InCyde The Moment is a brand new podcast to Wide Right Natty Lite where Matthias Schwartzkopf and Grant Mahoney will dive into some of the biggest moments in Iowa State history good or bad. These podcast will feature some of those who were firsthand encounters to these historic events.
First up is the 2011 upset of #2 Oklahoma State. We were able to get Jeff Woody to join us to talk about what went down. It also happened to be Grant Mahoney's senior night so we got a little bit of his perspective as well.
We hope you enjoy the show!

DPNL: The Circle, Narcos, Cyclone Kickers (and the Politics), and Bad Movie Takes Feb 21, 2020
    Show notes

    Send us a text

This week, Levi, Cole, and Marchie start the episode off by talking about a couple new shows/seasons we're watching on Netflix. Marchie is hooked on Narcos: Mexico Season 2, and Levi has been binging the new reality show, The Circle. Then we figure out what Levi's strategy will be if he gets cast to Season 2.
Then, we talk about Iowa State's new grad transfer kicker, Alex Probert, amd what his 2020 season could look like. This brings up the question of why Iowa State has had trouble finding good kickers, and why the staff doesn't seem to be utilizing one of its greatest available resources, former Iowa State kicker Jamie Kohl.
Then, we finish with a sort of preview of our movie episode we have planned, by discussing where our favorite movies belong on the all-time list.

Then, we talk about the XFL and why we're particularly excited for the new league and its future. Finally, Levi is going to be spending a few days in the Dallas area, so March dishes on all of his favorite spots around the DFW metro.

An action packed episode even with a man down! Tonight the usual suspects break down Tyrese and his injury, and how that impacts the Clones headed forward. After that the boys speculate on how the OU matchup would go, with a back end filled with a lot of great pop culture talk. From the XFL, to The Bachelor and gambling on the NBA dunk contest. Everything is covered in this week's pop update from the Wide Right crew.

DPNL: Super Bowlin' and Football 'Crootin Feb 07, 2020
    Show notes

    Send us a text

This week, Levi and Cole discuss what was one of the more entertaining Super Bowls in recent memory, but not without giving some love to Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker. The guys also talked about the latest 2020 and 2021 football commitments and what they can do for the team going forward. Interestingly enough, the kicker we talk about actually decommitted WHILE WE WERE RECORDING.

Litecast: From Shooting Hoops to the Super Bowl Feb 05, 2020
    Show notes

    Send us a text

Super Bowl Sunday has come and gone, and the crew is here to cover all the angles from the Chiefs remarkable victory.

The current (and depressing) state of Cyclone basketball was also discussed, including future bright spots (Zion Griffin, Trae Jackson) and current concerns (George Conditt, inability to finish games, fan anguish).

This week’s Wide Right Moneyline covered betting on the Super Bowl in all facets - how you should have bet the big game, interesting proposition bets, bad beats, and how us “experts” made out on our betting.

You’ll also love this week’s Movie Minute, where a robust discussion of Quentin Tarantino films was had. This included analysis (and spoilers?) of his newest film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”, debating the merits of Jackie Brown, and a “top 3 Tarantino movie” discussion.

Last but certainly not least, the crew tried to decide which was more embarrassing to our great state of Iowa: Kelsey from the Bachelor or the Iowa Caucuses. Tune in to find out!

Litecast: Remembering Kobe Bryant, Recapping Auburn, and Super Bowl Proposition Bets Jan 29, 2020
    Show notes

    Send us a text

In this rather somber episode of the Litecast, the crew attempts to tackle a host of topics, but the news of the day made it rather difficult.

The life and legacy of Kobe Bryan was discussed, including what he meant to kids growing up in the Midwest hundreds of miles from the nearest NBA city, what his legacy is and how the NBA remembers all he gave to the game, and how surreal it was to follow the news on social media in real time.

The Cyclone’s 76-80 loss at Auburn was also discussed, which required some box-score and tea-leaf sifting to find the positives in the road defeat.

On a happier note, the Super Bowl was also discussed, including our picks for the game as well as a host of proposition bets that we found interesting, including the odds on the halftime show, the length of the National Anthem (take the under), and some actual sport-related player props. Enjoy!

The Wide Right & Natty Litecast is back with a bang, bring you new segments and the usual hard-hitting Cyclone sports analysis you know and love.
In this episode, the crew discusses the two tough road losses against Baylor and Texas Tech, recaps Tuesdays victory over Oklahoma State, and dives into Steve Prohm and the construction of the roster.
The Bachelor (of course), the Fisticuffs at the Phog, and Zion Williamson's debut were also covered, along with a smattering of random topics.
Making their debut to the podcast were three new segments: The Headline Heater, The WRNL Movie Minute, and the WRNL Money Line, all of which we know you will enjoy.
Be sure to subscribe to the new WRNL podcast feed, the "Wide Right & Natty Lite Podcast Network", to catch all the site's podcast content.
