Motivation Chaser | Aaron Brockett, Traders Point Christian Church Oct 15, 2020

Aaron Brockett is the lead pastor of Traders Point Christian Church in Indianapolis. Since he joined the church in 2007, it has grown from 1,500 people in one location to more than 9,000 people in four locations, earning recognition as one of the fastest-growing churches in the U.S. from Outreach Magazine.

Aaron has contributed to several books and articles and also serves as a board member of the Orchard Group, a worldwide church-planting organization. He and his wife, Lindsay, have dedicated their lives to seeing people all over the world come to know, trust and follow Jesus. They have four great kids and a silver lab named Winston.

He is passionate about removing barriers that keep people from Jesus, just as the men in Mark 2 “wrecked the roof” in order to get the paralytic to Jesus. “Jesus says, ‘I will draw all men and women to myself.’ Therefore, He is the only one who can change anyone. Our responsibility as a church is to get those people to Him and let Him do what only He can,” Aaron has said.

Motivation Chaser | Scott Stulen, Philbrook Museum of Art Sep 11, 2020

Scott Stulen is the CEO and President of Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He’s also an artist, curator, programmer and DJ. Previously he was the first Curator of Audience Experiences and Performance at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, and Director of the McKnight Artist Fellowship for Photographers and Project Director of mnartists.org at the Walker Art Center. On our show today, we find out what Scott reads, watches, and listens to for inspiration.

About PhilbrookVilla Philbrook was a child of the Twenties. World War I was over. Women could vote. It was a time of flappers, rumble seats, prohibition, bootleggers and five-cent Cokes. More than that, in Tulsa the Twenties smelled of oil and resounded with money. In 1926 Edward Buehler Delk (1885–1956), a Kansas City architect, was hired to design an Italian Renaissance villa on 25 acres by oilman Waite Phillips. Delk skillfully interpreted Renaissance styles in the most fashionable manner of the day and was hired in a burst of commissions with three major projects at once: Villa Philbrook, Villa Philmonte and the Philtower office building. This impressive home was completed in 1927. Friends say that the Phillipses built the villa as a place where their two children could entertain friends. When they moved in, daughter Helen was sixteen, son Elliott was ten.

In 1938 Waite Phillips surprised Tulsans with the announcement of his gift of the 72-room mansion and surrounding 23 acres of grounds as an art center for the city of Tulsa. The vision first made possible by Waite and Genevieve Phillips is now one of America’s finest art museums. The integrity of the original residence remains intact while later additions to the facility and gardens complete this classic Tulsa attraction.

Serving over 160,000 visitors annually, Philbrook has become a poignant testimony to Tulsa’s past while building a shining example of this city’s bright future.

What began as an unprecedented gift to the community of Tulsa by the Phillips family continues today through the generosity of Philbrook Members and donors.

Episode 175: Chris Handberg, Indy Pride Jul 15, 2020

In 1981, the first Indianapolis Pride event was hosted at the Essex Hotel downtown, where many attendees wore masks not to be recognized. Today, Indy Pride, Inc. hosts events with over 55,000 attendees led by Executive Director, Chris Handberg. He then moved to Indianapolis to work as a teacher and for the Domestic Violence Network before joining the Indy Pride board. During this time, the Indy Pride team recognized that it needed a full-time leader. Chris was encouraged to apply and has been with the organization as its first full-time employee for three years. Tune in to learn about how Indy Pride serves the LGBTQ community by providing resources for businesses to better support the community, by hosting numerous social events each year that create potentially life-saving social connections within the community, and by acting as a leader for LGBTQ rights. Episode 173: The End of an Era Jul 01, 2020

“Do you want to start a podcast?” Over three years ago Fabian sent this text message to Jared. During the next 365 days, their new hobby quickly evolved from discussing their favorite bourbon and beer to telling the stories of people who are shaping Indianapolis. The change directed DRNK CLTR’s new mission: To inspire and strengthen communities through storytelling.

Over the last three years, the Drink Culture Podcast has grown to become a premier local podcast with 160,000+ lifetime downloads, forty-seven episodes with 1,000+ downloads, many wonderful listeners who were supportive of our every venture, live shows, and the addition of three vowels and seven incredible team members: Hayley, Jeff, Michelle, Cole, and Tim.

