    Investigation ramps up as Mike Pompeo engages with January 6 Committee Jul 28, 2022

    Multiple sources tell CNN Trump’s former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo could sit for a deposition as early as this week, as the January 6 Committee’s investigation shifts to cabinet-level officials. And it's now clear the DOJ hasn't been dragging its feet, as it focuses on potential criminal charges for individuals connected to both seditious conspiracy, and the fake electors scheme.
    Senators Manchin and Schumer announce a surprise agreement on The Inflation Reduction Act, which provides $369 billion for climate change programs and assists Americans with their medical bills. And, The Federal Reserve hikes interest rates by 0.75% for the second time in two months, as the White House plays down recession fears. Plus, a potential deal is being negotiated to exchange a convicted Russian arms trafficker dubbed “The Merchant of Death” for the release of WNBA star Brittney Griner and former Marine Paul Whelan.

    DOJ investigating Trump’s actions prior to insurrection Jul 27, 2022

    The Washington Post reports the DOJ is investigating Trump’s actions in a January 6 criminal probe, subpoenaing top Pence aides Marc Short and Greg Jacob to testify before a Grand Jury, for hours of detailed questioning about meetings the then president led in December 2020 and January 2021. Attorney General Garland has faced criticism for his handling of the January 6 investigation - do these moves make it clear he’s moving closer to prosecuting Trump?
    Elizabeth Weller lost her baby girl due to a premature rupture of membranes at 18-weeks and was initially denied life-saving medical care due to a Texas abortion law. She joins to tell Laura her story.     Secret Service January 6 text message mystery Jul 20, 2022

    The Secret Service insists records of the text messages sent by its staff on the day prior to, and on January 6, were lost during a phone migration program and that they are still working on recovering them. Were the texts improperly and purposely deleted? It’s a key question that several federal agencies, including the National Archives, want answered.
    Mick Mulvaney was Trump’s Acting White House Chief of Staff before being ousted in March 2020. He tells Laura what he knows about his successor Mark Meadow’s handling of the Capitol riot as it unfolded, the dynamic between Trump and advisers in the final days of his presidency, and if he would he support putting Trump back in the White House in 2024. And, in the aftermath of Roe v. Wade, autoimmune patients struggle to access critical medications because they can also be used to end a pregnancy. Disability rights advocate Sarah Blahovec is one of the patients at risk and tells Laura about the impact it will have on the treatment of her Crohn's disease.
