves isolated from any family contact. As Kim neared her mid-teens she began to realize that she had to run away of she ever wanted to live the life that she dreamed of. Looking back on those years of being a fugitive with her father then running away to escape her father, Kim has learned to recognize that while her experience was not a common one, it did have some elements that she could use to help other people overcome their own struggles with being stuck in a victim mindset and unsuccessful patterns of behavior. She firmly believes that every situation has its gift, that there is always beauty in the ashes of even the most difficult life circumstances. No matter where you come from, what you’ve been through, how you’ve been hurt, there are mental and emotional processes that you can go through to heal, to deal with the scars that remain and live a life that is fulfilling. The greatest key to change of any kind is the management of our minds, the thought we think about ourselves and our situations. If you find yourself stuck, feeling the victim and can’t seem to find your way to freedom, this is the episode for you! Grab a cuppa something wonderful, a good sister friend and listen to this empowering conversation. Start making those changes in your life today so you can live the tomorrow that you dream of. www.feminineroadmap.com/episode141/

FR Ep #140 How to Defy Ageist Assumptions with Bonnie Marcus Mar 05, 2020
    Show notes

Today on Feminine Roadmap Gina talks with coach, author and podcaster Bonnie Marcus about how to embrace your ambition and defy ageist assumptions to thrive in the world and workplace. Oftentimes women find themselves feeling left behind, looked over or not noticed at all and Bonnie believes it is because women struggle with self-promotion, what they may perceive as bragging or being aggressive. As we learn to embrace our ambitions and defy ageist assumptions we must learn to reframe how we perceive power, success, and ambition, no longer seeing them through a negative lens but instead seeing it as a tool to show how we have and continue to contribute. When we understand what our value proposition is (AKA what we have to offer or contribute) then we can begin to embrace our part in the whole without shrinking back. When it comes to defying ageist assumptions, the challenge is to change how we see age and our “marketability” through the lens of our skills, ability and knowledge not the age we happen to be. Bonnie encourages listeners to reconnect with themselves and focus on who you are, get reacquainted with yourself and what you have done to get to this point in your life. When we break free of the limiting ageist assumptions we no longer play small, we no longer allow others to define us but we truly step into celebrating and honoring ourselves for who we are capable of being. Grab a cuppa something wonderful, an awesome girlfriend and share this episode together. Go ahead, embrace your ambition and do it your way! www.feminineroadmap.com/episode140/

FR Ep #138 How to Get Unstuck with Mia Hewett Feb 27, 2020
    Show notes

Today on Feminine Roadmap Gina and her guest Mia Hewitt talk about how to get unstuck. Mia believes that anything you think is the problem really isn’t the problem actually because due to our past history and beliefs we can often find ourselves trying to solve the wrong problems. We have a tendency to look outside of ourselves to the circumstances and situations around us as the issue when in actuality it is really internal. Since we are not looking at the right causes we can feel stuck because we think we should be able to figure things out, think our way through. Mia encourages listeners to consider looking at that feeling stuck differently. If you want to know how to get unstuck, she points to the traumas to our hearts and minds as children that have become the walls we hide behind to protect ourselves. Trauma by her definition is as simple as broken trust or the strong presence of shame or guilt that in the moment we attach to our self image, we believe something is “wrong with me”. When we come to realize many of these traumas are misconceptions and misunderstandings we can begin to break through the shackles of trauma so we become unstuck and begin to shine our light from a place of freedom. Grab a cuppa something wonderful, a friend and a journal, listen to how you can get unstuck! www.feminineroadmap.com/episode138/

    Show notes

Today on Feminine Roadmap Gina and her guest, Denise Broadwater, talk about how to thrive through an empty nest. One of the greatest transitions parents go through in life comes when their children leave the nest and begin to fly. Many times, parents are caught off guard by how much this impacts them emotionally, psychologically and physically. Thriving through an empty nest is a journey that can begin long before the nest is actually empty as parents choose to build independence and autonomy into their children. Denise shares very practical and actionable steps that parents can take in how they think, act and speak to their children during the empty nest season. She covers how to adapt to new holiday traditions, being intentional about how we respond to the changes, avoiding using guilt, finding joy in the times we do have with our adult children and more. Denise has navigated empty nest and has written a book about a project she and her husband took on after their children left home. Her experience has given her the ability to confidently encourage and empower each one of us to thrive through an empty nest and go on to build new and wonderful traditions as time goes on with complete joy. FR Ep #136 Freedom from Depression with Beverly Easler Feb 20, 2020
    Show notes

Today on Feminine Roadmap, Gina’s guest Beverly Easler talks about her journey of freedom from depression. Beverly spent her life behind the keys of a piano, the piano was her life and her identity. For years she felt invisible and misunderstood, as if she didn’t belong anywhere which lead her down the foggy road of depression. Beginning at age 45 Beverly began journaling, recording her thoughts and struggles and seeking professional help to deal with her depression through therapy. Therapy became her turning point to freedom from depression, it was a slow, sometimes foggy path that gave her glimpses of the freedom she sought. She began to understand her self better, who she was and how she fit into the world, her faith and how that empowered her. As Beverly grew she realized the impact her choices, her lack of boundaries and the thoughts she was thinking were having on her internal world. She had an a-ha moment, her freedom from depression came when she realized who and whose she was, that she was a child of the King, nothing else could define her outside of that reality. If you find yourself struggling to understand who you are in this world or struggle with feelings of depression, Beverly’s story will give you the courage to step into your own power and know that you are enough as you are, you can be you without permission from other people.
