Nick Saban is doing the opposite of what Urban Meyer is doing in terms of putting expectations for his former program Jul 16, 2024

Show notes

-Remember the other week when Urban Meyer (and Jim Tressel) both said that this year’s Ohio State team is the most talented they’ve ever seen? That put some heat on Ryan Day to deliver big…

-Yesterday at SEC Media Days, Saban was on the broadcast and predicted Georgia and Texas to make the SEC Title Game, citing concerns with Alabama’s secondary as to why he didn’t think he could pick them

-Some people online said this was Saban saying the team won’t be as good without him; others said it’s taking pressure off of Kalen DeBoer in his first season with the Crimson Tide

Nick Saban was LONG the king of the SEC—and college football---is Kirby Smart now that man and who will push him for that title? Jul 15, 2024

Show notes

-No one would ever push back on the greatness of Saban, who retired this past offseason at Alabama and was replaced by Washington’s Kalen DeBoer

-With SEC Media Days beginning today, there’s lots of storylines in the conference—especially with the additions of Texas and Oklahoma---but there could be a power battle in terms of head coaches

-If Kirby Smart is No. 1 in the conference, is it close for No. 2? Can you put DeBoer there yet ahead of his first year with the Crimson Tide?
