EP.080 | Jessica Webster - The Art of Fitness Marketing Jan 19, 2018
    Show notes

"Marketing is no longer about the stuff that you make, but about the stories you tell." - Seth Godin • Feed Me Fuel Me (@feedmefuelme) episode 080 with Jessica Webster - The Art of Fitness Marketing • Jessica Webster (@jessicawebster_) brings the heat this week on Feed Me Fuel Me (@feedmefuelme)! The co-host of her newly launched podcast, The Fitness Breakroom (@fitnessbreakroom), brings to light the best and brightest from around the fitness industry and showcases how they became the subject matter experts that they are today. Jessica's journey is one the personifies "self discovery". With a background in journalism, she saw that print media was at a standstill and found her way into a marketing agency in southern California. A coworker of hers took the leap and opened a CrossFit (@crossfit) box down the street and introduced her inner beauty as well as her inner strength. In a place where women were celebrated for being strong, and the community drove the results experienced by the collective, Jessica asked herself a simple question, "Why doesn't everyone know about this?" The answer lied within her, and Jessica found her niche in fitness marketing, specifically telling the story of box owners and their respective communities. This path lead her to Barbell Shrugged (@barbellshruggedpodcast) where she immersed herself in the presence of Mike Bledsoe (@mike_bledsoe), Doug Larson (@douglaselarson), Adee Cazayoux (@adeecazayoux), Aaron Hinde (@aaronhinde), Brian Mackenzie (@iamunscared), and many more heavy hitters in the business of fitness. Her experience behind the scenes, and as an active participant in the Barbell Mastermind taught her many lessons about personality types, telling your story well, and stretching your comfort zone to become the person you need to be in order to accomplish great things. Since relocating to Canada, Jessica is rolling on all cylinders bringing the mission and vision of her clients to the masses. Her passion lies in seeing others realize their greatest selves, and has manifested a life that facilitates her passion while helping others. Join us as we dive into Jessica's journey this week on Feed Me Fuel Me! • Let us know how you enjoyed this episode. Make sure to Rate, Comment, & Subscribe. EP.079 | Derick Vogel - The Credit Yoda Jan 12, 2018
    Show notes

"Character can not be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved." - Helen Keller • Feed Me Fuel Me (@feedmefuelme) episode 079 with Derick Vogel - The Credit Yoda • Although the journey can be lonely, once you realize that you are not alone, you will go on to accomplish great things. This week on the Feed Me Fuel Me Podcast, we have the Credit Yoda himself, founder and CEO of Credit Absolute (@creditabsolute), Derick Vogel (@dluv143). This week we'll dive deep into Derick's journey of rebellion that transitioned into a path of self-discovery and servitude. As a young man, so much was impressed upon Derick without the proper purpose or understanding that solidifies the lessons as they were intended. Because the purpose of these teachings was not clearly defined, Derick put his foot down and decided to walk his own path for better or worse, ruining a great many relationships in the process. Even so, he developed a trait that is the linchpin of his success to date, resiliency. He has been able to overcome everything from an accident that severely impaired his vision in one eye, to being one bad decision away from losing his marriage/family and heading to prison. Derick has manifested an amazing life, and it was not without some hard lessons learned. Above all, he has learned that listening with intent, and serving without expectation of reciprocity are the bedrock with which to build a quality relationship upon. These lessons were not learned in school, they were learned through the application of teachings from the mentors Derick has found himself in the company of along the way. Indeed, without adversity, and the dissolving of his ego, all the seeds Derick has planted would never have grown. Listen to the lessons of his journey, and how he invites others to learn from his journey on episode #79 of the Feed Me Fuel Me podcast! • Let us know how you enjoyed this episode. EP.077 | Cori Baker - Moving On Is Not Giving Up Dec 15, 2017
    Show notes

