    Send us Fan Mail

Nothing fancy from me this week, instead, I’m sharing my audio journey and the story of building The Podcast Haven.

I think stories are the key to great podcasts, and I hope you enjoy mine. By sharing my story I hope to become more relatable, and connect to all of you on a more personal level.

In addition, I want my story to serve as inspiration to those of you who are chasing something. Oddly, I feel like I’ve been chasing something my whole life. I’m not even sure what it is. Have I finally found it in podcasting? Probably not. But for now, I think this is where I’m meant to be at this point in my story.

How To Use Veed To Create Social Media Clips Feb 22, 2023
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

Experience the power of video podcasting with Veed and reach new heights of brand awareness and organic growth.

Here's What I cover In This Episode:

    1. Discover how to unlock the power of video podcasting with Veed, a web-based video production tool

    2. Learn how to create professional-looking videos with minimal effort and get access to dozens of fonts, captions, and animations to customize your clips

    3. Find out how Disney, Amazon, Netflix, and Google use Veed to repurpose content and

maximize their reach on social media

    4. Learn why video is the first thing people see when they wake up in the morning

If you want to get people excited about your podcast and expand your organic reach, you may want to add a video component to your marketing strategy. With video, you can cut together clips and trickle them across your social media channels. If you haven’t noticed, a lot of the top podcasters have been using this strategy for a few years and it’s paid them dividends.

Travis Brown told me something a few months ago that stuck in my head. People don’t wake up in the morning and start searching Apple Podcasts and Spotify for podcasts they want to listen to that day. They wake up and start scrolling social media, and video is one of the first things they see in the morning. You want to be right there in front of them. Video really can grow the awareness of your podcast.

Creating video clips may sound intimidating, but Veed makes the process incredibly easy. Veed has a range of tools for customizing videos, such as adding SFX, music, graphics, captions, emoji,s and more. Veed even has awesome templates which can expedite your creative process.

Capsho: AI Copywriting For Podcasters | Never Write Show Notes Again Feb 15, 2023
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

Hate writing show notes? Me too. In this episode, I’m breaking down how I use Capsho to generate the show notes for Clipped. Capsho is an AI copywriting software for podcasters. To get started using it, simply upload your audio file. Then Capsho will get to work generating marketing copy for your podcast. Capsho’s AI only takes 10 minutes to start pumping out content for an episode.

    Capsho’s Outputs

    • Episode Titles

    • Show Notes

    • Transcriptions

    • Social Media Captions

    • Email Marketing Copy

    • Blog Posts

    • LinkedIn Articles

    • Episode Quotes

    • YouTube Descriptions

I mainly use Capsho to speed up my writing workflow and assist me in coming up with ideas for my show notes and episode titles. In addition, I also use Capsho’s transcriptions, email marketing copy, and blog posts.

    Capsho Tips

It’s important to take the copy that’s generated and add your secret sauce to it. This is the case with any AI copywriting software. Do not copy-paste what Capsho generates for you. Google knows the difference between AI-generated copy and human-written copy. It could harm your podcast and website ranking if you copy things verbatim. Plus it won't sound natural, and won't sound like you. People listen to your podcast because they like YOU. Keep it that way.

Capsho is a tool. Take what it gives you and get to work personalizing it. Make edits, and put things in your own voice, vibe, and style. Additionally, check that the copy Capsho is generating is accurate.

With a little practice, you can start using Capsho to accelerate and improve your podcast marketing machine.

In This Episode, You Will Learn The Following

    1. Discover how to turn your podcast episode into multiple pieces of written content with AI-powered copywriting tool, Capsho

    2. The importance of adding your own voice to AI-generated copy

    3. Find out how to create an email marketing campaign that generates a high click-through rate

How To Use Paid Podcast Advertising To Exponentially Increase Listenership Jan 25, 2023
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

As an Indie Podcaster, I regularly take a risk on paid advertising to grow this podcast, triggering a race-against-the-clock to beat the podcasting giants, uncover hidden opportunities and discover the best way to get in front of my ideal listeners. I think you should do the same. I’ve been experimenting with paid podcast advertising for the last 4 months, and my podcast downloads have grown by 65%. That’s actually why I recorded this episode. I want to see you get similar growth.

My goal with this is to show you how to increase the return on all the hard work you put into your podcast by showing you how to implement a paid podcast advertising strategy. Implementing a paid ad’s strategy is an essential addition to your podcast's overall marketing plan. At least in my opinion.

I get it, not everyone has the financial resources to invest in their podcast. I also understand that using a paid marketing strategy might be frowned upon in the industry. Fortunately, there are some inexpensive advertising options that I’m confident will grow your listenership. I cover these in this episode.

Oh, and don’t worry about being labeled a “sell out” for putting some money into advertising your podcast. It’s called marketing! If you want to grow your listenership then why not be open to seeing fast returns?

Don’t get me wrong, organic growth is best and it will reap dividends for you in the long run. I’m not against that. You definitely need to be pushing your podcast hard on social media, in your newsletter, blogs, and in all other ancillary content related to your podcast. But if you drop a few dollars into paid podcast advertising to pump up those efforts, you’ll have a better chance of cutting through the noise and getting your show in front of your ideal listener.

As my buddy Adam Schaeuble of Podcasting Business School says, “You’ve got to love your podcast like a hobby, but treat it like a business”. But hey, if you’re just having fun, I get that too! Just know this episode probably isn’t for you.

In this episode, you will learn the following:

    1. How to use podcast advertising to grow your podcast and get in front of an ideal audience.
    2. The pros and cons of Buzzsprout Ads, Overcast FM, Podcast Addict, Pocket Cast and PodNews for paid podcast advertising.
    3. The impact of paid podcast advertising on downloads and subscribers.

How I Use Instagram To Book Podcast Guests Jan 04, 2023
    Show notes

    Send us Fan Mail

Are you ready to take the leap and book amazing podcast guests? In this episode, I’m outlining how I use Instagram to book podcast guests.

In my opinion, the best way to book podcast guests is through Instagram. Now, you don’t just want to slide into someone's DM’s and cold pitch your show. That COULD work, but, for the best results, you need to put in work on the front end and be personable. This means engaging with your potential podcast guest’s content and slowly building a relationship with them.

Once you’ve established a little bit of a rapport, you can DM them and formally introduce yourself. If they’re responsive and you’re feeling like they’d be a good guest, shoot your shoot and invite them on your podcast.

    Here’s the special sauce:

Do your pitch via a voice recording. This adds your personality to the pitch and makes it feel a lot more personal. It also makes it easier for them to pick up on your vibe. Be sure to tell them about your audience and include a few talking points for what the interview would look like. This will help them decide if your audience is a good fit for their message.

Don’t make it weird, be yourself. Work on building a dialogue and reach out to people that genuinely align with your brand, audience, and message. This approach has worked great for me and I think it could work well for you. Give it a go.

In this episode, you will learn the following:

    1. How to use Instagram to book podcast guests
    2. The tips I use to build rapport with content creators
    3. The importance of making your pitch personable
