    Trump’s 187 minutes of inaction during Capitol riot to be investigated Jul 14, 2022

    Horror in Highland Park Jul 06, 2022

    Another mass shooting in America mars Independence Day celebrations in Highland Park, Illinois. The suspected gunman was taken into custody last night after allegedly using a “high-powered rifle” similar to an AR-15, which he bought legally, to kill at least 7 people and injure dozens more. Senior Illinois Senator Dick Durbin joins to discuss a community in shock, and whether the bipartisan bill on gun reform is enough to prevent mass shootings.
    The January 6 Committee’s next hearing will focus on connections between the Trump White House and organizations that attended the January 6 rally in Washington, including white nationalist groups. Plus, the grand jury probing Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia subpoenas some of the former president’s key allies including Rudy Giuliani and John Eastman. And, users on right wing social platforms openly call for January 6 Committee members to be executed as Rep. Adam Kinzinger shares vulgar, graphic messages received by his office.

    Secret Service corroborates Hutchinson’s testimony on Trump Jul 02, 2022

    Two Secret Service sources corroborate Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony, telling CNN that Trump angrily demanded to go to the Capitol on January 6 and berated his protective detail when he didn’t get his way. That, as the New York Times reports the Trump political organization pays the legal fees of some select committee witnesses, raising concerns of witness pressure.
    Nancy Northup is President & CEO of the Center for Reproductive Rights. Her organization filed lawsuits this week that have succeeded in temporarily blocking abortion bans in Louisiana, Texas, and Florida. She joins to talk about the Op-ed she wrote urging Biden to declare a public health emergency for abortion. Steve Hall is the former CIA Chief of Russia operations. He joins to discuss WNBA Star Brittney Griner’s trial for drug smuggling which starts today, Russia’s legal system and how Griner could be used as a pawn in Putin’s prisoner swap drama.
