We have our first official prediction of Nebraska football in the playoff…is it met with an eye roll or Kool Aid chugging? Aug 19, 2025

The winner of the game would face Texas in this prediction….and other schools of note in his prediction making the playoffs are Florida, Arizona State, Boise State…with Penn State as the 1-seed

The Central Michigan side of the Connor Stalions story is out and not a great look for the Chippewas / Shut Up Sipple (sponsored by Bagels & Joe) Aug 19, 2025

Show notes

CBS Detroit reports that Stalions did not reach out to Central Michigan to attend their game vs. Michigan State in 2023; instead, CMU requested Stalions’ help, saying that former head coach Jim McElwain was “likely aware of and approved” the arrangement to secure Stalions a sideline credential and outfit him in CMU-issued gear

So, if this is right, CMU requested Stalions for that game to help with winning that game specifically, while also knowing it would help him at Michigan when they were to play the Spartans later in the year

CBS Sports did their official season predictions for the B1G, and one bold guess could be a bad thing for the conference Aug 19, 2025

Show notes

To no one’s surprise, the panel of 9 CBS Sports writers had either Penn State or Ohio State winning the conference…but one take by Tom Fornelli was of interest

Fornelli said the B1G will be much stronger top-to-bottom this year than it was last year, and that will result in only 3 teams making the playoff instead of 4…because teams 4-10 will have a narrow gap that will cause them all to eat each other alive

The B1G apparently is curious about not just expanding the playoff, but MAJORLY expanding the playoff to 24 or 28 teams Aug 18, 2025

Show notes

Sources told ESPN this weekend that the B1G has an idea to have 28 teams in the playoff, which that model would include 7 guaranteed spots for the B1G and 7 for the SEC, while the ACC and Big 12 would both receive 5 bids

That’s fun and all until you realize how long that makes the season and how much it devalues making the playoff..right?