During this time, we received support from our community, our families, complete strangers, local leaders, Patrons, and local businesses. We are still moved by each gesture of support, so thank you. Your encouraging words, willingness to take a chance on us, and passion for our mission allowed us to produce 170+ consecutive weekly episodes. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

We are grateful for our community’s support and are proud of what we’ve accomplished, but it’s time for this chapter in our lives to come to a close. Not because we don’t believe in our mission and won’t carry it with us in every action, every day. But, because our lives are evolving. We’ve had babies, graduated college, changed jobs, built new relationships, and more during the last three years. We can’t keep up the side hustle forever.

Drink Culture is ending. It’s tough. But, the growth and strength of the people who believe in our community will never end. Go explore! Be a champion! Share the message in the city we’ve all built together.

Drink Culture. Know Your City. We’re Out.

Episode 172: Nomad Rides, Daniel Jones & Michael McHugh Jun 24, 2020

What if an Uber ride only cost $5.50? Now it can with Nomad Rides. Daniel Jones and Michael McHugh join us to share about Nomad Rides. A story that ranges from dressing up as cows to attending the startup accelerator Y-Combinator. Daniel and Michael were always freelancing as students at IU and as roommates often found themselves staying up late talking through new business ideas. The first idea that came to fruition was an app for students to connect with freelancers. When it did not take off, they began looking for business ideas that would create more engaged customers. One of which was a milk delivery service named the Milk Mooovers. Another, a commission-free rideshare model that would differentiate them from other rideshare companies. When Nomad Rides (at that time, B-Town Rides) launched, they quickly realized they were successfully meeting a huge need for IU students. Daniel and Michael took Nomad Rides full-time in February of 2019, and after a wildly successful Little 500 weekend, they reached out to contacts for funding that could help in legitimizing the business. A two-sentence email to Y-Combinator Partner Michael Seibel landed them acceptance into the well-known incubator program. Now, they spend time traveling the midwest to launch Nomad Rides in Big 10 college towns. Tune in to learn: what it is like to attend a start-up accelerator in Silicon Valley, how Daniel and Michael plan on making Nomad Rides a top rideshare brand, and how they have created a commission-free rideshare business that is sustainable for its stakeholders. Drink deep of the culture that surrounds you with Daniel Jones and Michael McHugh from Nomad Rides.

Episode 171: Mina Starsiak Hawk, Two Chicks and a Hammer Jun 19, 2020

Mina Starsiak Hawk is the co-founder of Two Chicks and a Hammer, Inc. She began rehabbing homes in 2007 when Mina bought a house that needed a lot of love. Mina had just graduated from Indiana University. All her friends had grown up jobs, and with a need to also feel like a grown up she purchased her first home with the help of her mom, Karen. The two were not only able to renovate the house but also discovered a passion for home renovation. They were bitten by the renovation bug and Two Chicks and a Hammer was born. Mina and Karen would work on 2-3 houses a year when they had downtime between their day jobs as a lawyer and waitress.

Two Chicks and a Hammer now focuses on renovating homes in Fountain Square, Bates Hendricks, and the surrounding areas. Throughout their work in Indianapolis, Two Chicks and a Hammer found that they could do well by doing good in their neighborhood! This drives the business and mission statement for Two Chicks and a Hammer, to 'Revitalize Indianapolis One Property at a Time'.

In 2014, the company was found by High Noon Entertainment, who filmed a pilot for HGTV. The pilot aired in May 2015 under the name “Two Chicks and a Hammer” on HGTV. In July of 2015, we began filming the first season of the show now known as “Good Bones”.

With Karen retiring from the business in 2019, Mina now works on renovating homes full time and is able to complete around 14 houses a year! They are now in the process of filming the fifth season of Good Bones which will be on HGTV in early 2020.

Episode 169: Guggman Haus Brewing Co., Courtney and Derek Guggenberger Jun 10, 2020

Guggman Haus Brewing Co. is not only a mash-up of its founders’ last names but is also an homage to Indiana’s rich racing history. Courtney and Derek Guggenberger join us to share the story of Guggman Haus, which they opened with Courtney’s twin sister and her husband, Abby and Ryan Gorman. After college, the Guggenbergers moved to Germany, and the Gormans moved to Colorado - both areas where they experienced strong beer cultures. The Guggenbergers began home brewing and were joined by Abby and Ryan when they all moved to Indianapolis. They may have known that they would eventually open a brewery since Courtney believes they thought about it every day for five years. What they could not foresee was making history by restoring a famous Indy 500 landmark for their taproom - the Boyle Racing headquarters. Take a sip as Courtney and Derek share the secrets behind making flavorful yet drinkable beer, Why they are undertaking an incredible renovation project to preserve Wilbur Shaw’s legendary racing success, and how the Indianapolis Motor Speedway was almost left as a field of weeds after WWII. Episode 164: Dr. Manasa Mantravadi, Ahimsa Apr 22, 2020

