MEN'S MONTH: With Nick Mohammed Nov 17, 2021

Show notes

At the time of release, it's the 3rd Wednesday in November, which means Taylor, Catie, and Hannah welcome the 3rd (and penultimate) man for Men's Month 2021 and it's only the wonderful actor and comedian, Nick Mohammed, who recorded this whilst filming in New Mexico no less!

Nick starts us off with a trio of crimes that he has fallen victim to, one of which proves the grass really isn't greener on the other side.

The team then gets their heads around a crime that throws up important questions like, how micro is microfilm? Are paper boys over 18? And was this week's listener crime actually solved?

MEN'S MONTH: With Al Murray Nov 10, 2021

Show notes

The DWSC Men's Month continues in style, as the ladies welcome a comedian whose character The Pub Landlord wouldn't approve of their drunken antics, but luckily, Al Murray is here as himself and is fully immersed in the fun and hijinx!

Al starts us off with a crime story with some high and mighty perpetrators and the team then gets into a case that is audacious in many ways, as well as having a pretty impressive celebrity connection!

And this week's listener crime gets solved at lightning speed ... although perhaps not in a helpful way.

MEN'S MONTH LIVE: With Kiell Smith Bynoe Nov 03, 2021

Show notes

It's November, which can only mean one thing... nope, not Guy Fawks night... Thanks Giving? More like No Thanks (Giving), because at Drunk Women Towers the only thing the team will celebrate for four weeks straight is International Men's Day on 19th November, which means it raining MEN all month long!

Men's Month 2021 is a particularly special affair, as at least one of our guests has been recorded at a live show and this fantastic episode welcomes actor Kiell Smith Bynoe as our very first audience-friendly guy - it's the role of his life and he embraced it as tightly as the bottle of tequila he brought to the stage.

Kiell kicks-off the show with a story that will invoke nostalgia for your first mobile phone, whilst also making you wonder why he went to school with people who had names like Brian and Leslie.

The team then collectively crushes a case that could very much be described as bad cop / worst cop and then we hear from a member of the audience whose crime to solve is worthy of Toy Story.

Feeling 'Seen' with Sarah Mills Oct 27, 2021

Show notes

Joining the Drunk Women hijinx this week is a last whose personal crime story is either a tale of dole queue drudgery or one of validation (we'll let you decide), it's writer and comedian, Sarah Mills!

Sarah's show opener is a story of first and grit, which can also be said of the woman featured in this week's true crime case - it'll probably have you rushing out to get a cat AND make you want to put the heating on full pelt - did you know pelt can mean an animal skin, as well as in the context of putting the heating on full? That knowledge will stand you in good stead for this week's ep, so you're welcome!

As always we hear from a listener to round off the show and today is no different, although there were a few shocks to uncover in this person's family tree .... WHAAAT?!

Izzy Mant's Indecent Proposal Oct 20, 2021

Show notes

The Drunk Women are here again and joining them to solve a case whilst imbibing a G&T is comedian and writer, Izzy Mant! Izzy starts us off with a story that heralds from a night out at one of the second-best venues in a UK seaside town.

The team then pulls apart a crime-ridden tale that is reminiscent of a past case ... perhaps it's a coincidence, or maybe it's the work of an incompetent copycat? We then hear from a listener who wants to end the speculation of a series of events - period!

DWSC LIVE with Mary O'Connell Oct 13, 2021

Show notes

This week's episode is another riotous recording at the DWSC London residency at The Museum of Comedy! Joining Taylor, Catie and Hannah is the brilliant comedian Mary O'Connell who sets the crime-solving scene with a story of under 18s raving which will melt the coldest heart. We then dive into a true crime that starts off debating the role and efficiency of using a muff... much to everyone's delight. We then hear from an audience member who has been stewing on a wrongdoing for 25 years until she finally gets the closure she deserves.

DWSC LIVE: With Grace Campbell Oct 06, 2021

Show notes

Well, what a night this was! Hannah, Catie, and Taylor burst onto the stage during London's Underbelly Festival for a night of drunk-solving mayhem in front of 300 fabulous fans AND had a very special guest in comedian and writer, Grace Campbell!

Grace starts us off with a crime that could be considered more a crime against sex than anything else and the tone is then set when the team (and audience) dig into a case in which the word 'cream' is definitely overused. We then round things off with a very eager audience member, who desperately needed the help of our amateur sleuths and by jove, I think they solved it ... or at least didn't make things worse!

Good Heavens, It's Susie Dent! Sep 29, 2021

Show notes

The 'countdown' is almost over, as the DWSC team finally welcomes etymologist and star of one of the UK's longest-running shows 'Countdown' (you can see the brilliant gag we made there) and its comedy, sister show, 'Cats Does Countdown', it is, of course, the one and only, Susie Dent!

As well as giving us some pretty cool word origins, Susie also proved to be a pretty savvy crime solver and hits the nail on the head several times in this episode's stratospheric case, as well as starting us off with a crime that also has more than a hint of nostalgia attached.

The team then debates a listener story which could also have the hallmarks of a more innocent time ... or something far more sinister might have been at play.

Dinner In The Clink, With Hannah Cunningham Sep 22, 2021

Show notes

Much fun was had in the making of this episode and a big part of that was this week's crime-solving guest, make-up artist, TV presenter, and star of BBC's Glow-Up, it's Hannah Cunningham AKA Empty Alien, or 'cool' Hannah as she shall now be known, although nothing was cool about the crime she shares at the start of the show, thanks to the creepy man in slacks.

The team then digs deep into a historical crime, which could almost be referred to as highbrow, especially after Taylor displays a latent talent, which although has no use at all, is impressive, to say the least!

We then of course hear from a listener who needs our help in getting to the bottom of a most puzzling display of road rage.

Come and see the Drunk Women LIVE during 2021.

Their London residency continues at The Museum of Comedy on 28th Sept, 28th Oct, and 23rd Nov - for tickets and info go to museumofcomedy.com

DWSC LIVE: With Ania Magliano Sep 15, 2021

Show notes

The Drunk Women are live again at The Museum of Comedy in London and as well as being joined by an audience of amateur detectives, they also brought comedian Ania Magliano along for the ride, who as it turns out wasn't too shabby as crime-solving herself!

Ania, tells us about the time is desperately wanted in on a crime wave in her school and then the team pulls apart a story from the 16th Century which details are grainy, to say the least!

We then hear from a member of the wonderful audience, who uses the opportunity to clear her name ... or maybe she just WANTS us to think she's innocent? You decide...

Come and see the DWSC LIVE at The Underbelly on Friday 17th Sept 2021 and at The Museum of Comedy on 28th October and 23rd November 2021.

You can also catch them in MANCHESTER on Sunday 28th November 2021 for a double show at The Salford Lowry!
