    Show notes

Things have been getting very heated in the Fighting Game Community. Team Double Tap has arrived on the scene to give you guys the low down dirty information on what has been stirring up. Updates take us too NetherRealms studio, which had a live stream explaining changes from nerfs to buffs. NRS not stopping with their character train by doing a release trailer & live stream of HellBoy. PC Beta is Live till Nov 14th and E-League is this upcoming Friday! SnK gives a chance to an artist to create an original character design for the new king of fighters XIV, and the answer was met. Mezza is stunned and CrashTag is mind blown with how detailed the design of this character Najd who was designed by a woman in Saudi Arabia.
Square Enix finally released an american overview of their game using an epic announcer. Mezza & CrashTag take a crack at discussing whats about the stones that were acquired during the battle of the stones series. Redbull throws in more money and gets promotional costumes for Street Fighter V. Another big load of information hits the database for "Randoms Of The FGC" of course kicking it off with some fantastic news for the Fantastic 4 and X-men squad. They might be seeing some more action on screen with Disney rumored to pay for the rights. Street Fighter V gets another 200k sells who knows if that is good or bad. Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite sales look good but seem to be lacking something. DLC character gameplay at capcom cup for marvel is a very high possibility.
Mike Ross breaks his silence to speak on E-sports, joke or no? Crying Bryan wins Marvel at Youmacon. Syndicate picks up OMGitzandre and drops him within the same day. As always there are amazing mods. Monkeygigabuster brings us a Street Fighter 5 Strider costume for Zeku. Khaledantar666 presents his own take on a skull crusher version of Akuma. #57: DLC Cash Cow Oct 25, 2017
    Show notes

Everyone is in a uproar and so is the Double Tap team! CrashTag & Mezza tackle the bigger issues of the Fighting Game Community once again. Before they get to that, they discuss the arrival of Weiss in Blazblue: Cross Tag Battle and how she plays a big roll by being the complete opposite of Ruby. In addition to her announcement, other returning cast members of blazblue Rachel, Hazama, and Noel followed by fan favorite Chie and Waldstein: hailing from their perspective games Persona 4 Arena & Under Night In Birth.
Namco finally announces their MasterCup 9 Next month which is a 5 vs 5 Tekken 7 team tournament. Over 190 teams have entered and Mezza is in shock of how that will run smoothly. NetherRealms has officially dropped Raiden but as CrashTag is not so impressed with another Mortal Kombat character entering the fray. He still has a ban from all tournaments over his head. Namco & Arcsys bring us more amazing content with the newly announced Nappa and Ginyu. More candid screenshots to assure us both characters hold interesting play styles and a confirmed 24 character list.
Team Ninja makes a dynamic return since the summer with new Halloween costumes to fit the times. Capcom forgets what it means to choke as they bring another stone which was won by Cloud805. Stone giving access to a power within tournament. Patch notes have arrived but are they underwhelming? Listen to Mezza dig a hole into the updates, and not only that but the disucssion of Monster Hunter, Sigma, and Black Panthers arrival.
Capcom did not hold back on Downloadable Content as new costumes arrive, "Avenged Army & World Warriors Costume" these packs having some oldies and new combinations of skins. Street fighter V gets a Zeku breakdown by Vesper Arcade as a newly announced character. Sports costumes are here for your favorite lovable characters! Randoms in the FGC get a load of interesting topics from the possible shut down of NeoGaf to Canada Cup Pre-Reg numbers looking better then expected across the board.
The Focus Attack has CrashTag crunching numbers and Mezza screaming Dragonball Z is the answer. Don't miss the heated controversy over the Z pass DLC. Last as always Mod Highlights come with a pretty fun take on Street Fighter as theJAMK brings us a Funk Menat, Khaledantar666 brings us Emma Frost and a little taste of X4 Armor as a normal skin for Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite done by Natsu-Ken.

Today in the, "Randoms Of The FGC" there is light shed on top of the soul stone that is acquired in Milan Games Week in Italy by Richard Nguyen. #53: Teamwork in Fighting Games Aug 29, 2017
    Show notes

Super Saiyans and gods of the DC Universe/Marvel Universe are truly invading the Double Tap podcast this time. CrashTag & Mezza bring forth a really interesting topic on three vs three game concepts as a Focus Attack, but they dive deep into the game updates. Capcom comes with some new Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite content -- Metro City and Dark Kingdom stage, and a new story trailer that will make you want to watch the story more then play it. Training room has a small reveal, but Chun Li's face got the fix of all fixes... Her face!
DragonBall Fighter Z got the exposure of a life time with the reveals of, androids 16, 17, 18, and SSGSS Goku & Vegeta. Android 18 and Piccolo both have references that show their moves through out the anime and manga stories. GamesCon really shows off their game play and how the characters work. Namco drops a bomb with Tekken 7 bowling, and some interesting costumes for the whole cast. NetherRealms fighter pack 2 was announced, and CrashTag gives a crash course on the new characters Raiden, Black Manta, and Hellboy. Discussion of Black Manta's moveset confuses the team what is gear and whats not.