Do you remember your favorite plastic dinnerware set as a kid with the movie character you most admired painted beneath your mac and cheese? What we did not know then about your beloved Mickey Mouse is how the chemicals in plastic are harmful to children. That’s the problem that Dr. Manasa Mantravadi is solving with Ahimsa. The story of Ahimsa begins in a pediatrician moms' group chat when someone questioned what to do about the American Academy of Pediatrics’ report warning of the dangers of plastic. In the report, the AAP recommended swapping out plastic for stainless steel whenever possible. The traditional dinnerware for children in India is stainless steel, which Manasa’s mom reminded her of when she replaced all of Manasa’s twin’s plasticware with stainless steel during a visit. Manasa began searching for stainless steel sets online and found that they were boring, especially for kids. Manasa’s passion for children’s health runs deep as she is first and foremost a Pediatrician. Therefore, she was inspired to embark on the journey of starting Ahimsa - colorful stainless steel dinnerware sets for children. Now with a team of five, Ahimsa has sold over 1,400 sets in over 32 states. Tune in to learn about why plastic is so prevalent in the U.S. and not in countries like India, the process of finding a manufacturer for stainless steel dinnerware, and how Manasa has managed a successful side hustle while working as a pediatrician. Episode 163: Louise Henderson and Daniel Arthur Jacobson, KanKan Cinema and Brasserie Apr 15, 2020

Until now, the only place to watch independent films year-round was at the mall. On this week’s episode, we learn the story of the KanKan, Indianapolis’ first arthouse cinema, from Executive Director Louise Henderson and Director of Programing Daniel Arthur Jacobson. Louise’s love of film began while she was dating her husband. They were not of age to drink, so they spent many evenings at the theater. Meanwhile, Daniel grew up passionate about producing movies and videos, which steered his career away from teaching math and towards film. The idea for Indianapolis’ first arthouse cinema began with Daniel and his friends starting the pop-up cinema Public House supported by Big Car Collaborative. At the time, Tom and Ed Battista were both on Big Car Collaborative’s board and happened to be looking for property to host independent local films. When they met at a board meeting, they recognized that they had the right resources and people to start the KanKan. Especially with Louise’s extensive background in film festival execution, non-profit leadership, and production experience that included an Oscarshort-listed live action short, WINTER NIGHT. Press play as Louise and Daniel share how the KanKan has operated online while its opening week was shut down due to mandatory quarantining, how arthouse cinemas are essential for providing a diverse perspective in film for communities, and how the KanKan is integrating into the Windsor Park neighborhood. Connect. Rehearse. Record. The CEO and Founder, Richard Anderson, and Community Architect, Kyle McGinnis, of Soundspace join us to share their stories and how Soundspace will evolve Indianapolis’ community of musical artists. You would not suspect that Soundspace was founded by someone who graduated from IUPUI with two degrees in neuroscience and biotechnology. Nonetheless, Richard grew up playing guitar and even spent a semester at Berkley College of Music for classical guitar in addition to his love of science. He continued composing during his time at IUPUI, so when he graduated, he had four years’ worth of songs queued up. To execute his creations, Richard researched building a home studio. He quickly recognized that it was expensive and questioned how he would not only produce but market and possibly create physical copies of his music. That thought led to the idea of Soundspace, a music rehearsal and recording facility that exists to connect people with different skills in the industry. Through mutual friends, Kyle met with Richard to help with marketing in November of 2018 and has since been pursuing a network of artists and partners for Soundspace. Turn up the bass to learn about the resources in Indianapolis’ music community, how the music industry has changed since the creation of streaming, and how Indianapolis can compete with other music cities. Around sixteen years ago, Beth started a long, frustrating journey of fertility treatments and miscarriages right after having her first baby girl. It was until she was undergoing bloodletting by an 8th generation acupuncturist that she learned, “Your blood too thick, too thick!” She went to her doctor crying and was prescribed to clean her colon. Although unpleasant, it worked. At 39, she had a baby boy and became pregnant again soon after. Motivated to maintain her healthy lifestyle and digestive system by colon cleansing and drinking juices, she decided to open the first closed colon hydrotherapy system business in Indy when she moved. Her clients would ask about what they should eat after their sessions, so she began making them juices. As one would think, poop and juice should not mix, so she opened a dedicated juice shop. Now, Beth travels back and forth from Milwaukee to cold press her famous recipes for her juice business in SoBro, Simplicity Cold Pressed Juice and Cocktails. What are your talents? DeAmon Harges and Seana Murphy from The Learning Tree are leveraging this question to strengthening neighborhoods through asset-based community development. The learning tree was real. DeAmon's Uncle Buck planted it, and it became a gathering spot for neighbors to share stories and build relationships. DeAmon was looking at starting his career in something he was passionate about and recognized that he was talented at listening and storytelling. Thus, he started an organization that provided a space for people to share stories and named it after the legendary spot, The Learning Tree. However, the theme of his story is instead a constant pursuit through adversity. Gary’s parents refinanced their home twice to pay for him to be the first college graduate in the family. When they called to inform him they could no longer afford Rutgers, he successfully negotiated a scholarship with the football coach. Starting that moment, he worked hard to be more than a walk on player. He quickly became starter and 2X MVP. From Rutgers, he climbed from 4th-string-free-agent at the Colts to five-year captain, all while managing three significant family deaths in 16 months. Gary was enjoying retirement from nine years in the NFL when his daughter presented another challenge: “What are you going to be when you grow up?" He decided to attend George Washington University to earn an executive MBA, and entered into a partnership with the previous owner of Stacked Pickle in 2011. By 2013, he purchased the company and grew it to currently ten locations with seven franchises. Drink deep of the culture that surrounds you with Gary Brackett from the Stacked Pickle.

