DFS NBA Podcast - FanDuel and DraftKings Plays for Tuesday 12/10/19 Dec 10, 2019

Show notes

It's a special Tuesday NBA podcast from the guys here DFSR! It's easy to get nervous about finding value on a four game slate, but Doug and James are here to deliver some excellent value options.

With Ish Smith still running the point in Washington, Miami missing a lot of ball handlers, and a new coaching situation in New York, there are a lot of high floor options on the cheaper end of things tonight.

The guys also discuss how to approach these nights strategically. Do you take high floor, but unexciting options from good teams like Denver and Philly, or can you speculate on cheaper guys from teams in flux like New York, Washington, and Charlotte? Tune in and find out!

DFS NBA Podcast - FanDuel and DraftKings NBA Plays for Wednesday 12/4/19 Dec 04, 2019

Show notes

The DFSR team is back with a game by game breakdown for Wedneday's NBA DFS slate on FanDuel and DraftKings.

The guys start by reflecting on some of the weird situations with huge ownership on back-ups this year, and then jump into some interesting back-up options for tonight in Cheick Diallo and De'Anthony Melton.

As of now there aren't a lot of obvious punt plays jumping into the forefront, and these back-up options make it a little easier to get the excellent big payoff guys we're looking at tonight.

The best payoff in the DFSR system is Luka Doncic, who just summarily destroyed the Pelicans with 18 rebounds through three quarters. He's the highest floor guy in the game right now since Middleton rejoined the Bucks, and looks like a great option here.

Outside of these guys, it's a nuanced discussion around grabbing value where we can, so be sure to listen to Doug and James try to find those diamonds in the rough.

DFS NBA Podcast - Wednesday FanDuel and DraftKings 11/27/19 Nov 27, 2019

Show notes

Doug and James are here to talk about the biggest NBA DFS slate of the season! The slate is far too big to get into a lot of the specific plays, but the general strategy tonight should be very interesting.

Is it a nice to prioritize high floor, low ceiling players like Fred VanVleet and DeMar DeRozan? Will there be enough punt plays to support paying up for multiple guys like Davis, Giannis, Harden, and Towns, or will we have to pick between them? If so, where do we land?

You also have a number of teams in strange spots with players moving in and out of the starting lineup, like the Suns with Ricky Rubio, Kawhi potentially sitting on the second half of a back to back for the Clippers, 70% of Blake kicking around in Detroit. and more.

All in all, it's a very intriguing night in the Association. Enjoy the podcast, but if you want to keep in the loop as the day goes on you should be sure to hop in our members only chatroom by heading on over to https://www.dailyfantasysportsrankings.com/deals.

DFS NBA Podcast - Wednesday FanDuel and DraftKings Plays 11/13/19 Nov 13, 2019

Show notes

Doug and James are back for another game by game breakdown of this wild Wednesday NBA DFS slate. With injuries aplenty and an outsized amount of opportunity becoming available for some already solid plays, tonight is not a night to try and eek out 275 FanDuel points in your cash games. Fear not, though, the DFSR guys are bringing the goods.

Some key situations to look at: Embiid being out against the Magic, the Celtics continuing to spread out Hayward's opportunity in a great spot vs. the Wizards, the redistribution of Eric Gordon's opportunity in Houston, insane minutes out of VanVleet and Siakam in Toronto, and a potential Anthony Davis absence for LA.

Whew. With all of these openings, making winning DFS lineups on FanDuel and DraftKings is going to be tricky tonight. DFS NBA Podcast - FanDuel and DraftKings Plays for Friday 11/8/19 Nov 08, 2019

Show notes

DFSR's Doug Norrie and James Davis are back on the NBA podcast breaking down a big Friday NBA slate for FanDuel and DraftKings. There's a lot to discuss with a number of injury concerns to evaluate and some big money plays who could be in line for huge games. Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving lead the charge at point guard and each are putting up stats beyond even the loftiest expectations. And there's also something of a Karl-Anthony Towns/ Andre Drummond challenge play scenario at center.

They look at the Pacers injury issues, the T-Wolves possibly without Jeff Teague again and what will happen to the Sixers without Ben Simmons. It's a packed Friday NBA podcast.

