The Prodigy crew is back and so is Discovering Trek! Mike and Emilie are joined by Kellyn Goncalves, to discuss "Kobayashi." The Protostar emerges from its warp 4,000 light years from the Delta Quadrant and discovers some of what the holodeck can do.

The majority of the crew wants to contact the Federation after finding out they've traveled faster than anyone thought possible. Dal isn't having it. In fact, after finding out about a training program on the newly discovered holodeck, he wants to show the crew that he's more than just a self-appointed captain. Gwyn is still dealing with the emotions of her father's desertion and wants to find out why the Protostar is so important to him.

The Examples Dec 21, 2021

This week, Dan, Bill, Sara, and Kasey take on Star Trek Discovery's "The Examples".

During an rescue mission on an old Emerald Chain settlement, Burnham and Book work to save a group of prisoners who were left behind during the evacuation and face certain death from the DMA.

Meanwhile on the Discovery, Federation scientist and all around know it all Ruon Tarka comes aboard and works with Stamets to gather more information on the DMA. With the help of Saru and Reno, they come up with a dangerous plan to create a mini DMA to test some theories and gain additional data.

Plus, Culber is obviously feeling the stress as ships counselor. He reaches out to an unexpected source of help to figure out what he needs to do - namely Dr. Kovich!

After an enlightening conversation with the mysterious Dr. Kovich about the reformed Starfleet Academy, Tilly takes command of a group of new cadets and Adira on an away mission that goes horribly wrong. With time running out she must find a way to make her team work together or face certain death!

Meanwhile, during the ceremony to welcome back Ni'Var to the Federation, Saru and Burnham are thrust into a political firestorm as President T'Rina drops a bombshell on President Rillak that throws the entire proceedings into doubt!

This week, Dan, Sara and Kasey talk all about Star Trek Discovery's Season 4 emotional second episode "Anomaly". Book is hurting. Bad. Like a lot! His planet is gone and he has cut himself off from everyone, even Burnham. But he quickly volunteers for a dangerous mission to gather info on the anomaly. He will need help, so Stamets joins him on the away mission - sort of.

Plus, Saru returns to the Discovery as its new First Officer and is helping just about everyone with words of wisdom, while Adira helps Gray with his trepidation about being incorporated into a synthetic body and finally becoming 'alive' again.

For our final breakdown episode before the hiatus, Mike and Emilie are joined by Jenn Tifft from Trek Core, to discuss "Terror Firma." The crew faces their toughest challenge yet, find the U.S.S. Protostar and get off the planet before the planet strands them there.

A 10 kilometer walk that keeps changing direction is tough enough without a crew member with a broken leg who has given your biggest foe your coordinates. This time the crew is able to stand together to meet their challenges head on and be saved in an unexpected fashion. This leads Gwyn to have to make one of the most important decisions of her life.

This week, Mike and Emilie are joined by Nathan Sherman and his uncle, TGPN associate producer, Patrick Escudero to talk about "Dreamcatcher." The young crew of the U.S.S. Protostar go on their first away mission since taking control of the ship... but it isn't the best of experiences.

Plants that can read their thoughts attempt to keep them all on the planet by seducing them with the things they really love. Gwyn, still aboard ship, is able to escape the brig and take over all systems, giving her the ability to tell The Diviner their whereabouts. Zero, Rok-Tahk, Pog, and Dal are unaware of this as they succumb to the telepathy of the planet.
