Show notes

Much like a vintage wine, you have to wait until the best moment to pop its cork, much like this episode, which was recorded during the summer months of 2020 and is now ready to release to the world.

Writer Joanne Lau provides a fruity note, with a story that leaves you wondering if the perp had good intentions at heart... otherwise, they are definitely NOT a good egg.

The team then cracks into a case which has more twists than a helter-skelter AND a real whirlwind of a listener crime!

DWSC Talk C4's Screw with show creator Rob Williams Jan 21, 2022

Show notes

The Drunk Women have some extra content for you lovely listeners and even let a MAN in on the fun - and it's not even Men's Month!

Taylor, Catie, and Hannah are here to talk about the Channel 4 prison comedy-drama, Screw, with the show's creator Rob Williams.

The series is available to watch now on All 4 and as you'll hear from this chat, has a brilliant cast including Nina Sosanya, Jamie Lee O'Donnell, and Laura Checkley.

In this chat, we hear how and why Rob felt so compelled to write the series and what the standout moments were for our gals when they watched episode one.

They all managed to do this one sober ... it's a miracle ... at least they SAID they hadn't been drinking.

DWSC LIVE: With Ayesha Hazarika Jan 19, 2022

Show notes

HELLOOOOO! It's been a minute, but the Drunk Women are back after recharging their livers and drinking their body weight in spinach smoothies, so they can get right on it again, all in the name of entertainment!

Having said all that, this episode was actually recorded a few weeks ago, at one of their sell-out residency shows, and joining them in the hijinks is the brilliantly funny comedian and political commentator, Ayesha Hazarika!

This show is typical of the anarchic atmosphere of a DWSC residency show and our guest and her crime story is much to blame for that anarchic vibe - most of it made to air... some did not, sometimes you really have to be there!

The team then gets their gears into a case involving the mysterious 'Madam X' - listen to find out who SHE is.

We then round things off with a listener crime which a bag of missing mini-eggs leaves many questions.

It's good to be back!

PLUS you can check out their Patreon for ad-free eps, shout-outs and extra content go to patreon.com/drunkwomensolvingcrime - sign-up before 10th February and you'll be able to watch a record take place with the brilliant Maisie Adam from the comfort of your own home, at no extra cost.

DRUNK WOMEN LIVE: With Eleanor Morton Dec 22, 2021

Show notes

It's the final episode of 2021 and what better way to being some festive cheer to proceedings than recording in front of a packed out crowd AND inviting the hilarious comedian Eleanor Morton along as special guest?!

Yes, even though this happened to be recorded at Christmas, like a bottle of Baileys, it can be enjoyed any time of the year and if you celebrate Yuletide or not.

It's always the season to listen to Eleanor share a tale in which a combination of naivety and creepiness are both at play and to hear a story which originates in the mountains of North Carolina ...which either is or isn't classed as an Appalachian ... perhaps the fact we don't know is an abomination.... what isn't an abomination though is this week's audience crime, but in fact a load of pants...

DRUNK WOMEN LIVE: With Felicity Ward Dec 15, 2021

Show notes

The Drunk Women are here again and this episode is hot off the press of their double show at The Leicester Square theatre only last week (at the time of release - obvs). As this was recorded at the start of December, the vibe is very much that of an office Christmas party, mainly because of Hannah's outfit. Someone who didn't get the Christmas memo though was the first guest of the evening, the wonderful comedian, writer, and actor, Felicity Ward!

Felicity's outfit AND crime take us back to beachside Australia of the 1990s - a welcome break for us all before our main case brings on the debate of when the Bikini was invented** and this week's audience crime will have us all wondering if the perp had a gun in his pocket, or was he just pleased to see her?

Check out the DWSC Patreon for extra content, ad-free eps, videos, and more! patreon.com/drunkwomensolvingcrime

**FYI, the heckler was WRONG... they did exist as a two-piece in the 1930s, but they weren't referred to as Bikinis until 1946 when the name was used to commemorate the nuclear tests carried out on the Pacific island of Bikini Atoll.

DRUNK WOMEN LIVE: With Luisa Omielan Dec 08, 2021

Show notes

It's been a long time coming, but the Drunk Women finally made it back to Manchester for another fantastic live show at The Salford Lowry!

The crowd obviously missed Taylor, Catie, and Hannah as much as our drunk detectives missed them, and bringing her own brand of cheer was this week's wonderful guest, comedian Luisa Omelian!

Luisa started things off with a crime in which several suspects are up for discussion - but is the real crime the cost of a beef fillet?

As the gang hasn't seen their Manchester friends in a while, it seemed only right that this week's crime should have something of a local flavor... although it's probably not something that great city should only be known for!

And to finish things off, this week's listener crime is brought to us by not one, but TWO members of the audience - it's a doubleheader ladies and gentlemen!

DWSC LIVE: With Jocelyn Jee Esien Dec 01, 2021

Show notes

Pinch, punch for the first of the month, this episode was released on 1st December 2020, which means just like that, Men's Month is over for another year and we welcome back the all-female line-up, with a woman who was pursued so much to appear on the show, that she could have used that as her opening crime, it's the fabulous comedian Jocelyn Jee Esien - AKA Little Miss Jocelyn!

As well as wowing the live audience with some epic gymnastics she also started off proceedings with a crime that could have only happened in the early 2000s.

The team then gets into a case that involves some of the worst children's names in the book and this week's audience crime had our guest believing in witchcraft!

MEN'S MONTH LIVE: With Ed Gamble Nov 24, 2021

Show notes

It's the FINAL men's month episode of 2021, and taking us out with a bang is the fantastic Ed Gamble, who wowed the crowd on stage at the sold-out DWSC residency at The Museum of Comedy!

Ed starts us off with a crime story that leaves you wondering how many teenaged boys have citrus fruit in their pockets and then sparks a competition for tales of middle-class injuries.

The team then roll out the barrel for the main story of the episode and you WILL have a barrel of fun and finally, this week's audience member provides a crime mystery which is basically just some EXCELLENT gossip about someone in her friendship circle ... we won't tell a soul, promise.