Episode 155: Chris LaFave, Kurt Vonnegut Museum & Library Feb 19, 2020

“You can go to tremendous places through literature.” Chris LaFave, the Curator of the Kurt Vonnegut Museum & Library, takes that thought to a new level with his career story. Chris’ first experience with Vonnegut was Breakfast of Champions in college at Ball State. Therefore, when his mom called him as he was driving past a library to share that Kurt Vonnegut had died, he took it as a sign to read more of his novels. That night he stayed up until 7 a.m. reading Welcome to the Monkey House. His love for libraries and reading drew him to then pursue Library Science at IUPUI. As his life story continues, the beginning quote reigns more truth because a few years later a friend called him and said, “Remember complaining about how we would only stay in Indy under certain circumstances, and you said ‘when they open some sort of Kurt Vonnegut Museum?’” It seems no coincidence that Chris is now the epicenter of all things Vonnegut. Turn the page to learn true stories about Kurt Vonnegut and how the museum is integrating Vonnegut’s works into improving the community. Episode 151: Indiana Sports Corp, Ryan Vaughn Jan 29, 2020

When did the phrase “Indiana. Where Champions are Crowned.” become a staple of Indianapolis? It started in 1979 with the formation of Indiana Sports Corp, the first sports commission in the country. Its current president, Ryan Vaughn, shares his story and the story of Indiana Sports Corp with us over alcohol-less beers. The Indianapolis-native realized that after a lifetime of pursuing law, he needed two things to be successful. One, to be busy. And two, to be of service to the community. At 27, Ryan was on the City Council and began working in politics until 2014 when Allison Melangton called him about the open presidential position at Indiana Sports Corp. After accepting her offer, Ryan quickly acclimated to how sports, politics, and current events are intertwined when only a few months in he was fighting to promote the Final Four through the RFRA controversy. Today, Ryan is busy with the #INthegame campaign, which is the observance and celebration of twenty substantial sporting events in Indianapolis over the next two years, and supporting the city on twelve different boards. Episode 150: Redux, Reuben Zielinski & Matt Hay Jan 22, 2020