DFS NBA Podcast - FanDuel and DraftKings Plays for Wednesday 11/6/19 Nov 06, 2019

Show notes

Doug and James are back to break down a full slate of NBA DFS basketball on FanDuel and DraftKings.

The early season has been as exciting as advertised, which huge leaps by budding superstars in Luka Doncic and Andre Drummond, and some surprise leaps by total unknowns as well. The Warriors G-League squad upset the Trailblazers, but can they put together solid fantasy totals as 16.5 point underdogs against the Rockets?

There are a bunch of injury situations to keep an eye on as well. If Turner and Sabonis miss their game tonight, Goga Bitadze has an incredibly high ceiling.

With Kawhi on load management duty tonight, you can grab a bunch of different Clippers, but it could also free up the Bucks (Giannis in particular) for big nights as well.

DFS NBA Podcast - FanDuel and DraftKings Plays for Friday 11/1/19 Nov 01, 2019

Show notes

Doug Norrie is flying solo on the DFSR NBA podcast, breaking down the FanDuel and DraftKings plays for a bigger slate. The slate might start and stop with the Rockets and Nets who open with a crazy 241 over/under, 20 or so points higher than just about any other game on the slate. It makes sense considering how fast these two teams play and how little defense they employ.

There are other interesting games as well with the Lakers playing the Mavericks and the Spurs going against the Stephen Curry-less Warriors.

DFS NBA Podcast - FanDuel and DraftKings Plays for Wednesday 10/30/19 Oct 30, 2019

Show notes

With a huge Wednesday NBA slate looming, the DFSR guys are here with a comprehensive game by game breakdown. Without a lot of obvious cheap plays going tonight, we need to find value where we can get it, and it isn't going to be easy.

The big question we have to ask ourselves in the early season is when we can trust small sample sizes. The guys believe that James Harden will go back to being the same super-efficient scorer he has been in the past, for instance, while also being somewhat concerned about Mike Conley's start to the season. They trust the growth we've seen from Brogdon and SGA, but are not as sold on Karl-Anthony Towns continuing to shoot 50%+ from three in perpetuity.

Analyzing the early season differences in players is absolutely crucial to success at NBA DFS this time of year. Thankfully, that's what the DFSR guys specialize in.

DFS NBA Podcast - FanDuel and DraftKings Plays for Wednesday 10/23/19 Oct 23, 2019

Show notes

The DFSR crew is back after a successful first night of NBA DFS! While last night was pretty straightforward, tonight is a quagmire, and Doug and James do their best to give you a preview of what you can expect from each and every game on tonight's 11 game slate.

They also talk about high level strategy for the beginning of the season. When can you accept a lower ceiling for a higher floor in cash games? Are there any players in new situations that we can feel comfortable playing in cash games? And how do those players affect the guys who are already on the team?

James and Doug also discuss some early season punts, how to try and capture upside at the time of the season when the prices are most likely to change going forward, and more!

DFS NBA Podcast - FanDuel and DraftKings Plays for Opening Night Tuesday 10/22/19 Oct 22, 2019

Show notes

NBA Season is back and the guys are getting into FanDuel and DraftKings lineups and pricing for the two-game slate. It's a fun one with plenty of starpower as well as some new situations to try to make sense of before the games tip-off.

They break down the Pelicans-Raptors game with the former playing without Zion Williamson for the next 6-8 weeks. The generational rookie will need surgery to repair a meniscus issues. But the Pels without him have some solid DFS guys like Jrue Holiday and Brandon Ingram as well as Lonzo Ball.

Meanwhile the Raptors have a core of guys who actually project well without Kawhi Leonard this season and we do have some track record of what the team will do without Leonard from last season. Pascal Siakam and Fred VanVleet in particular could both be chalk plays here.

And then we get the Lakers-Clippers game with Lebron James and Anthony Davis facing off against the aforementioned Kawhi Leonard. This is appointment television as the two LA teams square off. The guys look at what to expect from Davis in his first game as a Laker and how to project the new(ish)-look Clippers.