"To embark on the journey towards your goals and dreams requires bravery. To remain on that path requires courage. The bridge that merges the two is commitment" - Dr. Steve Maraboli • Feed Me Fuel Me (@feedmefuelme) episode 077 with Cori Baker - Moving On Is Not Giving Up. • We can all learn a huge lesson from our guest this week on the Feed Me Fuel Me Podcast! Cori Baker (@cori_fit) took good hard look at here meteoric rise from amateur bikini competitor to placing 18th at the Olympia (@mrolympiallc). No stranger to competition, and the setter of lofty goals, Cori has always held herself to a high standard. At what cost? Cori has evolved from collegiate athletics, to competitive CrossFit, to an IFBB (@ifbb_official) pro card. Upon realizing the potential she had to climb to the Olympia stage, she dove in, head first. In the course of 13 months, she competed on stage in 11 bikini shows. Just recently, this mother of two took a step back and reassessed her priorities. She decided that, the commitment to raising two awesome kids, outweighed the time and commitment to show prep. She came to the realization that as much she preaches balance, she was living out of balance. Cori, ever so humble, with an inferno of drive burning inside her, has managed to maintain her authenticity without falling in love with her celebrity. Rather than live a life contrary to her truth, she has decided to retire from the world of bodybuilding and pursue a life in which the opportunities that present themselves allow her to maintain a healthy balance between career and family. Join us as we dive into Cori's journey this week on Feed Me Fuel Me! • Let us know how you enjoyed this episode. Make sure to Rate, Comment, & Subscribe. EP.076 | Marc Accetta - Pay Attention. Get Excited. Never Quit. Dec 08, 2017
    Show notes

"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself" - Marc Accetta • Feed Me Fuel Me (@feedmefuelme) episode 076 with Marc Accetta - Pay Attention. Get Excited. Never Quit. • How often do we fall victim to our own negative self-talk? This week's guest, Marc Accetta (@marcaccettatraining), founder of Marc Accetta Seminars talks about removing the "dream stealers" from you life: those haters and naysayers that all too often can be disguised as friends and family trying to "protect" you. Worst yet, what if that dream stealer is you? What if you are the one talking yourself out of your own greatness. Marc talks about the value of mentorship in combatting your dream stealers, overcoming your own negative self talk, and realizing your true potential. Marc's model for success is quite simple: find someone who has what you want, and duplicate what they've done to get it. He lives by the mantra, "Pay Attention. Get Excited. Never Quit." Marc wasn't born a walking inspiration. No, actually quite the opposite. He grew up with the expectation of average, and at the age of 27 he found himself going through the motions with no direction. Enter, Marc's mentor. He showed him that it is ok to expect more of yourself, and those around you. Marc realized that there was more in life, and the was not only able to accomplish more, he was deserving of more. Marc has since dedicated his life to showing people the lessons he's learned and proving time and time again that there is indeed a better life to live. Marc has indeed come a long way, and as you will hear him tell it, has quite a ways to go. Hop on the train and join us as we learn from Marc's journey this week on the Feed Me Fuel Me Podcast! • Let us know how you enjoyed this episode. Make sure to Rate, Comment, & Subscribe. Show notes

"To succeed, you have to believe in something with such a passion that it becomes a reality" - Anita Roddick • Feed Me Fuel Me (@feedmefuelme) episode 072 with Cail Farquharson - For The Love • There is great satisfaction to found when your passion is bigger than your paycheck. Our guest this week, Cali Farquharson (@califarq), is fortunate enough to have passion driving her persistence for greatness. A high achiever in high school and on to Arizona State University, Cali now finds herself on roster of the Washington Spirit (@washingtonspirit) playing for the National Women's Soccer League (@nwsl). EP.071 | Elliott Clark - Earn Your Booze Nov 03, 2017
    Show notes

"There are three ingredients in the good life: learning, earning, and yearning" - Christopher Morley • Feed Me Fuel Me (@feedmefuelme) episode 071 with Elliott Clark - Earn Your Booze • On this episode of Feed Me Fuel Me we sit down with the Apartment Bartender, Elliott Clark (apartment_bartender) as he recounts his transition away from a life of "smiling and dialing" in his former corporate gig, to doing what he loves and creating value in the craft cocktail space, specifically for the at-home bartenders out there. It is funny how life happens, isn't it? All it took was a camera, and chance cocktail course his buddy found on Groupon to light Elliott's fire. A year ago this week Elliott celebrate's his departure from his day job. He now spends his days not only highlighting his latest cocktail recipe (some even go really well with waffles, just check his IG), but also developing brand footprints in the social media space. Just recently the Apartment Bartender has collaborated with FMFM alum Justin Cross (@the_alpha_ale) and launched the Earn Your Booze campaign (@earnyourbooze), an honest merging of two worlds often played against each other as mutually exclusive: fitness and boozing. Earn Your Booze, with these two at the helm, is a celebration of moderation, and how we engage in a brew or two with those that we just crushed a workout with. There is just as much art as there is science to all that Elliott has accomplished on his journey, and he shares some of those lessons learned with us. Have a listen as we raise a glass, and toast to gains with Elliott on the latest episode of the Feed Me Fuel Me Podcast! • Let us know how you enjoyed this episode.