We have all felt the gut-wrenching realization that our electronic device is floating in the washing machine. Founder Reuben Zielinski and Director of Audiology Sales Matt Hay share how Redux is saving our devices and revolutionizing the hearing device industry. Redux is a vacuum chamber that lowers the boiling point of water by reducing vacuum pressure and, therefore, taking out all of the moisture in your wet devices. Reuben, an owner of over 20 patents already, used his background in engineering at IBM to create Redux after his neighbor’s wife locked her phone in a front-load washer. Matt joined Redux to support its expansion beyond drying cell phones to hearing devices. He was perfect for the position because he has felt the pain of getting hearing aids wet for the last fifteen years. Tune in to learn how you can take advantage of Redux’s technology, how the technology works, and how it will help those with hearing aids save time and money and reduce moments of deafness. What is orange corn? Evan Rocheford, the CEO of NutraMaize, shares his story, what orange corn is, and how it is solving vitamin deficiencies. Evan's father, Torbert Rocheford, pursued a career in agriculture to reduce world hunger. Although people were successful in lowering caloric hunger, communities began eating staple foods with lower micronutrients. Torbert and others recognized this issue and started performing biofortification on foods that people were already eating, like corn. Meanwhile, Evan, Torbert's ambitious and adventurous son, was looking to start a business. Little did he know that his years spent helping out on the farm when he was younger would pay off as he is now the CEO of NutraMaize, a consumer-focused agriculture company supporting the research and selling the products constructed from biofortification. Episode 148: Central Indiana Community Foundation, Clayton De Fur Jan 08, 2020

“Once you experience meaningful work, you can’t go back.” Clayton De Fur, the Sr. Community Leadership Officer at the Central Indiana Community Foundation, joins us this week to share his story and discuss the CICF’s strategy and impact. Following the advice of his career test, Clayton graduated from IU Bloomington with a master's degree in public affairs with a focus on non-profit management. Fortunately, he’s never turned back. In what he feels like is one of his dream roles, Clayton handles grant-making and non-profit relationships focused in areas including arts and culture, environment, animal welfare, food access, nutrition, and health. In this episode, we dive deep into the issue that CICF has chosen to tackle: Systemic Racism. Clayton candidly reveals how we can only fix access to opportunity if we focus on race. Once the CICF recognized this problem, they decided to change their mission to “mobilize” a “community where all individuals have equitable opportunity…” and have initiated change in Indiana. Including partnering with the Drink Culture Podcast to present the Seeing White series that helps attendees understand whiteness. Come porching with us as Joanna Taft from the Harrison Center shares her story over a Gin Rickey. Joanna grew up in Washington D.C. knowing that she wanted to solve problems in the Federal Government. That was until she met her husband and they moved to Cambridge City, Indiana where she worked as a program coordinator for Huddleson House. You can now find Joanna hosting Porch Parties every Sunday to build community with her neighbors, working on PreEnact Indy, and sharing the stories of the Greatriarchs in Indianapolis. In 10 business days, Thor Wood went from a hangover to a business plan for his current Indy-based company SNAPSHYFT. Thor was born in Utah and moved to Indianapolis at the age of 2. After attending college for eight years without graduating, Thor spent time as a private investigator before starting a career in recruiting. After extensive market research, including connecting with Scott Wise on Twitter for advice, SNAPSHYFT was created and has qualified for many start-up programs and accelerators over the last 3 years. We get wild this week with the President of the Indianapolis Zoo and self-proclaimed Biophiliac, Dr. Rob Shumaker. Although he loves all of the Great Apes, Rob’s favorite is the Orangutan. He shares with us many entertaining facts about the species, some from the books he has written. Pamela, who is most recognized for her Kurt Vonnegut and Reggie Miller murals, grew up in Indiana constantly drawing. Influenced by her math-loving father, she approaches her art technically from the “how” versus the “why” perspective. On the flip side, Ish Muhammad grew up in NYC on the lower east side, surrounded continuously by public art and graffiti that emphasized the “why” versus the “how.” For Ish, “…being creative has always been a reality,” which has inspired his passionate graffiti work around the nation. Dip your paintbrush and shake up your paint cans as we learn about impressionistic art, the power of murals and graffiti, and Pamela and Ish’s work in Indianapolis. Episode 134: MilesHerndon and Gavel, Daniel Herndon Oct 02, 2019

