    Episode 507 - Jonathan Fell Aug 22, 2013
    Show notes

Producing, songwriting, and singing since he first picked up a guitar at age 16, Jonathan Fell's music reflects both the alternative rock and southern sensibilities that surrounded him growing up in Southwest Virginia. Currently residing in Chicago, IL, he has performed and recorded with various rock groups over the past ten years, and in April 2012 released his first debut solo album, "On Darkened Streets." The album is an openly honest chronicle of a relationship as it passes from its final death throes to its eventual demise. Jonathan currently records and performs throughout the Chicago-land area. Jonathan has also started his own Podcast "The Attic Sessions" which focuses on the art, and craft of songwriting. Through a series of studio sessions, live recordings from his monthly Songwriter Showcase and song analysis, Jonathan attempts to demystify the songwriting process for beginners.

    Episode 506 - Kirabelle Frabotta Aug 16, 2013
    Show notes

Born and raised in the Detroit area, I'm a singer / songwriter, living and loving in Nashville, eternally chasing truth and expression through that medium which connects us all... music. I love sampling old songs from the Great American Songbook and re-arranging them. These songs should never be forgotten and I strive to keep them alive in my music. I love to infuse the music I write with elements of folk and jazz utilizing a variety of instruments - fiddle, guitar, piano, bass, ukulele, melodica, mandolin, and autoharp. It is my great hope to inspire others to research and recognize the glorious treasure left by those who have come before us, tip our hats, pay tribute, and continue on, re-inventing the musical 'wheel.

Episode 505 - The Ledgendary Bourbonaires of Logan Square Aug 14, 2013
    Show notes

The Legendary Bourbonaires of Logan Square are an acoustic trio based in the vivid traditions of Honky-Tonk, Country, and American Roots music. The trio formed in late 2009. Three longtime friends through life and various musical projects, the Bourbonaires acquired a fine taste for Old Crow Bourbon and a mutual love for the soundtrack of drinking, which is Honky-Tonk music. They would sit around on a Wednesday night, with an upright bass, dobro, and guitar, sippin' bourbon and learning Elvis, Buck Owens, and Hank Williams standards. This grew to playing stylized versions of tunes from CCR, the Band, Little Feat, and Gram Parsons. However, it was all cemented in bourbon, roots, and an all acoustic sensibility. You can run them down at Coleman's House of Fine Music on a loose schedule of smattered Friday evenings. Set-up in the front room of Cole's, they'll provide the HONKY-TONK . The experience of their performance is rare and takes you back to a simpler time. Three guys set up in the corner of a bar, with no microphones or amplifiers. Just singing and picking..
