To no one’s surprise, questions about the Penn State opening were the topic of conversation yesterday at Matt Rhule’s press conference…did he say anything to calm the nerves of fans at all? Oct 14, 2025

Show notes

Rhule professed his love of Penn State and friendship with Pat Kraft and how bummed he was that it didn’t work out for James Franklin…but did say he loves being at Nebraska. He didn’t do a lot to calm the nerves of those who think he might leave

He did say that his wife, Julie, usually decides where they live, and she already has roots here in Lincoln with her business. But most fans can see past a simple business to keeping a head coach around…what was the sentiment from the presser?

Decision time is coming soon to Wisconsin and Penn State….how did things go so wrong so quickly? Oct 13, 2025

Show notes

The “quickly” question is more for Penn State---No. 2 preseason and now has lost back-to-back games to 2 of the perceived worst teams in the conference (@ UCLA, vs. Northwestern)—and now without Drew Allar the rest of the season

Things also are going from bad to worse for Wisconsin, 37-0 losers to Iowa at home on homecoming….it’s really bad

We’ve (already) reached the midpoint of the 2025 football season and it’s still difficult to know how good or average Nebraska is Oct 13, 2025

Show notes

Nebraska is 5-1 for the 2nd straight season---last year, the Huskers then lost 4 straight games before beating Wisconsin to get bowl-eligible. You take any win you can get, but there’s concerns about a variety of things after the Maryland win

We didn’t know how good Nebraska was last year at 5-1 and they went on to get destroyed by Indiana the next game. Next up for Nebraska is Minnesota, who scuffled with Purdue at home…but look at Michigan---pounded at home by USC….and also, Michigan State—who was more physical than Nebraska last week---got pummeled at home by UCLA. What does it mean?

Curt Cignetti has done it again---Indiana goes on the road to Oregon and beats the Ducks, 30-20 Oct 13, 2025

Show notes

GOOGLE ME!!!!! We live in a world where the Indiana Hoosiers have a phenomenal chance at winning a national championship. Embrace it, don’t deny it

Indiana held the high-flying Ducks to just 267 yards and 20 points at home, and the Hoosiers were great in all phases of the game—getting a massive win in conference play to further cement the dominant win they had over Illinois a few weeks ago

It was another ridiculous roller-coaster, but it’s another win for Nebraska---taking down Maryland, 34-31, for their first true road win of the season Oct 13, 2025

Show notes

Nebraska led 10-0 early and 24-14 at one point in the 2nd quarter, yet another poor 3rd quarter performance (like we saw vs. Michigan State) gave the Terrapins a 31-24 lead at one point, before Nebraska tacked on a FG and then the go-ahead TD with 1:08 to go in the game

Dylan Raiola had 3 interceptions in the game—one a pick 6 to make it 31-24 Maryland---but battled back with a big 4th quarter…and let’s make sure we give a MASSIVE shoutout to Emmett Johnson (21 carries, 176 yds; 2 rec, 20 yds)
