A Different Kind of Gratitude for Catholic Moms Nov 26, 2025
    Show notes

Gratitude isn't always easy — especially when life is hard, motherhood is exhausting, and the holidays add more stress than joy.

You know you're supposed to be thankful. You want to be thankful. But some seasons make gratitude feel like a performance instead of something real.

In this episode, I offer a different approach to thankfulness — one that goes beyond a list and into your heart.

We talk about: * Why forced gratitude can actually backfire * A deeper, more honest way to practice thankfulness as a Catholic mom * How to be grateful even when your circumstances are difficult * Grounding your perspective in Scripture instead of Pinterest

Faith and Creativity in Motherhood with Raquel Nov 20, 2025
    Show notes

What happens when a Catholic mom takes her love of making beautiful things and turns it into something bigger?

In this episode, I sit down with Raquel from The Little Rose Shop to talk about the intersection of faith, creativity, and motherhood — and what it looks like to use your God-given gifts while raising a family.

We talk about: * How Raquel built a faith-rooted business while being a present mom * The struggles and joys of balancing creative work with family life * Trusting God with your gifts (even when it feels risky) * Finding purpose and identity beyond the daily grind of motherhood

Permission to Say No: You Don't Have to Do It All Nov 12, 2025
    Show notes

It's that time of year again — the season when every organization, school, church, and family member needs something from you.

Sign-up sheets. Bake sales. Holiday parties. Gift exchanges. Volunteering. Hosting. And somehow you're supposed to do all of it with a smile while also keeping your family fed and your sanity intact.

In this episode — my annual fan favorite — I give you full permission to say no.

We talk about: * Why moms feel obligated to say yes to everything (and the real cost) * How to say no without guilt, drama, or long explanations * Which things actually matter this season (it's fewer than you think) * Protecting your peace so you can be present for what counts

When You Feel Like a Failure as a Mom Nov 05, 2025
    Show notes

Feeling like you're failing at everything? You're not. In this episode, Sterling shares a gentle, Catholic way to move through those heavy moments: calm your body, separate your worth from your to-do list, and let Jesus tell you the truth about who you are.

    You'll learn:

    • How to calm your nervous system when "failure" thoughts hit

    • Why "I am a failure" is never true

    • The 4-step reset to find peace again

    • How to stop carrying shame over small mom moments

Tasks can fail. Daughters of God dona

Every mom has those days — or weeks, or months — where failure feels like the only word that fits.

You lost your temper again. The house is a mess. You forgot something important. Your kid is struggling and you feel like it's somehow your fault. And the weight of it just sits on your chest.

In this episode, I speak directly to the Catholic mom who feels like she's falling short — because I've been her.

We talk about: * Why failure feelings don't mean you've actually failed * The distorted thinking patterns behind "I'm not good enough" * How to anchor your identity in Christ instead of your performance * The truth about why God chose YOU for your children

Hey Mama, You're Doing a Good Job Oct 22, 2025
    Show notes

Hey. Yes, you. The one listening while folding laundry, or driving carpool, or hiding in the bathroom for two minutes of silence.

    You're doing a good job.

Not a perfect job. A good one. And that matters more than you know.

In this episode, I look you in the eye (well, through your earbuds) and tell you what you need to hear today.

We talk about: * Why moms rarely hear "you're doing a good job" (and desperately need to) * The trap of comparing your worst moments to someone else's highlight reel * What "good enough" actually looks like in Catholic motherhood * How to receive encouragement without deflecting it

The Feeling Every Mom Is Chasing (And How to Find It) Oct 15, 2025
    Show notes

There's a feeling every mom is chasing — but most of us don't even know what to call it.

It's not happiness exactly. It's not having it all together. It's something deeper, quieter, more lasting. And the reason you can't find it is because you've been looking in the wrong places.

In this episode, I name the feeling, explain why it's so elusive, and show you how to actually access it.

We talk about: * What the feeling actually is (it's not what you think) * Why chasing happiness keeps you stuck on a treadmill * How God designed you to experience this in your vocation as a mother * The simple shift that opens the door to finding it

Why Your Kids Should Misbehave: A Catholic Parenting Truth Oct 08, 2025
    Show notes

Hot take: your kids should misbehave.

I know — that's not what anyone tells you. But perfectly behaved children 100% of the time is not the goal. It never was. And if you've been stressed every time your child acts out, this episode is going to take a weight off your shoulders.

In this episode, I explain why misbehavior is actually a sign of healthy development — and how to parent through it with peace.

We talk about: * Why we panic when our kids misbehave (and what it triggers in us) * The developmental truth about children and behavior * How to set realistic expectations based on your child's age and stage * Parenting with peace instead of panic — even in public

Managing Fear as a Catholic Mom: Practical Tools (Pt 2) Oct 01, 2025
    Show notes

This is Part 2 of our series on fear — and if Part 1 helped you understand why you're afraid, this episode is about what to do about it.

Fear is sneaky. It shows up at 2 AM as worst-case scenarios. It disguises itself as "being responsible." It makes you believe that worrying is the same as caring. And it steals your peace every single day.

In this episode, I give you practical, faith-rooted tools for managing fear in real time.

We talk about: * Specific techniques for processing fear when it hits * How to interrupt the spiral before it takes over * The role of prayer, Scripture, and the sacraments in fighting fear * Moving from paralyzed to peaceful, one thought at a time

Managing Fear as a Catholic Mom with Lorissa Horn (Pt 1) Sep 24, 2025
    Show notes

Fear is one of the most powerful emotions a mother experiences — and if you let it, it will steal your peace, your joy, and your confidence.

In Part 1 of this two-part series, I sit down with Lorissa Horn to unpack what fear really is, why Catholic moms are especially prone to it, and how your brain's fear response actually works.

We talk about: * What fear looks like in everyday mom life (it's sneakier than you think) * Why your brain treats parenting worries like physical threats * The different disguises fear wears — perfectionism, people-pleasing, control * How understanding fear is the first step to freedom from it

The Only Thing You Really Need as a Catholic Mom Sep 17, 2025
    Show notes

In a world that tells you to do more, be more, hustle harder, optimize everything — what if there's actually only one thing you need?

Not ten things. Not a perfect morning routine and a meal plan and a prayer journal and a fitness goal. Just one thing.

In this episode, I strip away the noise and get to the heart of what actually matters in your vocation.

We talk about: * Why we keep adding more when what we need is less * The one thing that changes everything in Catholic motherhood * How to simplify without feeling like you're giving up * Permission to stop performing and start living
