1.Shohei Ohtani is done of the season. He’s cleared out his locker and perhaps is done with the Angels. We will discuss.
2.Joey Wiemer is optioned to the minors. Fantasy managers like the 13 home runs and 11 stolen bases, but a nearly 30% K-Rate and 8% walk rate won’t cut it with a team that values OBP skills.
    a.Thoughts for him long-term.

5.Have we seen the last at-bat for Shohei Ohtani for the season? He hasn’t played since September 3rd. He’s out with an oblique, but of course the Angels didn’t put him on the IL
6.I just finished writing the Pittsburgh Pirates minor league system. While I like the system very much, I’ve liked it for the past few years. But their players have just not performed. Hayes, Contreras, End Rodriguez, Mitch Keller, and Henry Davis.
a.They look great in the minor leagues and then underperform once they get promoted to the Majors.
7.Give me on hitter that you will target for this weekend’s FAAB?

    Additional Questions:
1.With Wander Franco out indefinitely, the Rays are turning to Taylor Wells. What are your thoughts on a possible pickup?
2.Ronny Mauricio is hitting everything in sight with crazy exit velos 117 MPH and has already stolen a base. I’m assuming you will recommend him as a pickup.
3.Blake Snell pitched another shutout. Call me cynical, but I’ve seen his story so many times. A player who is entering his free agent year puts up an unsustainable year and then gets overdrafted the next year only to crush fantasy manager’s souls. Is this what we will see with Snell?
4.Trea Turner has woken up. Is he back to being in the first round next season?
5.Aroldis Chapman has been brutal of late, losing another game on Saturday. Will he get taken out of the closer role?

    2110 - September Call-ups Sep 01, 2023
    Show notes

    Take 10 with Tim – September 1st
1.What are your strategies for the last month of the season?
2.I think the Yankees are doing the right thing by waiving Josh Donaldson and Harrison Bader. I know about the report that Bader found out about the move on TV, but that’s hard to believe. I know they are the hated Yankees, but they’ve always had a reputation for doing right by their players.
a.Your thoughts on the move and anything else you want to discuss
3.The September call-ups are underway. This is who we have so far.
a.I just saw Jasson Dominguez last week in Double-A, and he’s reportedly being called up. I’ll preview him as I’ve seen about 100 at-bats of him.
    b.Austin Wells (C, NYY)
    c.Ceddanne Rafaela (OF, Bos)
    d.Ronny Mauricio (IF/OF, NYM)
    e.Kyren Paris (SS, LAA)
    f.Nick Loftin (SS, KC)
4.The Angels waved the white flag on Tuesday, putting a quarter of their roster on waiver, including Lucas Giolito (Cleveland), Reynaldo Lopez (Cleveland), Matt Moore (Cleveland), Dominic Leone, Hunter Renfroe (Reds), and Randal Grichuk. Harrison Bader (Reds)
a.Do any of these players interest you from a fantasy standpoint? If so, who?
b.Any thoughts on who gets their playing time?
c.I know we’ve talked to this way too much, but what the heck are the Angels doing?
5.Someone from Barstool put out a clickbait tweet saying the following: Is it crazy to think that Mookie Betts will retire a better player than Mike Trout?
    a.What say you?
6.I really liked the Royals' acquisition of Cole Ragans, as I didn’t like the way the Rangers were handling him. He’s doing ok
a.Let’s talk about the pitcher he can become?
7.Michael Brantley has finally returned. Any interest?
8.Just when you thought Alex Lange had some things figured out, he crushes your soul. He and Aroldis Chapman are reminding all of us what the Closer Report is suppose to look like – Chaotic.
    a.Thoughts?
9.What hitter will you be targeting this weekend?
10.What pitcher will you be targeting this weekend?

    5. Chase Petty (Cin)

    2108 - Waiver Wire - August 27, 2023 Aug 28, 2023
    Show notes

    Fantasy Baseball Live – August 27, 2023 @ 3 pm.
Segments 1 and 2 - Review of the weekend games.
    Additional Questions
1.Shohei Ohtani is done pitching for the year when an MRI revealed he had a torn UCL in his elbow. I guess if you have him rostered in a fantasy league and can play him at either UT or SP, you are playing him at UT, so maybe the short-term effect is not too bad. However, it's still a brutal blow.
    a.Thoughts
b.Thoughts on what this means for teams in the off-season who might want his services.
2.More impactful for fantasy managers this season might be the potential loss of Felix Bautista for the rest of the season.
    a.Thoughts
b.I’m assuming the pickup is Yennier Cano?
3.Wander Franco has been put on Administrative Leave until further notice.
a.How are you advising fantasy managers to handle in one-year leagues? Dropping or holding on?
4.On a happier note, the Mariners caught both the Rangers and Astros. Who had that on their bingo cards?
a.Hot streak or can they make this move stick?
