Discovering Trek listeners, you ever lose your map, your phone and your sextant? Neither have we, but in this episode we chat the adventures of space Felix and Oscar, er we mean Trip and Malcolm.

A series of unfortunate events lead to thoughts of dead crew, loves lost, family matters and what tastes great and is suitable as filling.

This episode, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey discuss all that plus a crass and out of place scene, the writing for female characters, manufactured tension using series regulars and growing friendships of the NX-01 crew.

Sara and Kasey hope you'll join them for a shot or four of the good stuff on Discovering Trek: Enterprise. Come explore the First Frontier with us!

Shadows of P'Jem Jul 19, 2021

Show notes

Discovering Trek listeners, in this episode we see the Vulcans get called out for spying and they REALLY don't like that. So T'Pol is being recalled, without a new gig, soon to be gone forever from the Enterprise crew. Archer being all Archery takes her on one last mission and flies down to Coridan, where things are not so peachy on the political front.

This episode, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey discuss captured crew, quick thinking, a sleepy returning character, plates of grool, a completely insulting scene, fake outs and the return of a beloved actor.

You are Ni'Var far from adventure with this crew. So get ready for some blue, pointy, phasery and tension filled happenings in this episode. And seriously, is a little cinnamon in the oatmeal and less sexism too much to ask?

Discovering Trek listeners, in an episode full of Klingons, guess who the badass of the episode is? Hungover Klingons? Nope. Hoshi Sato! That's right! Hoshi has not only found her space legs, she is stretching them with confidence. A welcome change for her character that comes out of the blue.

This episode, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey discuss the Vulcan database and who reads it and who might not, the perils of the EV suits, how well known the Klingons are to the Vulcans and the risks of deep space exploration.

Sara and Kasey hope you'll join them for some knock off blood wine, moody lighting and a ticking clock built on pure pressure on Discovering Trek: Enterprise. Come explore the First Frontier with us!

To Whom It May Concern:

We hope this episode finds you well. It has been roughly 7 days since our last correspondence and there have been quite a few happenings that have tested our fortitude. You may think that exaggeration is at play in this communique, but trust us dear reader, that is not the case. Two species going in different evolutionary directions, a doctor and a captain both struggling with what to do and not do and one crew member realizing that he is not as alone as he thought. Welcome to episode 13 of Discovering Trek: Enterprise!

This correspondence, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey verbally write about the lack of relationships happening on Enterprise and the dilemmas faced by the first Starfleet crew out in deep space. Is Phlox obligated to try and save 50 million lives from a genetic disease and interfere with the natural development of the entire planet? Do Phlox and Cutler have a friendship or something more?

If you have not read the enclosed service manual... We recommend you do so. Life on a space craft can be as lonesome or as fulfilling as one decides to make it.

So much more to write to you, but for now just remember sometimes sharing a tub of popcorn is not just sharing a tub of popcorn.

XOXO

Sincerely, Discovering Trek: Enterprise

Silent Enemy Jun 28, 2021

Show notes

Shhhhhh. We quietly welcome you to cold space where ya never know who might show up unexpectedly and then give you the silent treatment. In-laws? Nope, just your regular ole creepy aliens that seem to be quite angry that they don't know what Malcolm's fav food is. Does that sound right? Sure, why not? Welcome to Episode 12 of Discovering Trek: Enterprise!

This episode, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey discuss the yin and yang plot points that drive this episode. Two wildly different stories that go well together like peanut butter and chocolate or clash like beer and cake? We get some new weapons to protect the Enterprise and Reed misunderstands inquisitiveness in his life.

Sara and Kasey hope you'll join them before the pineapple sours and the aliens cause a ruckus on Discovering Trek: Enterprise. Come explore the First Frontier with us!

Discovering Trek listeners, we hope you brought your 11 year Plume pilgrims with you to experience the time craziness going on in this episode. Welcome to Episode 11 of Discovering Trek: Enterprise!

This episode, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey discuss the interactions Archer has with a couple of time travelers and the repercussions of of those interactions. The Suliban return to save the Enterprise...but why?

We talk the above plus the "all in" nature of Phlox. Does the doctor ever not dive into life full force?

Sara and Kasey hope you'll join them before the plume has dissipated and the door is secured and locked on Discovering Trek: Enterprise. Come explore the First Frontier with us!

Fortunate Son Jun 14, 2021

Show notes

Discovering Trek listeners, we hope you have your ears on good buddy, no Starfleet Smokeys in your rear-view and warp 3 is treating you nice. Welcome to episode 10 of Discovering Trek: Enterprise!

This episode, Co-Hosts Sara and Kasey discuss the dangers deep space freighters encounter, two stubborn ship leaders, the mammoth portions Chef prepares, T'Pol having some serious hide and seek helper skills and the saving grace of having a thoughtful and sincere helmsman!

The Nausicaans are not heart stabby in this adventure, but sure are a menace. When a space boomer is supported by family how does that expand one's opportunities? And who leaves a half eaten steak?

We talk all that, plus if you try to kill Starfleet members by suffocation but they manage to escape, you don't get brought up on any charges. Really. That happens!

Sara and Kasey hope you'll join them on the long haul from Jupiter Station, on Discovering Trek: Enterprise. Come explore the First Frontier with us!
