Overcoming an injury at QB makes Emmett Johnson that much more important, and now he’s REALLY trending toward All-American status Nov 03, 2025

Show notes

Emmett Johnson was great vs. USC, rushing 29 times for 165 yards and a TD, and now is 2nd in the country (!!) at 1,002 yards for the season

If Nebraska is able to go to UCLA/Penn State and win 1 or both of the games and Emmett has big stats, we are legitimately talking about a first-team All-American player….for the first time since 2011

Dylan Raiola’s season is over with a broken fibula…how does that factor in now to how you view importance of November success? Nov 03, 2025

Show notes

Nebraska’s loss on Saturday made Matt Rhule now 1-8 in the month of November as the Huskers’ head coach—and now it looks like he may have a true freshman leading the way at QB in TJ Lateef for the final 3 games (and bowl game)

Nebraska really has been pretty healthy the last 2 years as we have commented on the show, and now they face adversity without their starting QB---which is why you’re thankful they clinched the postseason last weekend

The coaching carousel continues as Hugh Freeze is out at Auburn---who is next? Nov 03, 2025

Show notes

Auburn lost to Kentucky, 10-3, and that was enough to fire Freeze—who was on the hottest of hot seats. $15.8 million buyout

There was a rumor going on that Mike Locksley was out at Maryland, but its not true yet---but Maryland dropped to 0-37 all-time in the B1G when playing a ranked team in the conference (dating back to 2014) after their loss to Indiana

It was a competitive game, but the ‘Black Out’ results in a 29th straight loss to ranked teams for Nebraska, in a 21-17 victory for USC Nov 03, 2025

Show notes

Nebraska took a 14-6 lead into halftime but couldn’t capitalize on good opportunities in the 3rd quarter—getting an interception at USC’s 34-yard line resulted in a sack-fumble and injury to Dylan Raiola a few plays later, and another drive that started on their own 47 yard line ended in a missed FG

The injury to Raiola is the story of the 2nd half and injuries on the o-line also, but it doesn’t negate the disappointment of blowing what was a phenomenal opportunity to break the streak vs. ranked teams….as USC struggles on the road in the cold, but got it done
