Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft 5-4-22 May 04, 2022

Show notes

It is officially rookie-draft season. So we invited Derek Brown of Fantasy Pros and Ben Gretch of Stealing Signals to all put our player opinions to work. Those 2 join Matt and Jared in mocking out 2 rounds of a 12-team superflex dynasty rookie draft. You probably won't be surprised that it took a little bit for the 1st QB to go. You might be surprised, though, at which player went first. As for how the rest of the 22 selections played out ... well, you'll just have to listen. Even if you play redraft only, you'll gain some insight into what you can expect from this rookie class right away.

Check out our superflex rookie rankings, or whichever cheat sheet fits your format. Build your own custom Draft War Room before your draft kicks off.

NFL Draft Round 1 Reactions 4-30-22 May 04, 2022

Show notes

We knew this wasn't a great NFL Draft for offensive skill-position talent. The NFL emphasized that with a 1st round that included only 1 QB, no RBs and no TEs. We did, however, get big moves for Jameson Williams and Chris Olave -- plus 4 other wideouts joining them on Thursday night. The biggest moves, however, might have been the trades of A.J. Brown and Marquise Brown. We're breaking down all the action that's set to impact your fantasy football drafts -- whether you're playing redraft, dynasty or both.

Podcast: NFL Draft Needs and Fits 4-27-22 Apr 28, 2022

Show notes

Greg DePalma and the folks at Ourlads have been covering the draft for longer than most people have been playing fantasy football. So we asked Greg to help us dig into teams with the biggest needs at the fantasy-relevant offensive positions and try to find NFL Draft prospects who could fill those needs. We talked not only about a potential sleeper in this year's QB class, but 1 who could be in next year's group as well. We ran through some wideouts who could help offenses not just in Round 1, but through Day 2 of the draft as well. We talked about some key mid-to-late round RBs to watch, as well as some of the top landing spots for opportunity. And we even talked positively about a TE class that just makes most people yawn.

Check out our pre-draft rookie rankings for dynasty leagues. Dig into our full library of FREE Dynasty Prospect Scouting Reports.

WR and TE Prospect Preview 4-20-22 Apr 21, 2022

Show notes

Last week, we previewed the RB and QB classes for the upcoming NFL Draft. This time, we're focused on pass-catchers. And the WR group this year looks like the best of the offensive bunch. Have we settled on a clear top 5? How many others could sneak into Round 1. Walter Cherepinsky has been covering the draft for years on his site, WalterFootball.com, so we asked him to join us in digging into this classes. We're also taking a look at a much less interesting TE group, searching for guys who might present some fantasy upside.

RB and QB Prospect Preview 4-13-22 Apr 14, 2022

Show notes

Are Malik Willis and Breece Hall the clear leaders at their positions for fantasy football drafts out of this NFL rookie class? And even if you're set on "yes" for them, how does the class settle out behind them. We're still waiting on the NFL Draft to answer some final questions, but Jared and Matt have some favorite prospects they'll be tracking ... as well as some seemingly overrated guys to avoid.

Best-Ball with Guest Ben Hauver 4-8-22 Apr 09, 2022

Show notes

It obviously takes some good luck to win a best-ball fantasy football tournament. But the process is about attacking edges to set yourself up to take advantage of those lucky breaks. That's especially true in a full-season format such as that on Drafters, as opposed to the weekly playoffs that finish some other best-ball tourneys. Ben Hauver won the 2021 regular-season tournament, so we invited him on to ask what worked, how DFS and best-ball play feed each other and how he's planning to keep the success going in 2022.

2022 Rankings Reveal 4-6-22 Apr 07, 2022

Show notes

Your 2022 fantasy football rankings are LIVE! Our rankings are never really "finished," of course, until the regular season starts. We'll tweak them constantly: after each move in NFL free agency, after the NFL Draft, sometimes just because we read some news or discovered some indicator that has changed our minds about a player. But having them available at the earliest date ever -- for at least the 2nd year in a row -- can give you a big advantage in your early best-ball drafts. We're talking some today about the process, but then diving into some of the biggest standouts vs. early ADP: potential draft sleepers and total avoids.

March Dynasty Roundup 3-30-22 Mar 31, 2022

Show notes

It's been a while since Matt and Jared did the pod thing together, so this reunion show ran a little long. It's for good reason, though, as there's a lot to talk about on the dynasty frontier. We're starting by revealing some key enhancements to our dynasty tools (1:02), then assessing the Russell Wilson- and Deshaun Watson-led offseason QB market (5:32), looking at what to do with Elijah Mitchell, Antonio Gibson, Michael Carter and other RBs (27:23), evaluating the robust trade market's effect on WR values (55:22), and wrapping up with some disagreement on a big-name TE (1:19:42).

Underdog's Hayden Winks has been answering that question for a couple of years now, and his findings can help you draft better teams. We'll talk about how many QBs you should be drafting -- both in common formats and superflex -- as well as how to treat the other positions. And then we'll dig into some rookie talk.
