In his second act, Caddy is joined by Donna on the air to bring listeners informative and entertaining conversations about current events, parenting and country music. You’ll hear a unique discussion on trending news topics, see behind the scenes of the music industry and relate to their personal stories from the home front.

Morgan Wallen, Lady Antebellum, Britney Spears and MUCH more. It's a music-pa-looza episode on today's episode of Cadillac Jack – My Second Act.

Donna heads to Athens for a little business trip. Go Dawgs. While she was there she got to relive the glory days and also heard a motivational speech from UGA Athletic Director Josh Brooks. In it, he talked about what it took to build good company culture. Hear what advice he had to give that resonated with Donna.

Morgan Wallen made his big return to Atlanta last Thursday and Friday and Donna took Charlotte for a little mother/daughter concert. In short: he lives up to his reputation. Donna relives the concert, the atmosphere, the fans and the man that has become one of country music's biggest stars.

Also in country music, Lady Antebellum has postponed the rest of its tour dates until 2023 after band member Charles Kelley announced that he is checking into rehab to deal with alcohol issues. Donna and Caddy applaud his bravery and the support that his fellow band members are showing him. Family first, they said. Amen.

Britney Spears is in the news after her former husband, and the father of her two boys, took some dirty laundry public when he revealed that their sons have decided they don't want to see Britney anymore. Donna and Caddy talk about how divorce and stardom effect kids in a relationship and what a sh*tty move by K-Fed this was.

On the next episode, we'll discuss the life and legacy of Olivia Newton-John, singer and actress, who passed away Monday at the age of 73.

The bonus parent Aug 04, 2022
    Show notes

Alright, let's go. It's time for the August 4th, rising moon, leo aligned, Cadillac Jack: My Second Act podcast.

Caddy went to producer Carl's favorite place this side of the Mississippi. The Splish Splash Laundromat. It got a little slippery.

Then importantly Donna talks about being a bonus parent, and we think a lot of listeners will relate.

Tyler Hubbard has launched a single career for his own Second Act. The Florida Georgia Line artist is out, about and rumbling on. But if you offered him $1 million to go back, does he?

Josh Turner also joins the show. Or does he? Listen about 34, 35 minutes in and you (definitely) will find out. Listen closely, then let us know. 7704646024.

Better hope that they practice discretion Aug 02, 2022
    Show notes

Donna opens the show with a game based on a little TikTok sensation that involves rating people and adding qualities to them that either upgrades or downgrades their "score." Would a girl with a dog named Dale Earnhardt be a plus or a minus for you?

Caddy breaks into his own house. Well, sort of. He has an explainer for the Thursday episode. Like, literally how the episode was dead and then it wasn't. It involves a LOT of trust in his IT guy.

Joanna Cotten is stepping aside and taking another stage. Eric Church's longtime backup singer appears to be leaving the band for a solo career. Caddy and Donna discuss what might be going on and what could be next for Joanna.

Also, Caddy teases the story about when Josh Turner drove to Johnny Cash's house and knocked on his front door. You won't want to miss it. Tune in.

And finally, Pod peep Doug joins the show to talk about how he found the podcast and to figure out how the hell he can get The Letter out of his damn spam folder.

What fictional character do you wish was real? Seriously. We want to know. Call or text 770-464-6024.

It's a short one here on Cadillac Jack: My Second Act. And we are only talking about length a little bit.

Have you thanked your IT guy today? We sure have. Better yet, make sure to visit them at Christmas, because you want to stay in their good graces. You have no idea the power they wield.

It's time to get out the film, shutterfly and scrapbooks. We're headed down (photographic) memory lane. If there was one thing you've done that you could relive, what would it be? Donna has two answers.

You know when an artist connects with the audience in a way that is just pure magic? Like when Luke Combs and 63,000 of his listeners creating a moment for one special fan? They're rare, and they do happen… but Country musicians seem to have a gift for it.

We do take a voicemail from pod peep Doug. He has a question for the show, and the Jacks try their best to answer. Then it's time to rag on our coworkers. Maybe even the show host who plays the worst background white noise in the history of podcasts for five minutes and 46 seconds. Who knows.

This is going to be a short episode Jul 26, 2022

Donna is feeling a little under the weather, but she is going to power through it. First up, long time listeners of the pod will know that Caddy and Donna rarely drive anywhere together in the same car. Finally, we get some insight as to why.

Caddy has been decorating the studio to get ready for their big YouTube live debut. Here the latest and greatest on how that's going.

Alan Jackson is going to be a grandfather! Find out what his grand baby will be calling him. Jamey Johnson updates, too. It's a country music heavy episode!

