Dana Holgorsen addressed media on Friday and said Dylan Raiola is making throws he hasn’t seen before and the offense has big-play potential….surely fans won’t guzzle the Big Red Kool-Aid! Aug 18, 2025

Show notes

Holgorsen met with media and said he was hoping to see sustained, 8+ play drives from the offense in Saturday’s scrimmage, but also noted that Raiola has been making some very impressive throws and the offense has showed some explosive capabilities

Can an offense be too dependent ever on big plays? Or can it be the other way where sometimes offenses are too dependent on long drives without the big play?

Michigan’s NCAA penalties in the sign-stealing scandal will hit the pocketbooks heavily, but won’t affect any postseasons of the past of future Aug 18, 2025

Show notes

The NCAA announced the punishments on Friday for the Connor Stalions sign-stealing scandal, including a $50,000 base fine and a 10% of revenue fine from the 2023-24 football season which could equate to $10 million

In terms of product on the field? Jim Harbaugh got a 10-year show-cause penalty, Stalions an 8-year penalty, and a 3 game suspension for Sherrone Moore…nothing else major to affect the product on field.

Matt Rhule met with media after Nebraska’s scrimmage on Saturday…what was the message as we sit 10 days away from kickoff in KC? Aug 18, 2025

Show notes

Rhule met with media after the scrimmage and said the team had too many penalties (they had a B1G ref crew in to officiate) but not the “silly, pre-snap” penalties---the aggressive ones like defensive holding

Rhule also said he wants more from the backups….and while Archie Wilson had a good day punting, it didn’t sound that way for kicking in what was otherwise a good scrimmage for the team…

The Stool might not care that much about jersey numbers, but in an age where branding is everything---the single-digit storyline is an interesting follow Aug 15, 2025

Show notes

Dylan Raiola is known for a lot of things, but he’s also known as No. 15—and lots of jersey sales have been made with that number

It didn’t used to matter when players couldn’t make money off their own likeness, but now they can…the single-digit number is a big deal in terms of team leaders, but as players continue to build their brand…do they really want to change numbers?

When hearing Steve Sarkisian talk about Arch Manning’s expectations from fans, it leads to questioning---how much have expectations for Dylan Raiola changed now from before he got here? Aug 15, 2025

Show notes

Sark told media the other day that with all the pressure on Arch, it feels like anything short of a national championship is a “bust”---not by him, but by media---and it just reminds you of the pressure on him

When it comes to Dylan Raiola..what were fans’ expectations for him before he got here and now what is the goal if it’s changed at all?
