What’s up everybody and welcome the 38th episode of Outside The Rack brought to you by Kinetic Performance the makers of Gymaware. In this show we are going to try to dive a little deeper into the minds of the top practitioners in the world of sport performance to learn a bit more about who they actually are and how they got to where they are at today. Before we start, who is Ryan Nosak?
I’m somebody who’s been molded by all my experiences in life and my family members who’s an old sole and a wanna be renaissance man.
    1) Describe a learning situation that brought about an epiphany in your career
Starting at Penn State learning what “simple but not easy” means.
    2) If you could ask one questions and you know you would get the answer what would that be and why?
Jokingly, “What you gonna do brother when Hulkamania runs wild on you?”
Seriously, “I’d like to know why I was born, what am I set to do here?”
    3) What’s your escape?
I started training away from DePaul at Quads Gym to be able to be in that presence. Outside of training I’ve found flotation tanks to be a reset button. Spending time with my finance diving into a Netflix binge.

“What is the one underlying quality that all team sport athletes need to compete? How can we build a robust aerobic system that is going to allow them to adapt, evolve, and move forward?”
“What are some ways that we can get the tissues to be resilient and how can we progress that?”

As this “new norm” continues we are now facing a unique challenge in the world of physical preparation, and that is an actual off season. In many, if not all sports, participation year round has become the norm. With the current situation hampering those opportunities we now have the opportunity to prepare these athletes for participation. In this weeks My Thoughts Monday I share some ways we have started to look at this developmental period, how we have “had the answers” all along, and how we are hoping to progress and audit this progress.

A topic of debate is what experience is required to have a say. In this weeks My Thoughts Monday I discuss why time in the field alone is not enough to say you have greater experience than someone else, and why we really CAN and SHOULD learn from coaches of all “experience” levels.
