Is the USC game Nebraska’s last chance at a signature win this season or is one of the road games or the Iowa game to close the season still a chance? Oct 30, 2025

Show notes

Nebraska’s only other game vs. a ranked team was Michigan, and they lost that game, 30-27. Yes---Cincinnati is ranked now---but they weren’t at the time in the Huskers’ 20-17 win in KC over them….is that right now the signature win of the year?

There’s a chance Iowa could be ranked when Nebraska plays them (they’d have to survive games vs. Oregon and at USC)…but if they aren’t ranked…can it still be a signature win? Matt Rhule knows he needs a big win with the record he has vs. ranked teams paired with Nebraska’s struggles in general since 2016 vs. ranked teams

Pittsburgh head coach Pat Narduzzi isn’t holding back on what he believes is ‘one of the stupidest decisions’ the NCAA has made Oct 29, 2025

Show notes

Narduzzi said this week that when the NCAA opens the doors to its athletes betting on pro sports this Saturday, it’s a bad thing to encourage for student-athletes especially in an era where they have NIL money and could be prone to blow it

He said he’d encourage his team to not participate in gambling even though it’s allowed….what will other coaches say?

If bowl-eligibility was the minimal goal for the season, improving on a 1-7 November record in the Matt Rhule tenure is the next phase…what’s different from last year? Oct 29, 2025

Show notes

We have pointed out before that Nebraska has reached November with 5 wins both of the previous 2 years, and won only one game in the month---the Wisconsin game last year to clinch a bowl game

The schedule is tougher this month than it was in in October (right?)…and the monkey of the postseason is off the back…isn’t that why it’s important to win at least 2 games in November to certify progress and winning in the critical closing month?
