Drunk Women Solving Crime is a true crime podcast with a twist…of lime. Join writer/comedian hosts Hannah George and Taylor Glenn as they welcome top guests from comedians to crime writers to test out their drunk detective skills. Each episode sees the boozed up panel tackle personal crime stories, solve true crime cases, and seek justice for your listener crimes. Yes, comedian and writer Sikisa joins the team with a true crime story still hot off the press and with a fantastic sense for sleuthing out some cut price Edinburgh accommodation when the opportunity arises.

Taylor then takes the team stateside for a crime so New York it practically arrives in a yellow taxi!

In what turns-out to be a very 'second record', we start by hearing from Rosalind about a crime for which she gives us the naked-facts and which also allows her to display a pretty good background in sleuthing - welcome to the force!

The whole gang then looks at a case, which not only inspired one of the greatest stories in literature, but also one could argue (if you're Catie), the plot of Jaws!

Abigail's story of injustice from her school days will have the militants amongst you rising-up, to match our guest's beaming example of morality.

The group then get involved with a crime which features an overachiever, who probably should have either stuck to his first career, or had some therapy, or maybe done both of these things... but then, we wouldn't have had this BRILLIANT story to look into, so swings n' roundabouts...

We then hear from a lovely audience member who retells the story of an absolute wrong'un who hacked into and then blocked her from her Insta accounts, seemingly with no reason other than to cause distress ... leaving the Drunk Women Thirsty for justice (and prosecco).

After an unplanned one week hiatus (see below for details), the team have burst back into podland to bring you this fun-filled afternoon spent with the brilliant author Beth Morrey!

Before everyone knuckled down to solve a case which will have the gentrified inhabitants of a particular London borough wondering if this could affect their house prices, Beth recounted a time she barely noticed she was victim of a crime (although the story was particularly triggering for one member of the DWSC team, see below).

We then hear a listener story at the end of the show, in which the criminals involved certainly made a meal of their misdemeanour!

No episode this week, here's why... Apr 20, 2022

Normally today we would be putting out another cracking DWSC episode; unfortunately this week we will not be releasing an episode.

This is because our dear producer Amanda came home this weekend to discover her flat had been burgled (I know, life imitating art, right?) Along with the devastation and sense of violation that brings, the intruder stole her laptop and all of her's jewellery, including this peacock brooch (pictured).

It is a precious family heirloom, which Amanda's Great Grandfather had made for his wife, out of gems which a wartime evacuee they were housing gave as a thank-you gift to them (the evacuee's family owned a jewellery business).

We are posting it here as a long-shot that anyone might spot this piece out in the world - on eBay, in a pawn shop in London, on Facebook marketplace - wherever. It is truly one of a kind and irreplaceable and would mean the world to our Amanda if it was some how, some way, returned to her.

The good news is that we're a tight-knit female workplace and we will help Amanda regroup and will be back in action by next week!
