a.If you’re in a Dynasty League owner, would you be trying to sell or buy?
6.Twitter Question: Would you have the cahones to drop Harper for Chas McCormick or Riley Greene? It is a keeper league so there’s that element as well. Thanks! DID NOT GET TO

Segments 1 and 2 – Review of weekend games
    Additional Questions
1.I know the Cardinals have underperformed, particularly on the pitching front, but Steven Matz has surprising pitched well. ERA of 3.86, xERA of 3.89. What did everyone miss coming into the season with him?
2.George Kirby or Logan Gilbert. As the great Kevin McCalister said…Do you give up, or are you thirsty for more?
3.Well, we got a few good weeks from Mickey Moniak, but he’s been brutal for the last two weeks. He’s 7 for 52 with 25 strikeouts. So, you are the guru of the waiver wire game of catch and release. Is it time to release Moniak?
4.Are you ready to trust Sandy Alcantara after his shutout of the Yankees on Saturday, or are you still worried?
a.If the season ended today, the Yankees would not make the playoffs. Will that be the case at the end of the season?
5.Curtis Mead. I still don’t see how he gets full-time playing time. Has your position changed from last week, or do you still think people should be running him out there?
a.What about the Davis Schneider? What do we do with him? He had a big day on Monday, but 1 for 12 after that.

    Podcast Notes – All Request
    1. Sweet, thanks for the offer! I’ve had Luis Robert for a while (dynasty 12 team 6x6) and finally, a year he is really putting it together - I don’t love the injury history, part of me wants to trade high. Am I crazy for trading away a 50 HR bat who is only 26?
    2. What’s the status with Dl Hall? Is he still a elite prospect? Bullpen arm? He was dropped in Dl6 and I was able to pick him up for $41 with no other bids
    3. I have Sal Frelick in a dynasty league and people are making offers. I like him, but feel like he has a pretty low ceiling. Thoughts on comps for his floor and ceiling for him.
    4. Should I be running out and grabbing Lawrence Butler?
    5. Good call on Cole Ragans. He looked great in his start on Monday. What did you know that the Rangers didn’t when they wanted to throw him in the bullpen.
    6. Who do you think will win the Rookie of the Years this year and next.
    7. What’s wrong with Luis Severino? How does he find his way back to being a decent pitcher again?
    8. Odds Ethan Salas makes pro debut while 18.
    Tim’s pickups
    · Lawrence Butler
    · Mike Clevinger

    5. Gavin Stone (LAD)

    Show notes

    Fantasy Baseball Live – August 6, 2023 @ 3 pm.
Segments 1 and 2 - Review of this weekend’s game
    Additional Questions
1.The Marlins come to their senses and bring back Eury Perez. He will pitch on Monday.
2.Trea Turner had a good game on Saturday with a three-run home run, but he’s been moved to eighth in the batting order and is taking a beating in Philadelphia. He’s still on pace for a 15/25 season, but he’s posting a sub .300 OBP. He’s striking out more but his BABIP is sub .300 for the first time in his career. Not what you wanted when you took him as a Top 3 player, but where does he drop next to next season and are you interested?
3.Curtis Mead was promoted before Friday’s contest. He’s spent a lot of time on the IL season, so it was a surprise he go the call. Where does he play? Does he play?
4.The Orioles quietly optioned Tyler Wells during the trade deadline news after pitching to a 6.83 ERA in July. I did a baseballsavant breakdown and he is what he is. A number four/five starter. Does he get a chance in the second half? Would you be picking him up?

2098 - Tim and Rich discuss the deadline trades Aug 05, 2023
    Show notes

Take 10 with Tim – Trade deadline review
We will review some of the big trades and discuss the players involved.
1.The Astros acquired Justin Verlander from the Mets for two outfield prospects, Drew Gilbert and Ryan Clifford
a.The Astros and Verlander reunite. They are surging. Is this enough to overcome/hold off the Rangers
2.The Rangers acquired Max Scherzer from the Mets for LuisAngel Acuna and pay a pick part of his salary.
a.The Rangers acquire Jordan Montgomery and Chris Stratton from the Cardinals for Thomas Sagesse, Tekoah Roby, and John King
b.The Rangers remake 40% of their starting rotation and give up some prospect capital in doing it. Does this help/hurt Scherzer and Montgomery’s fantasy output?
3.The Marlins acquired Josh Bell from the Guardians for Khalil Watson and Jean Segura, whom they released
a.They also acquired Jake Burger from the White Sox for Jake Eder
b.They then acquired Ryan Weathers from the Padres for Garrett Cooper
c.WOW…you got to give the Marlins credit for trying. Do you know what they are doing? Will it work?
d.In Cleveland, is Kyle Manzardo a player that people should be targeting? Isn’t the path open for him?
4.The Orioles acquired Jack Flaherty from the Cardinals for Cesar Prieto and Drew Rom
a.A lot of people were disappointed that the Orioles didn’t do more, what is your take?
b.Does Flaherty help them? Will he better than his 4.43 ERA has been this year with the Cardinals?
5.So the Mets… They trade many of their older players and according to Max Scherzer will likely not compete next season. There’s also rumors that they will shop Pete Alonso and Nimmo over the winter.
a.It feels like what the San Diego Padres did circa 2014-15 when AJ Preller was just hired. He brought in many big-name players to win (James Shields, Matt Kemp, Ryan Haniger, Wil Myers (the big deal that sent Trea Turner to Washington), etc., to dismantle it and start over again with Tatis Jr. as the base.
b.Your thoughts on what they are doing?
c.We will talk about what that team might look like the rest of the year and next.
6.The Angels brought in a bunch of players as well. Lucas Giolito, CJ Cron, Randal Grichuk.
a.Does this push them over the threshold?
b.Is this enough to convince Ohtani to stay?
    c.Pickups in Colorado?
7.Any other trades of note for you?
8.What one hitter will you be targeting this weekend?
9.What one pitcher will you be targeting this weekend?
