Episode 197: The Thick and Thin of Kefir Apr 05, 2022
    Show notes

I get more emails about kefir separating into whey and curds than any other question about cultured foods. It can happen because the grains are growing or the temperatures have gotten warmer or a few other things. It's not a bad thing and the kefir is still good, so don't throw it out and think it's no longer good. Kefir grains are extremely active and strong so check out this podcast to learn to make the best kefir!

Nothing has changed me more than cultured foods. I've consumed them for over twenty years and nothing is more convincing than your own life experience. I've also done tons of research on fermented foods, and always have a lot of studies and references on my articles and podcasts. It is so exciting to see the research flooding in with what I had discovered myself many years ago. I wanted to share with you a new study that came out in July 2021. Episode 192: An Apple Peel A Day Keeps The Doctor Away Mar 01, 2022
    Show notes

Apples have been associated with a number of benefits that could help promote long-term health, but one of my favorite things that apples, and more importantly the peel can do is feed the all-important bacteria called Akkermansia Municiphila. Akkermansia helps to maintain our gut lining and has many health benefits by keeping gut lining strong. When it's damaged you can have leaky gut syndrome which is linked to IBS, anxiety, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome. Check out the podcast to learn more.

Episode 190: Hesperidin: The Amazing Flavonoid in Orange Juice Feb 15, 2022
    Show notes

Orange juice contains special compounds that have a lot of health benefits. Hesperidin is abundant in oranges and is a phytonutrient (a naturally occurring plant compound). I always thought that orange juice was full of sugar and bad for you, but that is the old way of thinking. Over and over in this work, I have seen people demonize foods - only to find out that it's not the food! It's what we've done to these foods and to our guts that are stripped of the bacteria needed to digest them. The amazing thing is orange juice can help repair our guts, lower blood pressure, help with cognitive functions, and much more. Check out this week's podcast for more.
