    DOM Episode 45 – Connor Allen (@ConnorAllenNFL) May 20, 2019
    Show notes

The 2019 running back class is limited in top-tier talent, but that hasn’t stopped the dynasty community in finding new argument and narratives to support or devalue the players based on their respective ADPs. To help in assessing the class, Connor Allen (Rotoworld, The Quant Edge, Sharp Football) sits down with the DOM crew to discuss his RB ranks along with looking at each prospect and their associated risk. College production, landing spot, and team outlook now become the focus as we wait for more news out of training camps. While rookie drafts and startups are still occurring, it’s best to approach each draft with a full understanding of the player’s talent, fit, and risk as they begin their NFL careers.

    Topics Discussed:

    • Approaching the “He’s Never Did It in College” argument
    • Converting ranks into draft picks
    • Josh Jacobs and all Oakland dynasty assets
    • The LA Rams’ backfield

    DOM Episode 44 – Derek Brown (@DBro_FFB) May 13, 2019
    Show notes

Drafting is an art/science unto itself. Roster construction, draft position, and league-mate tendencies all become factors in the decision-making process. Regardless of if it’s a start-up or rookie draft, different strategies can be applied to continue molding our rosters into contenders. Or, can they? Derek Brown (TQE, FantasyData, Grid Iron Experts) rejoins the DOM crew to talk about his approach to drafting. The 2019 class offers a lot of niche players jumbling our perception of value. While ADP might drive value, do we adhere to value or try and fit players into what we need? Derek brings the noise this week with helpful tips for any dynasty manager.

    Topics Discussed:

    • BPA vs Drafting for Need
    • Identifying roster needs
    • Edge to mortgaging future picks for current assets

    DOM Episode 43 – Jesse Reeves (@JesseReevesFF) May 06, 2019
    Show notes

Take all your pre-draft rankings and throw them in the trash. NFL GMs inserted a bit of chaos into the dynasty community as we watched the draft unfold. We’re now to the point where a clear understanding of fantasy value comes into play. It’s not just about talent anymore. We have draft capital, situation, and team fit to consider. So who should we continue to value or has the pre-draft hype now inflated their cost? Jesse Reeves (@JesseReevesFF) comes back on with the DOM crew to go over the highlights (and lowlights) of the draft along with adjusting to the 2019 landscape.

    DOM Episode 42 – Memphis (@DFFMemphis) Apr 30, 2019
    Show notes

It’s over. The draft has come and gone and rookie drafts are already underway. The problem is that landing spots have changed our perception about many of the players and their value. Here’s where the #Process becomes important. We’ve gone from traits and college production to team fit and draft capital. How teams will try and maximize a player’s talent will be the focus and dynasty managers should keep that as their focus. The Outlaw (@DFFMemphis) helps the DOM crew with a mental exercise as the dynasty community heads into the rookie draft season. Using previous classes, we can gauge how managers have reacted to prospects given their draft capital, college production, and their subsequent team fit. How we valued them pre and post-draft can help set the tone for our approach to the 2019 class.

    Topics Discussed:

    • Feelings about the 2019 class
    • Value of picks compared to the previous classes
    • Past Prospects
      • John Kelly
      • Royce Freeman
      • Cooper Kupp

    DOM Episode 41 – Russ Fisher (@DynastyOuthouse) Apr 22, 2019
    Show notes

To take over as reigning champion of guest appearances, Russ Fisher (@DynastyOuthouse) joins the DOM crew the week before the draft. Owners are getting restless. Trades are flying into manager’s inboxes. We need the calm, cool collectedness that is the co-host of the Trade Addicts podcast. Before you click accept on your next offer, sit back and evaluate your draft position and also your team needs. Everyone’s ranks have players valued similarly, but we there can only be one player selected when you’re on the clock. So, to help prepare, a mock draft using DLF data was used as a starting point. The pick, the value of the pick, the player, and the strategy behind the pick was given to give future managers a blueprint for their upcoming rookie drafts.

    Topics Discussed –

    • Roster construction situations triggering trades
    • What do with your first-round pick?
    • Using tiers to assess rookie value
    • Player Value
      • N’Keal Harry
      • DK Metcalf
      • Josh Jacobs
      • AJ Brown

    DOM Episode 40 – Shane Manila (@DFF_Shane) Apr 15, 2019
    Show notes

The dynasty community is getting restless as the countdown to the NFL Draft continues. As your inbox fills with trade offers, it’s important to understand if you even need to make a move before we see how the league values these players. The DOM crew had Shane Manila (@DFF_Shane) stop in to discuss that very topic. Fear of missing out and the desire to do anything fantasy relevant can be a real and sometimes detrimental reaction in dynasty. Without understanding how your entire roster might perform or the picks you’ve acquired, you could be sitting on a championship team without requiring any additional moves. Patience is a difficult practice and Shane helps describe what situations best call for each eaction.

    • Always staying connected to the NFL…to a point
    • Marquise Brown – Worth a first-round pick?
    • Using MFL tools to rate your team
