Episode 14 - The Materalizing Of Duncan McTavish (Road to Avonlea S1E4) May 31, 2018

Show notes

Once again, we are treated to a Marilla and Rachel centric episode, and our hearts couldn't be happier with it! Marilla invents a beau to get the Avonlea gossips off her back, but when a man with the same name rides into town, Marilla spirals into a web of lies so deep, she's not sure she can get out of it.
We recorded this episode in the middle of the day, so energy levels were high and a new song was invented!

Episode 13 - The Quarantine at Alexander Abraham's (Road to Avonlea S1E3) May 24, 2018

Show notes

The return of two of the most beloved characters in the Avonlea universe return in this episode. Well, beloved to us anyway. Mrs. Rachel Lynde and Marilla Cuthbert return, and they haven't changed one bit since we last saw them. In this episode, Rachel, Sara, Felix and an old codger named Alexander Abraham must be quarantined in the Abraham house after Alexander's hired hand comes down with a severe case of small pox. Shenanigans and Rachel's severe style of order come into play big time this episode.
We also welcome Libby back to the show! The first of hopefully many times throughout the series!

Episode 11 - The Journey Begins (Road To Avonlea S1E1) May 10, 2018

Show notes

In the first episode of Road To Avonlea, we are introduced to Sara Stanley, who is shipped off to Avonlea to live with her aunt, uncle, and cousins after Sara's father is caught up in an embezzlement scandal. It's an episode that proves that even extreme exhaustion can't stop us from talking about it!

Episode 10 - Her Eye Is On The Sparrow May 03, 2018

Show notes

We did it. And boy oh boy, was it a journey. The final hour of The Continuing Story kicks off spectacularly bad, introducing 3 new characters that we're supposed to care about, but it's too little too late. However, unlike the 2nd hour, we do have a few sweet moments that ALMOST make it remember what it was like to be at Green Gables.

Episode 9 - This Is REALLY Not Anne Apr 26, 2018

Show notes

Ok, so we were fully prepared to give this miniseries a fair shot after the first hour left with us with a little hope that it may be ok. But then we started the 2nd hour and oh boy, did it squash any hope we had! This was a complete misfire. But thank the heavens that we have Libby back with us to ease the pain of this viewing.

Episode 8 - This Is NOT Anne Apr 19, 2018

Show notes

Don't let the "Anne" in the title fool you. This is so far removed from anything even related to Anne. Yet it's oddly fascinating to watch, and we hesitate to say that there may have been some slight enjoyment in watching it.

Episode 7 - I Only Want You Apr 12, 2018

Show notes

In the final hour of Anne Of Avonlea, Jen Pringle makes amends with Anne, Minnie May opens her mouth a little too much, Morgan Harris proposes marriage, but deep down, Anne has always known who her only love is. Sadness abounds as we close out Anne Of Avonlea, as we know what's coming next.

Episode 6 - Innocent As Doves, Cunning As Serpents Apr 05, 2018

Show notes

Libby joins us again as we discuss the 3rd hour of Anne Of Avonlea!
In this episode, we come to two conclusions: 1) Dave should be in charge of the opening and closing of the podcast from this point forward, and 2) Sister Act 1 and 2 are two of the greatest films ever made.
We also discuss, among other things, the arrival of Mrs. Harris, the scandalous Pringle diaries, which may or may not contain an entry about cannibalism, and Mary, Queen of Scots.

Episode 5 - The Pill In All This Jam Mar 29, 2018

Show notes

In the 2nd hour of Anne Of Green Gables - The Sequel, Anne continues to hate on Gil, despite numerous people telling her that he loves her. Marilla decides to have Rachel live with her after Thomas's death, Anne begins teaching at the Ladies College, and is almost immediately terrorized by the Pringles, including Jen Pringle, who sounds and looks like a secret killer. We are also reintroduced to a character who may or may not attempt to steal Anne's heart. Not literally steal it, like we're sure Jen Pringle wants to.