Daniel Herndon’s story is one that reminds us of how many non-traditional paths have excellent outcomes, that a career is a concept, not a necessity, and how grit is essential for success. Daniel grew up as one of twelve children in the Sunshine Inn, his home during the week and a public music venue on the weekends. Although homeschooled, the variety of guests that would attend the music events at his home exposed him to many cultures. Daniel was a natural entrepreneur and was always creating jobs for himself. His family couldn’t afford the curriculum necessary for him to finish high school, and without college experience, he still received an internship with the University Loft company. Daniel eventually felt that his creativity was being stifled in the business world and started a band that he worked for full-time on for 1.5 years. As many musicians do, he learned the business side of music and eventually transitioned into marketing. Today, he owns MilesHerndon, which helps brands with branding and marketing strategy, and Gavel. Fast forward through years spent in college and working in Virginia, Norman is now CEO of Conner Prairie and shares with us the intricacies of how they create a historically accurate place for people to engage with the colonial times in Indiana. Conner Prairie is named after William Conner who built the brick home on Conner Prairie's property; however, don't forget about his brother because he may still be haunting the location to this day (off the record, of course!). Learn about the economic impact of Conner Prairie in Indiana, their activities from tomahawk throwing to hot air balloon rides, and the conclusions from our hot-topic conversation on the comparison of the U.S. government's recognition and support towards historic preservation and education versus the rest of the world. Drink deep of the culture that surrounds you this week with Norman Burns of Conner Prairie. Visit the Conner Prairie website here! Review the episode on iTunes, Twitter, and Facebook!

    Episode 117: #KeepAnnDancing Jun 25, 2019

Why must we keep Ann dancing? Who is Ann? And, how does she reflect the culture of Indianapolis enough to deserve our attention? Join the leaders of the Keep Ann Dancing campaign, Kären Haley, Chris Gahl, & Mindy Taylor Ross and us as we candidly discuss the campaign that has Indy debating the importance and value of public art. Mindy Taylor Ross, the Curator and Public Art Project Manager for the Indianapolis Cultural Trail: A Legacy of Gene & Marilyn Glick during the installment of Ann Dancing, unveils the history behind the purchase of Ann, Ann's increasing need for maintenance from Dr. Phil, and provides perspective of public art in Indianapolis versus other cities. Kären Haley and Chris Gahl reveal what catalyzed the campaign, how the funds are being used, and why they chose to do what's never been done before: crowdsource funding for public art. Listen to the story behind Keep Ann Dancing unfold as we share a drink around the table of Bluebeard's Second Story private dining space overlooking the Indianapolis Cultural Trail (home to more art pieces than mentioned in this episode). Episode 116: Powderkeg, Matt Hunckler Jun 19, 2019

There’s another Hunckler building community in Indianapolis? This week we chat with Matt Hunckler about the entrepreneurial career that led him to accidentally start Powderkeg. Matt, brother to alumni Josie Hunckler of Rabble Coffee, spent his youth designing buildings, desirous of being an architect. While visiting friends at IU during his freshman year at Purdue, Matt would drop-in to the #1 rated entrepreneurship school in the country where he learned how concepts like accounting and finance were the building blocks of a business. As you might expect, Matt transferred to IU, where he started his first business after listening to alumni Scott Hill's presentation about his experience as an entrepreneur. After graduation and while in the Orr Fellowship, he started a group called Verge for entrepreneurs in the tech space to get feedback on their projects. It wasn’t his intention for it to grow, but it’s now a comprehensive, curated platform to connect the right people to the right culture in tech. Specifically, in areas that do not have a dense population of talent. Take a sip of your Hotel Tango whiskey as we learn about how vital culture match is to employee retention, about the growing tech community and industry, and the struggles of growing a lifestyle business. We even have a special, uninvited guest who tunes in. Drink deep of the culture that surrounds you this week with Matt Hunckler of Powderkeg.

Episode 115: Bottleworks, Rob Gerbitz Jun 12, 2019

Bottleworks. With one word, we have the attention of every person in Indianapolis. In this episode, we talk to the guy behind its vision - the CEO of Hendricks Commercial Properties, Rob Gerbitz. The Wisconsinite grew up with a father in the family restaurant business. From his experience helping his dad, Rob knew that he didn't want to run the family restaurant business. The restaurant did, however, lead him to his passion when one of his customers invited him to interview at the customer's property management company. From day one, Rob knew that he was addicted to the fast-paced chaos in property management. As he grew in the industry, he learned the value of a visionary leader and how to balance chaos and organization. Rob exited his own company with the intent to take time off work; however, he quickly realized that life without work is boring. When he interviewed with Hendricks Commercial Properties - which is owned by Diane Hendricks who is rated #1 for Forbes’ American Self-Made Women - Rob recognized that it was a special place to work. Tune in to learn about the property management industry, the importance of details, and the smell that fills the Ironworks Hotel.
