Episode 134: Making Adult Friends Jan 14, 2021
    Show notes

We’re back! Welcome to the first episode of Trailercast in 2021. We did it. We made it to the new year. Last week I reached out to my Instagram community and asked “What would you like more of in 2021?” and one theme that came up time and time again was friendship. Adult friendships. How to make new friends as adults, how to navigate tricky friendship dynamics as adults, and to nourish and care for adult friendships, when there are so many more demands on our time than there was when we were younger. So in this episode, as a fellow sojourner, I touch on just that! And not only I dive into the topic of friendship, I also do some checking-in, reflecting, dreaming and offer a bit of encouragement as we step into this new season. Cheers!

    Episode 133: Trailercast 2020 Wrap Up Dec 17, 2020
    Show notes

Welcome to this very special episode of Trailercast!

Today we are going to take some time to say a “goodbye” to 2020 and reflect on all that this unprecedented year has been for us, both collectively and individually. We look at rules vs. rituals, and the importance of how rest fits into the whole picture as we head into a new year. We ask, how can we move out of 2020 and into 2021 in a way that feels the most honest and kind and true to ourselves? How do we maintain and hold onto who we are in this next season? What was 2020 like for you?

Join me in an exercise as we scan through the months and ask ourselves the good/hard questions. What do you need to leave in 2020? And what do you need for 2021? This special new years episode isn’t about hustling harder or setting strict rules for ourselves, but rather, about moving through our lives in the most beautiful, loving and free way we that can. We get to choose.

Thank you, dear listeners, for tuning in this and going on this journey with me this year. I’m forever thankful for you. Cheers!

Episode 132: The Highly Sensitive Person Interview with Dr. Tracy Cooper and Andy Lara Dec 10, 2020
    Show notes

In this episode of Trailercast I have the privilege of sitting down with Dr. Tracy Cooper, PhD, alongside my friend Andy Lara, and interviewing him on what it means to be a Highly Sensitive Person. We discuss what the experience is of someone living as a highly sensitive person, what that even means, how to understand it for yourself, and as a partner, friend or as a parent of a someone with high sensitivity. And in addition to giving great information on HSPs, this episode also highlights how helpful it is when we are given the right language for our lived experience. How it can set us free to discover that we are not alone in the way we process the world. This episode gives a great example about what can happen when people get curious about their own human experience, and all the different ways that we get to be free. You can find out more about Dr. Cooper's work on his website, and take the Highly Sensitive Person test here, on the website of Dr. Elaine N. Aron, Ph.D.

    Episode 131: A Conversation with Naomi Dec 03, 2020
    Show notes

This episode is a special one, because I get to sit down and have a conversation with a long-time Trailercast listener and OG Weekends participant. Namoi and I talk all about change, Weekends and some of the unexpected gifts that the COVID shutdown has brought. We talk about career, and knowing when it’s time to stay or time to move onto something new. We talk about the idea of possibility, and the energy that the “maybes” can open up for us. How do we honor a need for structure and stability, along side a wild spirit? We also talk about the double edge sword of awareness. How when we do enough of our own work and become aware of our own “stuff,” it can be both liberating and at times exhausting. How do we receive the invitation of awareness without also RSVPing to shame? How do we move from awareness into action and liberation? Part of my main focus is helping women stand in their own power and be witnessed. To hold up a mirror and reflect back all that glory. This is part of the work of Weekends. If you’ve ever been curious about what we do there, or if it’s something you’d like to be a part of, this is the episode for you.

    Episode 127 - A Conversation with Leith Nov 05, 2020
    Show notes

Welcome to today’s episode! I am so honored to share my conversation with my friend Leith McHugh with you. Leith and I met during an intensive retreat for mental health professionals, and she is here to share her story and an incredible amount of wisdom with us. Wisdom that was hard won, and comes from real, raw life experience. I knew that I had to have Leith on to share her story with you. Especially now, in the context of 2020 and the massive amounts of chaos and turmoil this year has brought. At times it all feels impossible to navigate, and Leith’s story reminds us that even when it feels like we are in the shore pound and it just doesn’t stop, maybe there is something we can do about it. She shares with us the way that her family, in the midst of immense loss and pain, stopped and rebooted their lives completely. She reminds us that we don’t have to stay in the old story, that we can start over and build something new. You can learn more about the work Leith does and connect with her at https://www.leithmchugh.com/ or on Instagram @leithmchugh

    Episode 126: A Conversation with Krystal Oct 30, 2020
    Show notes

In this Trailercast conversation, listen in as I talk with Krystal about the fear of being visible. What happens when you say “yes” to letting yourself be seen? What is the difference between visibility and exposure? Witness real work happening in real time, and hopefully learn some good tools that you can take for yourself as we do a visualization exercise aimed at helping getting us unstuck and moving forward on a strong, sturdy path. This episode reminds me that this really is meant to be a shared experience. Trailercast, the therapeutic journey, life… all of it. If you want to find out more about Krystal and her self-realization coaching, you can find her at: https://inspireyourdamnself.net/

    Episode 125 : Holy Disruption Oct 21, 2020
    Show notes

I hope you are ready, because this Trailercast conversation is fire! We jump right in, and I’m so glad you get to listen in on this important work. I’m still reeling from how incredible it was to watch this amazing woman step into her power and strength. In this conversation, we talk about our stories of origin and the way that we often choose the familiar story, though it often no longer serves us. We talk about how to restore those core beliefs. How to choose the counter narrative. How to learn where we need to step out of the old story, or someone else’s story, and into our own. How to recognize what is not ours to carry in the first place. In this episode you get to listen in as my friend embarks on the heroine’s journey. A shared journey. As you listen in, my hope is that you can find yourself somewhere in her story, and know that healing can be yours. You too, are on a hero or heroine’s journey. The time is now.