And last, but certainly not least, Caddy and Donna pay tribute to Jay Grover, a dear friend who recently passed away. They attended his funeral this weekend and had a chance to reflect on some of their best memories, including – yes – the now infamous wet t-shirt contest years ago at Country Fair. And, as it turns out, the WINNER of that contest recently messaged Caddy on social media. He reads what she had to say live on air.

Any ideas for Caddy on what to deck the studio out with? We're all ears. Text or call 770-464-6024. We'd love to hear from you.

Was your headboard sturdy? Jul 21, 2022

Donna opens the show to talk about boundaries – in love, parenting, work, you name it. It's a follow up to a segment about children and adoption. Donna's advice? Control what you can control, which includes how you react to what you can't control.

Donna takes a CDL pre-test because she is bound and determined to pull a big rig up to the Ritz-Carlton. Caddy administers the test and Pod Peep Karen Thomas joins the show later to grade. Where the heck did Donna get this idea? Hint: TikTok.

So apparently Dave Coulier heard "You Oughta Know" on the radio and figured out it was about…him. Apparently he called up Alanis Morissette and talked to her about it. Caddy and Donna discuss. Sorry PT.

Remember growing up, it was the end of the week, and the food pantry was running low on supplies? What was the one meal that mama would be able to whip up and any time you eat it now it takes you back? Hear about Donna's.

What was that meal for you? Text or call 770-464-6024. We'd love to hear from you.

We are continuing the conversation, just as we have for the past 273-odd episodes of Cadillac Jack: My Second Act.

We begin today with a callback. Remember last week when Donna announced her potential new career as a long haul trucker? Well, we have updates. And answers. And a few more questions.

We're also headed to Las Vegas vicariously. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez just got hitched, and Caddy and Donna bring you all you need to know about it.

Donna shares a bit about what it's like to manage younger folks these days, and whether or not they've earned their reputations. For good or bad, at least they have a great taste in music. We're looking at you, Black Keys :). So study up, cram, and get ready for next episode. If you need a study buddy, let us know. 7704646024.

Have you been in one place for too long? Join the Cadillac Jack: My Second Act club. Caddy and Donna kick us off by talking complacency. Donna has a new idea for what can be her new wave. Or at least, someone's new wave. Donna's new ride. And Cadillac Jack is being recruited himself. We mean literally recruited. Donna is actually a little worried about a part of the screening process.

We're all getting dressed up for a pageant and the theme is sweet peach. You'll hear about why in the ~2nd segment of the show.

Then we look at a very popular thread that took off across Reddit. How far would you go to support relatives-in-name-only? What's the obligation to help? Where is the line between responsibility and having boundaries?

Lastly it's the biggest culture moment of the year. Shockingly, it is not a clip from Cadillac Jack: My Second Act. Tune in and fine out. Just don't get slapped. 7704646024.

Mary Magdalene has arrived Jul 12, 2022

Donna and Charlotte went to the movies this weekend to see Chris Hemsworth…I mean to see the new Thor movie. Caddy didn't go, because this was one of those dine and watch movie theaters and you know how Caddy is with noises other than his own. Find out what got Donna all hot and bothered – other than Chris Hemsworth.

Also, remember when pod peep Linda Leon said that she prays for Donna differently than she prays for Caddy? What was that all about? Caddy HAS to know. Linda responds.

If you were refreshing your inbox all day Saturday waiting for your copy of The Letter…well, we're sorry that the people over at Revue and Twitter couldn't get their act together. Apparently their servers went down and didn't bother to tell anyone. Sorry folks. We'll be back at it this weekend better than ever.

Let's talk country music and the Billboard 100 Top Country Music Albums chart. This comes after Luke Combs' 'Growin' Up' debuts at No. 1 this week. That got us thinking…who has spent the MOST time at No. 1 all time? The answer will probably surprise you.

All that and much more on today's episode of Cadillac Jack – My Second Act. Thanks for tuning in!

NEXT EPISODE: It's the halfway point of 2022 and we'll be talking top moments in pop culture. What has been the year's moment so far? Text or call 770-464-6024.

    Roleplay Jul 07, 2022
    Show notes

Lucky number 7-7 here on the Cadillac Jack: My Second Act podcast. Listen closely and you may just hit the jackpot.

About three minutes into this show you'll hear the magic of Cadillac Jack. Do you know anyone else who can improv a monologue, pretending to be a two-person conversation, while balancing a parenting opportunity and an open door? If you do, tell them to email carl@appenmedia.com. We want to talk.

Linda - great to hear from you. We're just curious. What exactly are you praying for? Inquiring minds want to know. Then we talk schedules and the Fourth of July. Are you a night owl, or a Karen? Tune in and you'll hear even more roleplaying. Perhaps a trend, I do detect.

Speaking of trends, we do have an announcement - all roads lead to YouTube. It's time to finally put cameras in the… studio.

"Hey Jim, it's Donna." You know what, let's grab a milkshake. 7704646024.
