Does anyone really care about how much money Nebraska gives their next coach? Nov 17, 2022

Show notes

-Money is ALWAYS a part of the conversation for fans in terms of overpaying or not, and many will say they don’t care what the next coach makes, and then turn around and say WOW if it is more than we’ve ever seen before

-We are trained here to always say that money is not an issue and then turnaround and say that it’s a lot of money for a coach…does it matter anymore? You don’t want to be stuck like Texas A&M with Jimbo Fisher…

-Also, can you imagine a 3-to-6 FOOT snowstorm coming to your city? That’s the case in Buffalo this weekend, with the Bills scheduled to have a home game against the Browns…

Why can’t Nebraska beat Wisconsin if Casey Thompson ends up playing? / Shut Up Sipple (sponsored by Bagels & Joe) Nov 16, 2022

Show notes

-Mickey Joseph said yesterday that Casey’s been throwing more but wasn’t sure yet if would play on Saturday, but it’s a definite possibility after missing the previous 2 games

-Vegas has Wisconsin as a heavy favorite, but why can’t Nebraska beat them if Thompson ends up playing? It’s been 10 freaking years since the last win against Wisconsin. Sad, pathetic, bad. Needs to end.

If Mickey Joseph isn’t named the next coach at Nebraska, did he get a fair chance in his long-term interview or not? Nov 16, 2022

Show notes

-Mickey had 9 games to try and turn around the in-season mess at Nebraska that Scott Frost left after losses to Northwestern and Georgia Southern. He fired Erik Chinander after one week on the job, and Bill Busch was promoted to DC and has done a very fine job in that role

-Mickey can’t control the way the roster was constructed, and he can’t help that his starting QB got hurt in the middle of a game they were winning (against a ranked Illinois team), and that he didn’t have that QB against Minnesota or Michigan.

-We knew the deck was stacked against him, but did Mickey get a fair shot at this thing?

Sean Callahan (Husker Online) Nov 16, 2022

Show notes

-Let’s pause the rumor mill for a second---do you believe a hire will be announced at any time prior to the season concluding against Iowa?

-Mickey Joseph says he wants to stay on with Nebraska even if not named the head coach…do you think that would cause any problem with a potential head coach coming in? Who wouldn’t want an ace recruiter?

-Does your opinion on National Signing Day essentially moving to December change when you have a new coach hired and it gives him zero time to get a class?