Randoms Of The FGC brings us marriages in arcades, SNK announcing more games to come, Arms community in an uproar about controller layout, and Absolver the new marital arts fighting game is on the rise. #52: Welcome to the Jam! Aug 16, 2017
    Show notes

Coming off the Summer Jam XI high, the Double Tap team is back and they have a lot to say this time around. NetherRealms drops StarFire and CrashTag is ready to dig in to the possibilities she holds. Talk of intractable's wanting to be banned from tournaments, but some say no way! Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite brings us a mock up select screen. Mezza is a no go for some of the basic simplistic look and CrashTag does a run down of the list of characters. Zero looks busted with this heavy zoning and the push blocking mechanics seem rather lenient. Arcsys releases Jubei on August 31st & patch notes follow for the community.
DragonBall FighterZ will contain no cross platform and the team is confused how this is left out. Namco speaks on their Tekken 7 sales passing over 1.66mil. Jecht announced for Dissidia for the beta! Arika Mystery Game got an official Facebook Page and announced Allen Snyder an original Street Fighter concept character. Nintendo has nothing on what these smash 4 players setup for a Bayonetta vs Bayonetta intro. French bread reimburses the community with a late date release in 2017 for American Under Night In Birth Late(st) fighting game.
In the "Randoms of The FGC", Dragon Ball FighterZ at Gamescom is having a stream! Guilty Gear characters will not be in Blaze Blue Cross Tag battle. Is this good or bad? King of Fighters Destiny Episode 1 and 2 are officially out on Youtube. Japan steps into another world of high level plays and great moments. Also, CrashTag scored a interview with BrutalAce, the modder of many Street Fighter V and older great mods. No focus attack this time, but the boys got to meet up and that of course leads to a Travel segment! Check out the Summer Jam XI exclusive recap!

#51: Old is Still Old Aug 02, 2017
    Show notes

The DoubleTap boys are at it again, but "Oh no!", CrashTag is missing. Fear not, guest co-host Mikey "Key" Kenney is here to save us... or is he!? Key and Mezza take on NetherRealms new patches to Injustice 2. Aquaman is finally lost in Atlantis, and Bizarro has awesome interactions with StarFire. Ed Boon drops a possible Cyrax hint to be put in Injustice 2. Everyone can now support the E-sport/Tournament scene by buying downloadable content. Capcom brings back some a few fan favorites, Dormammu and Firebrand, through a comic cover. Metrocity/New Metro City get a mixed stage that looks quite respectable.
Mezza talks how powerful Street Fighter V's Abigail is, but Key not impressed with the character design. DragonBall FighterZ had an amazing moment when Cynthia Bunny does some real Dragonball reactions when deflecting a level 3 super. Beta sign ups start August 22, but the play date will be September 16th - 18th. Eliza is now released for Tekken 7 downloadable content. Not only is she coming with it, but so does the Taiko No Tatsujin items.
Mezza talks about the new Hori Pro Hayabusa fight stick. Key gives his thoughts on Kotaku Vs. DotEsports writing methods. British Broadcasting Corporation will broadcast Esports competitions, and Arika is using decks similar to what gems were in Street Fighter X Tekken. Focus Attack talks about if re-releasing old content to a new game benefit the company or lose more? Khaledantar666 & BrutalAce put out some very nice mods that do not look half bad. Ranging from GwenPool, Jill Valentine, and a Kung Fury outfit.

#50: Fighting Games are Great Jul 19, 2017
    Show notes

Evo2017 has finally passed, and it has been a tearful road to the top. CrashTag & Mezza didn't get to appear at Evo2017, but they sure do have a lot to cover. NetherRealms not very strong on the updates and reveals at EVO, and more focused on fixing Injustice 2 after with balance patches. Sub Zero is officially out and playable, but banned from tournaments for a month. Capcom throws us a bone with Gamora and Jedah gameplay. The team covers the very playful combofiend vs Splyce|Fchamp exhibition match which seemed to have shocked FChamp a bit, or did it?
Riding the Capcom wave of reveals. Street Fighter V received some Nostalgic costumes, the original Classic Ryu Stage, NuckleDu's very own costume Guile, and the Ring of Pride on July 25th. A new comer to the ring appears as well when Abigail, the street gang leader from Final Fight, makes his first fighting game appearance in Street fighter V! Arcsys goes wild with a Blazblue character release "Jubei", one of the six heroes! Bandai steps their game up with Trunks Gameplay/reveal for Dragon Ball FighterZ and even added Krillin & Piccolo to the mix. Also a DB FighterZ basic tutorial was released for learning purposes.
Namco, pushing hard with Tekken 7, teams up with SNK to bring us Geese Howard! Pokken also gets its very own promo trailers for each new character and the game itself. In the "Randoms Of The FGC" Jarret Jeffries gets appointed as president of EchoFox, and the DoubleTap Team seems to like the shift in gears for EchoFox. CrashTag brings up some good points on the Mysterious Arika Game character reveals, and Mezza throws his two cents in about BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle.
Ryce brings us more leaks for Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite, and HurtboxTV drops more then over 200 Dissidia Beta codes for the community! Crash & Mezza tackle the "Focus Attack" post Evo thoughts, and they seemed to have been very impressed with the turnout despite the games being played on Sunday. Last but not least, they hit you with some heavy mod highlights from KOFXIV's Luong as Juri to Urien cosplaying Ultron.
